Syncing between the phone and web is huge. I hate being on FB on my computer and my phone just blinking away. I assume if I check a notification on my PB that it will go away on my phone as well? Which leads me to...where's bridge functionality for FB between the phone and PB? Which leads me to...what will the bridge functionality be like for BB10?
Coffee Shampoo Nov 27, 2012 at 2:44 pm
If you check it on your computer, the blinking led and notification will go away once FB updates the newsfeed and notifications which is based on the amount of time you've set it on your settings e.g. 1 hour, etc. They should make it push too, I agree.
mckillio Nov 27, 2012 at 2:55 pm
Do you mean the "refresh news feed" section of the options menu? I had it set to never so that it wouldn't use as much of my battery, I wish I would have known that a long time ago. Thanks for the info and I eagerly await push functionality.
Coffee Shampoo Nov 27, 2012 at 3:28 pm
ya, that very same option, you could set it temporarily to the lowest like 5 mins, etc just to try and see that it works.
FuzzyFish Nov 27, 2012 at 4:32 pm
30 min is the minimum.
BB_Bmore Nov 27, 2012 at 2:51 pm
Wow it looks so clean and polished. Looks nothing like it use to look! Love it!
decypher44 Nov 27, 2012 at 2:52 pm
Like the new version, and love the ability to save photos.
HOWEVER - The one option I have been dying to get for over a year is the ability to upload higher resolution photos!
digitalhomeboy Nov 27, 2012 at 2:59 pm
Your screenshot above needs to be updated! :)
Coffee Shampoo Nov 27, 2012 at 3:26 pm
The UI looks great on this app, very similar to the other platforms. I'm loving the new save photo feature and the ability to see photo albums as a grid.
Joltcola1234 Nov 27, 2012 at 3:58 pm
Wow, some of these changes are SO overdue. The ability to save pictures, and the ability to unfriend. Why does it take so long for us to get some of these simple features?
Joltcola1234 Nov 27, 2012 at 4:08 pm
I still have trouble viewing photos as well, has anyone else noticed this? Most of the time the only way I can get a photo to pop up is if I click on the the menu, then hit "view photo comments" then click on the photo at the top.
Just clicking on a posted photo rarely opens it for me. It just sits on "loading" and never comes up.
Graheem Nov 27, 2012 at 6:11 pm
Yup, some load, some don't, as it's been always for me. I hadn't tried your trick of clicking on the 'view comments'. Good tip. Will try that.
Joltcola1234 Nov 27, 2012 at 4:10 pm
The new photo view is also not working.
"The facebook server is unable to retrieve photos at this time. Please try again later."
LatinoLoco24 Nov 27, 2012 at 4:24 pm
Liking the new features and layout, however, it seems to have lost sync with calendar. All facebook birthdays are no longer in the calendar. Anyone else having this issue?
FuzzyFish Nov 27, 2012 at 4:34 pm
My birthdays are still there.
LatinoLoco24 Nov 27, 2012 at 4:36 pm
Nevermind. Battery pull seemed to fix it.
darkehawke Nov 27, 2012 at 4:45 pm
unfriending! finally :)
crackberrymange Nov 27, 2012 at 4:45 pm
Just downloaded still missing simple features
Black-Belt_9700 Nov 27, 2012 at 5:10 pm
How do you check which facebook friend has bbm? And how to add them? I don't see no icons hmmm
koroshiyax Nov 27, 2012 at 5:27 pm
I suspect that they all have to be using the latest version, and have to agree to have FB BBM connected. So we probably wont be able to use this until it's available to everyone.
BB_Bmore Nov 27, 2012 at 8:33 pm
You have to enable sharing pin on profile via options. Then The other person needs it set up the same way. Go to the persons profile and click on the plus symbol. The option to BBM will be there along with message, text, call and everyone's favorite "poke".
raxamillion Nov 27, 2012 at 5:32 pm
Is the PlayBook ever going to get a decent fb app? The present one is a massive fail.
Graheem Nov 27, 2012 at 6:12 pm
Seems better than the Android sideload to me. I find for close to 'full' functionality on PB I use both and the web browser. Hopefully 10 will fix that.
BB_Bmore Nov 27, 2012 at 8:35 pm
Not until BlackBerry10. Imagine it will be very good then.
FrankDLR1972 Nov 27, 2012 at 5:36 pm
Where is the ability to manage Facebook Pages?
blockbuy Nov 27, 2012 at 6:20 pm
Liking the new look and seems a bit snappier. Have turned on BBM just for the pin bit to see how that works, but nothing obvious.
Just one thing missing imo......share a link/picture
Yep that's right - still just showing the url to a picture rather than the picture itself.
Next beta version maybe?
toosweetnitemare Nov 28, 2012 at 7:59 am
agreed. This is my most wanted feature. after using android off and on for a few years, it makes fb much more usable when i can just hit share rather than having to redownload a picture to share it or go to the url then share it. i really hope this makes it into the next version.
airmo Nov 27, 2012 at 6:28 pm
RIMM stepping it up, nice!
jhp2025 Nov 27, 2012 at 7:51 pm
We need "Follow" "Unfollow" Post if possible before it goes to final version, thanks.

Troy~£€€ even Cambodia is not in beta zone but I love to read it n wait for available here....hope this new hefty upgrade will work with APN
MaxPayne79 Nov 27, 2012 at 10:17 pm
much slower than the official but dig the redesign. #conflicted. :(
Drew Oswalt Nov 27, 2012 at 11:19 pm
This version is actually very smooth for me. The previous beta lagged most of the time.
tangyorangesour Nov 28, 2012 at 12:38 am
All seems fine till now, but small preview pane underneath the images was useful. You need not load the complete image to view, the thumbnails was good for faster navigations and as well as preview.
Though the grid representation is good but having the small navigation panel at the bottom like in the previous photo version was versatile.
jc Nov 28, 2012 at 12:47 am
How does PIN sharing work? Does FB automatically let you know when someone is sharing their PIN?
jc Nov 28, 2012 at 12:50 am
Never mind, found the answer...
julianrt Nov 28, 2012 at 4:53 am
no fb logo anymore on the top xD
flori72 Nov 28, 2012 at 6:59 am
I have some FB calendar trouble since a couple of versions back, even with that one. Even though I have unchecked the "Share calendar" option in the FB app, I still get a second calendar. I can delete the service book, but it will reappear once I launch FB. I have tried different solutions without success. I'm thinking I should just wipe the 9900 and reload the OS completely. Any suggestion?

Jaredius Nov 28, 2012 at 11:33 am
Facebook, the public access honey pot for all your most personal information. Good luck with that.
Graheem Nov 28, 2012 at 3:07 pm
As of last night, and still today, I get intermittent Facebook Server Errors (can't reach server). Annoying. Other than the slightly different look, not seeing any great benefits. May go back to official.
Joltcola1234 Nov 28, 2012 at 8:30 pm
How is being able to unfriend, save pics, and a massively improved way of browsing photos not of great benefit?
come on...
TeaBoy Nov 28, 2012 at 3:24 pm
How do you change the battery color to blue and the wifi signals to blue?
BryanVilla Nov 28, 2012 at 9:57 pm
It's an android theme that was installed on the BlackBerry.
