While the BlackBerry line of products are unquestionably the business persons go-to device, we seem to be missing access to one of the most business targeted services out there -- LinkedIn. While you can access LinkedIn via their very mobile friendly website, navigating can sometimes be less than convenient. This is where inLink for the BlackBerry PlayBook comes into the picture. inLink is one of the first applications available on the PlayBook that will give you a glimpse into the way BlackBerry 10 looks. The application uses the bbUI.js toolkit to give an HTML app the native treatment.

Features include easy accessible buttons to:

  • Check LinkedIn Mail
  • View LinkedIn updates
  • View and apply for jobs via LinkedIn
  • Connect and find people you know on LinkedIn
  • Interact with your network and groups
  • Search LinkedIn for companies, friends and groups.

If you're a LinkedIn junkie and staying on top of what's happening with your fellow colleagues, as well as your industry, you'll want to take a look at inLink for the BlackBerry PlayBook. I'm personally always on LinkedIn, and I downloaded the app as soon as it was available. There is a LinkedIn Android app that runs on the PlayBook, but I think inLink looks nicer.

Nice try, this app is a shell filled with a browser ver of Linkedln. Not worth the 2 bucks.
The side load Android app is way better

LinkedIn has poor BlackBerry support. They need to release a good, official PlayBook app pronto!

Before I buy, how does it compare to proinsights? As for the android app, it's fine, but until BB fixes the intermittent crashing of sideloaded apps, it's just too much hassle.

i got the official android linkedin app side loaded and it sucks and is slow this one is exactly the same but is butter smooth and native. I have been using it for a while now

RIM is the best and I am a crackberry addict.

You missed the ProInsights App, which is a native app which deeplinks into your Linkedin Account with some awesome graphics and additional stuff

The ProInsight App is limited in its operation however.

I would have liked to have seen groups implemented, but it doesn't seem like that will happen anytime...

Agree it has no Groups functionality, but it has its own highly intuitive interfaces etc, and stores info from your linkedin account (in case you are offline..)

so it has some premiums over this new BB10 style "web-shell" app..

did you request an update to the ProInsight developers?

Proinsights looks great. And the last update added some actual interactivity for posting and groups etc. It used to be just a visualizer but is now more fleshed out. Still needs more depth but very nice so far.

Urm, why pay for an app that's free on everyother platform?

The sideloaded android one whilst clunky works just fine imo

You can't afford $2 for a developer spending time and effort to make something for a device with a fraction of the audience as other platforms?

I don't get that.

I'm happy to have my playbook functionality improved with good native apps and happy to pay for it too.

If you're looking for free quality apps you'll be waiting a long time.

Hi Gang,
Isn;t this funny? All others (IOS and Androids) do not have to pay a penny for this and why Blackberry users need to pay 1.99? is this why RIM is almost at the exit door? Don't get me wrong I am a 12 years loayl BB customer and this is pissing me off. I do not mind paying for something thaters pay or something unique and others don't have. But this is absolute S__t.

It costs money because there are fewer users on playbook, so less ad revenue for developers. It's either pay 1.99 or don't get the app. Stop blaming RIM for a market reality. (btw, you spent more on your last cup of coffee than you will on this app, so let's apply a little perspective.

People complain about not enough apps and developers not making applications.

But if the users constantly complain when an application cost a little more than a coffee, well why should a developer bother.

This app is terrible. It's nothing more than a shell for the LinkedIn mobile site. Slow, clunky, and not even worth $1.99.

Why does CrackBerry give the time of day to these crap "apps".

I was a sucker. Do not buy.

I got a laugh into the "BlackBerry 10" comment. If this is the way BB10 will look, it will be a dismal failure.

We have only 1 complaint so far for this app which is currently #4 top paid app in BlackBerry App World (so with out giving away our sales figures it is significantly less than 1%). If you have any issues, with speed of the app, please send an unedited video of your device loading yahoo.com on the browser and this app. If this app runs significantly slower than your browser using the same internet connection, I will personally reimburse you for this app.

Sure, I will... but right inside the "app" it shows view "full site". It's obviously just a shell for the mobile site.

Should mention, the winner of KW's BB Jame Lightning Pitch today went to two folks that are incorporating BB 10 into upcoming robotic projects...

RIM maybe down, but the technology flowing threw Kitchener-Waterloo is pumping hard, not going to let RIM go down that easy!
