Back at BlackBerry DevCon this past fall, our own CrackBerry Adam caught the attention of the smartphone world with his discovery invention of the BlackBerry Kickstand. Using the battery door in the correct manner to prop up the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is a trick that has been used by many a Bold 9900 owner since.

Not to be outdone again by CrackBerry at CES2012, BlackBerry upped their game with the introduction of the BlackBerry Glove. Talk about an engineering triumph! While gloves with capactiive threading that allow you to wear them and still use touchscreen devices is a fairly big trend in the market, RIM had the brilliant idea to go simpler and better by simply cutting the tip of the glove off of the index finger and thumb. Check out the video above to see the BlackBerry Glove in action.

Simple. Effective. And it makes a fashion statement. Best yet? If you swing by the BlackBerry booth (#30326) at CES and are nice to the right people, you might be able to snag yourself a pair. Tell them CrackBerry sent you.

I'm with Adam on this one. As 'supercool' as they are (o_O), I'll have to pass. My fingertips are the part that get the coldest...

In all seriousness though, glad to see RIM do little things like those contests and give things away.

CrackBerry needs a contest for 100 of these or at least toss it in the shop CrackBerry website under "Fasion"

Cool but kinda stupid that they just cut the tips off..lol I have a pair of gloves that have "removable" index and thumb tips (they are 3/4 attached and you can slip them off and put them back on - WAY BETTER!

or you could just buy touch screen gloves off amazon for next to nothing they dont have holes in them but still work with touch screens

Make cuts in a knitted glove and you'll get more than you bargained for -- the gloves will start to disintegrate...very quickly. Not the same effect.

Vitam impendere vero

It's a nice thought but RIMM needs to stick to electronics. They can't afford to get distracted with hole infested apparel. A&F has that covered.

yeah, anyone can "make" those gloves, but these are official blackberry gloves made by RIM using only the finest blackberry products. soooo stop dissin' mane

hahahahahahahahaha!!!!

I cannot believe how seriously some people take themselves... It just a promotion and, I believe, a very good one - it says Blackberry - and you better believe that anyone at the show that could get their hands on a pair were happy to get one.
..
Sprint BB Bold 9930 and happy with BB, phone and Sprint(Since 1999)

@tomgnc it is crystal clear that the people to whom you've referred, which BTW comprise a significant number of commentators here, are business-illiterate, not much different from the plurality of entitlement-minded children being spewed by public education institutions in North America, wherein they have been indoctrinated rather than educated.

Haha, i love these. Got a pair frok RIM in my swag bag at the Ugly Sweater party in NYC. Laughed when i pulled them out of the bag!

Nice!!! Me and 30 Contestants got a pair of these along with a #9900 for the #BBMUglySweater Twitter Contest that @BlackBerry held in NYC.

hmm Rocky 1975 - think he had a pair too. Leave it to RIM to only go part of the way: either they ran out of money to make full gloves, or laid off the person cutting off the fingertips after 4 were done.

but have to agree...who the heck would use gloves that leaves fingers exposed in the frigid air? Why not removable tips that fold over and are only cut 3/4 of the way around so you could warm them up between BBM?

Really really stupid swag.

PS it was not the glove in action it was the ungloved fingers.

these could useful for many other things, like photography for one. but agreed, they should be working on getting skype to work on the pb.

Why not just get some regular gloves and cut the tops off them yourself? Or just get some fingerless gloves? Waste of money.
