Just in case you don't really fancy the black or white color options for your BlackBerry Q10, the fine folks at ColorWare have now announced they'll gladly go ahead and set you up with pretty much any color you want from their over 45 choices. In addition to the colors offered, you also get to select your finishing options where you can choose from solid and metallic, as well as matte and gloss, provided you don't mind some additional cost added to the price of the device for their services.

Jason Sobotta, VP Business of Development stated, “We’re excited to offer another smartphone to our collection, especially the Q10. It features the classic keyboard that so many customers are still using. Plus the new touch screen gives this classic phone a modern update. Whether it’s for business or personal it’s a great phone for staying connected throughout the day.”

I've always enjoyed the work put out by ColorWare but at the end of the day, cost is always a factor, and I can already hear everyone asking "How much?" Right now, it's a device only purchase and if you're looking to get your device colored more to your liking, you'll be looking to lay down $1100 along with a 7-10 day wait for the device to arrive. With that though, it's important to keep in mind that ColorWare maintains the 1-year warranty and the device you receive from them is also fully carrier unlocked. Anyone going to jump on this?

I like the black keys with the red phone, but the little chin piece below the keys should be black as well. Go to the site and design one this way, it looks a lot better.

Interesting. But damn that is pricey. Is it just GSM versions theyre selling? Or CDMA versions as well?

Love the idea, that red looks really sharp. That said I have issues with paying more for a paint job however professional or durable that costs more than the device.
I'm thinking to compare, a car that costs $20,000 then being told if I want it a different color that it would cost an extra $80,000.

Yeah...I would prefer $30 for a phantomskinz and call it a day.

Heck at $1100...I would rather add another 9 Benjamins and getting the 24kt gold Q10.

They should offer customization only as well. And needs it to be waaaaaay cheaper. From the disassembly videos on the net, its not really an arduous task to change the housing.

I would do it if they would just send parts. Only need battery door and back cover. Hell just a battery door in a customer color would be fine with me.

At $1100 it's a steal. I think I'll order a dozen right away.

Seriously, a paint job that costs as much as the entire phone? Thanks, but no thanks.

Folks, this is for the Hollywood elitists who just have to have, fer sher, some color coordination. Since it would be easy to sync your devices, I can imagine Hollywood stars wanting to have matching gowns, shoes, and Blackberry's on the red carpet. What's $1,000 to them? Nothing.

For 1100 I believe they give u a q10 so the paint job costs like 350 minus the phone price.

Yes it's still very pricey; but clearly a few posters thought it was just the paint job that costs $1100 and didn't realize that they got a phone as well.

OMG! Just read that price! Ridiculous IMO. But it looks nice (not $1100 nice!).

I've always loved CW, they do an amazing job. Back in the day when they started out, I used to have them do some custom jobs for my export customers to whom price was no object. Those were certainly the days....

too much...Phone will be switched every 2 years or sooner now...spending $1000+ but the , depreciation will go down fast.

Crazy cost for color. Even if it's a quality paint job...how is that worth an extra $500? Nah....nice idea though.

It's good to see that different customizations are available for Q10. Would stick to original black, though.

$1100 for unlocked Customized Q10 no contract.

Do the math, not that far off $200 to $300 custom job.

$1100.00? Sounds reasonable. Btw anyone want a 9900 blackberry. It comes with a myriad of colors by a future renowned artist, my 6 year old! The colors are water based, and done by hand.
Limited time offer! Only one available. If you're willing to pay $1100 for this other place, I'm sure you'll see the value of this once in a lifetime offer.

That sounds like an amazing deal, sign me up! If you'd rather I order a custom from ColorWare to just swap straight up, we could do that as well.

Sweet, I'm getting an exclusive.

U could buy the best airbrush and compressor for less than 1100 and have money left over. 1100 for a paint job is a joke. For something that takes about 4/5 hours max not including dry time

Posted via CB10

Ahh it's 1100 including the device. So about 400 for the paint. Not to bad I guess

And they warranted it for a year. If you were to do this yourself and had hardware issues you'd be out of luck.
