Colored Trackballs

Trackballs in colors other than OEM default of white or black (on the 8900) isn't a new thing. Dig through the CrackBerry forums and you'll find examples of CrackBerry Addicts who have taken it upon themselves color their balls by whatever means necessary (check out the dyed trackball picture gallery here).

What is new are commercially available colored trackballs. The folks at CNN.cn are now shipping BlackBerry trackballs Blue, Yellow, Purple and Red! The new colored balls sell for $7.99. 

Be sure to keep your eyes out for replacement trackballs in ShopCrackBerry.com - white are on the way and hopefully we'll follow up with more colors soon.

Yeah, I have a green, purple, red, orange, yellow, black, blue, turquoise, fuschia, and pink ball all in one.

I've heard a lot of good word about the black trackball CNN sells, and that its smoother than the standard white one.
Would these be the same as a sharpie-colored white trackball, or smooth as the black ones?

I'd go for the Red since i have the red numbers on the qwerty keyboard! That would match nicely...anyone care to post some pics if they do purchase? I'll do a search in Crackberry. I only seen the Black version

they are being sold on ebay with about 10 different colors and says they are oem and can take order for custom colors

Just go to www.berrymods.com. They are right in the United States, awesome customer service, and speedy delivery. I ordered from Cnn.cn a while back and never got my stuff after a full month.

I disagree with you completely. CNN.cn is a great company, everytime I order from them my order shows up within one week or maybe a little later because it is being shipped from HONG KONG. They provide tracking and have a great customer service system in place. If you are so concerned with the waiting time why don't you pony up a few extra dollars for express shipping. CNN.cn's has UNBEATABLE prices and I have been ordering from them since 2004, in fact, I just ordered the black trackball for my bold and I just recieved the new silver and black bezel...it took 1 week.
