'The Germinator' Cleans Your BlackBerry with Cyber Clean
If your like me, you have your BlackBerry in hand throughout the day and it tends to get dirty or greasy. At CES I happened to stumble upon the Cyber Clean booth, where they were demonstrating their cleaning product. Cyber Clean's flubber-like material is very easy to use. Simply press the material firmly down on your BlackBerry, peel off, and watch the dirt strip away. I have used other cleaning products in the past for my BlackBerry, but this by far has been the most impressive, leaving my device feeling as clean as the day I bought it. Cyber Clean also works great on most electronics, especially keyboards since the material can reach into the spaces between each of the keys. Their product is available in a few different model and pricing starts around $5.99.

Is it really going between BB's keyboard to pick up dusts??
ObiGeorge Jan 11, 2010 at 10:06 am
Yeah, it does
TwistedLIE Jan 11, 2010 at 9:59 am
Do you have to use that much on it or can you save the material for multiple goes?
ObiGeorge Jan 11, 2010 at 10:08 am
You get 70 uses on average
jorGeorge Jan 11, 2010 at 11:17 am
7 or 70?
DocMarten98 Jan 11, 2010 at 9:59 am
If this won't screw up my BB Tour's keyboard, I would consider using this. I just worry that the "flubber" could stuck down into the tight space between the keys. Need a better review of this first.

Looks like ghostbuster ectoplasm! "He slimed me!" But if it works, who cares!
dreedy1 Jan 11, 2010 at 10:11 am
LMFAO...that's kinda what I was thinking too!
valorian Jan 11, 2010 at 10:27 am
LOL....You beat me to it. I was just going to post that comment. :-)
rrrebo Jan 11, 2010 at 10:16 am
Does it leave that funky "foot" smell on your BB? That would be a dealbreaker. When I played with slime-type stuff as a kid, and even today, when my kids get it, my hands smell like feet for hours.
scuebydue Jan 11, 2010 at 10:45 am
My thoughts exactly!
ttfmaep Jan 11, 2010 at 10:25 am
I have used it about 4 times (same bag -- I am confident that there is are many more uses left.) It has a strong citrusy cleaner smell.
ColinYO Jan 11, 2010 at 10:40 am
So you get 7 uses does that mean that it would clean the trackball's aswell
joryoung Jan 11, 2010 at 10:43 am
This stuff is for sale at a bunch of regular retailers like Office Depot and Best Buy to which is nice because I seriously hate buying regular items off the web.
lampmanm Jan 11, 2010 at 10:44 am
engadget first used this to try and clean a keyboard, didnt work at all
meehan23 Jan 12, 2010 at 4:30 am
Those morons were trying to remove some disgusting grime from their keyboard. It looks like the product is just meant for dust, crumbs, ect...
Prafeston Jan 11, 2010 at 10:58 am
This looks like a really cool product!
davidnc Jan 11, 2010 at 11:09 am
Too bad they dont offer a free sample patch to test out on whatever you want it for. :/
CB.Mike-D Jan 11, 2010 at 11:47 am
I use it all the time whether Im at home or work with my blackberry or in my car, it works great anywhere that has dirt and dust that you cant get at and clean!
RedNightHawk Jan 11, 2010 at 11:49 am
I'd be as likely to use this myself as to slap it on other people's BB's just to see the look on their face when they came back to see it. "I dunno what happened, I was just sitting here while you were in the kitchen and it started oozing out this green slime. Do you think it's going to burst out in flames?"
Yeah, it's mean, but they'd wind up with a nice clean BB afterwards. No pain, no gain.
izzzy12k Jan 11, 2010 at 12:20 pm
If I saw someone toss that goo onto my phone...
That would be good reason to pop them once in the face! But then to only find out they were cleaning it for me, it would leave me in their debt for like forever. lol!
berto1286 Jan 11, 2010 at 12:01 pm
If you're like me you'll hate the first sentence of this post. I can forgive and forget in the forums, but you should proof read the front page at least. Other than that, I probably wouldn't use this goo. Just a Q-tip and duster spray.

I wonder how this would work for the storm 2? This product does look stupid.

For a few months now. Purchased at Radio Shack. It works and works very well.
I do not recommend getting to aggressive with it on a track ball or the key board. I have had to work at getting some back out. Kinda cool it wants to be together, so some dabbing gets it out of those areas.
Very pleased and will continue using this product. Oh it also smells ok, kinda clean smelling.

for a while. I have friends that run a daycare that have this goop for for the kids to use (that freak out when you try to wash their hands), and they just have the parents buy a big jug of it, so their kid can use their own baggy of it during the week, and put more in a baggy at the start of the week.
Does it work? No idea, but if it keeps the under 2 year olds from freaking out and lemony fresh, all the better, at least until their parents get them over that stage at home.
Massonite Jan 11, 2010 at 9:11 pm
They have this stuff at The Source, they demonstrated it to me and it's pretty cool! Might get me some soon.

I read about the cyber clean on the crackberry web site, needless to say I was very interest in it! I have the tour and keyboard was looking pretty dirty, I work in the construction field and dust is every where! I bought it today at radio shack, and use it!! I was very impressed!!! It cleaned my keyboard with ease and it even got it in between and under! I know everyone was fear full of it "slime getting stuck under the keyboard, it did, but after re applying it, it self adhered to itself and came right out! Great around the screen and track ball!!
At first I was hesitant but, thought why not give it a try! It worked amazingly!!! I highly recommend it to anyone!! I give it 5 out of 5!!!
its a must have for any BB owner!
