As I'm sure most folks know, early days at RIM were interesting and the company went from making LED notification systems for use on General Motors' assembly lines to working with the National Film Board of Canada on a system for synchronizing film editing.
Eventually, they got around to releasing the Inter@ctive Pager but before they could do that, there was some testing of those devices that had to take place. Take a look at the video above and see how in the early days of RIM they used to test the send and receive functions on those pagers while they were in motion.
Not only is that some beautiful carpentry, that's some awesome engineering. No app or software needed for that.
