Chalk Announces Chalk Pushcast Software For The BlackBerry Enterprise Solution

Here is some news for you all in the enterprise space. Shortly after the announcement of RIM seeking new employees for their Fredericton, New Brunswick location. Chalk Media has announced their newly branded Chalk Pushcast Software version 5.4. The services formerly known as Mobile Chalkboard.

The pushed content application which is used to deliver rich media content such as video and audio to BlackBerry smartphones through the BlackBerry enterprise server saw new features such as a new UI, deeper integration with BES, SSL security for web access and support for OS 5 added to the mix. My company is just starting our Chalk pushcast environment so I've had positive first-hand experience with deploying Chalk via BES.

This newest version available is very well done. It does support devices with 5.0 and accurately recognizes all of the new Verizon devices we've been buying, correctly distinguishing between touch vs non-touch.

Technical support has been good so far too. We found last Friday that the 8530 wasn't listed in the "supported device" logic for the BES client. Monday I was notified that they updated the package to include that device. Probably a small change, but nice that they're so responsive!

Is it me or this the mobile version of MS Groove or Google Wave?
Anyone know when Google Wave Mobile Beta is coming out?
