Case-Mate announced today they will be adding a new line of protective skins to their lineup of BlackBerry cases. The new go Bare protective films will be solution-free "instant application" skins for all devices. The invisible film will protect the entire device, without the need of any sprays or solution for application. You will be able to apply, reapply and take off the film as many times as needed with no damage or residue on the device itself.

"With go Bare, we're using cutting-edge technology to create a new category of solution-free mobile phone protection - an invisible film that completely shields against potential nicks and scratches without compromising the look of the device," said Shashi Reddy, founder and CEO, case-mate. "While many people like to adorn their device with colorful cases, there are just as many who want to preserve its beauty and go Bare is the ideal solution, as it's easy-to-use, offers maximum protection and maintains the integrity of the product's original design."

The go Bare line will be available in mid-February for most devices and cost $24.99 for full-body protection. For more information check out case-mate.com. Full press release after the jump.

CASE-MATE ANNOUNCES GO BARE: THE FIRST SOLUTION-FREE PROTECTIVE FILM FOR MOBILE DEVICES

Provides an instant, invisible cover that preserves the original beauty of today's mobile phones while offering top-grade defense against daily wear and tear

LAS VEGAS - January 6, 2010 - Case-mate, a designer of innovative accessories for mobile devices and electronics, today announced go Bare, a revolutionary instant application protective film system for mobile phone users who want to safeguard their device while honoring its inherent design. Go Bare's invisible military-grade film covers the entire device for the ultimate defense against daily use, bumps and drops. It is the first protective film on the market that offers an instant application - users do not need to employ any sprays or solutions as is required with other film protectors on the market today.

Go Bare with go Bare
The case-mate go Bare is the ultimate in mobile phone protection and offers the following features and benefits:
· Instant Application - Unlike other protective offerings, go Bare works without any sprays, solutions or drying time - Users apply the self-adhesive go Bare with just their thumb - and they have the option to apply, reapply, take off and manipulate the film as many times as needed.
· Design Preservation - go Bare keeps mobile phones looking brand new without disrupting the look and tactile feel of the device's original design.
· Daily Defense - Created using tough military-grade materials, go Bare is extremely durable.
· Long-Lasting - go Bare is guaranteed to last longer than traditional screen protectors and comes with a Lifetime Warranty.

Pricing and Availability
The case-mate go Bare will be available for the Apple®, BlackBerry®, Motorola® and HTC® mobile devices in mid-February 2010. It can be purchased at www.case-mate.com for $24.99, which includes a single set of protector films for the front, back and sides of the device.

Appleluver23

Lol. I thought at first that they meant free cases too!

dLo GSR

does this mean no orange-peel?

mike340t

So no more soapy water and being afraid to over-wet phone...
The only thing missing is a contest to win some :)

jkpitcher

My friend had a film like this put on but started to peel off and made the phone sticky so i did not go got it. I had cases so this looks like something I migth try. Will let other be pinnie pigs first and see what the reviews are like.

david2g

I had the bodygaurdz film on my phone before. Liked it, but hard to keep finger prints and smuges off. I wonder how this one will do.

jorGeorge

$25? You're kidding me right?

fozzie66

i rather get a case then get this dumb thing

asianguy80

and I hope it won't start to yellow and peel off likewith the "Invisible Shield" I think I'll wait and see what others results are before diving in...especially at this price.

At least with Invisible Shield they gave an explicit replacement policy that if any defects were to arise they would replace it for the cost of shipping and the return of the old skin along with the pain of reapplying the new one.

Smoky311

so....no contest then? Mannnnn.....

EnergyPlus

Having just had my Storm 2 drop to the parking lot ground yesterday (holster had flipped upside down and then I bumped against the car, knocking the phone out...SICKENING sound!), I would be interested in this, but I can't imagine just how much a FILM protector would help in this type of situation. I can see it protecting against scratches, but drops?

BrianFTC

$25 - yeah, I agree. To compete with cases, the price needs to be at least under $15, I think. Just curious to see if it can handles being in and out of pockets all the time without being peeled off.

beerman1950

full coverage, even keyboard?! pic don't show full! 25 bucks should cover all forever, bubbles? peel at mating points? free for the first one would create intrest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

undermine

No thanks. Give me a real case.

BiggDaddy485

I wouldn't pay more than 10 bucks for something like this... For $25, I'll buy some kind of protective case with a belt clip... Good idea guys, just bring the price down if you expect my business...

Bla1ze

*cough* http://is.gd/5TZK6 That's preemptive....just sayin'

snohman

the price is the exact range for someone looking into the invisibleshield and bodyguardz screen protector films.

i abhor all cases, because it adds bulkiness to the phone and collects dust like none other (especially the rubber skins). this is aiming specifically at the people who use invisibleshields & bodyguardz, but probably would love to be able to re-apply it at will anytime.

oh and the retail price of those products are also $25.
