If you've using Cast for BlackBerry 10 alongside your Chromecast, you'll want to make sure you're on the latest version. The app has a new update showing in BlackBerry World and although the change log is short, it has some overall improvements to make the app experience better.

The UI has seen some minor updates and some more polish to make it look even better and on top of that, the media controls have been improved to be more responsive. If you've got a Chromecast and haven't yet checked out Cast for BlackBerry 10, give it a look on BlackBerry World.

Many of us don't have TVs with Miracast. Nor does the Z10 support Miracast. So that's a non-starter.

Wish I could Chromecast more than YouTube from my Z10, though.

You're right about that. I'm not a Netflix subscriber so it just wasn't on my radar. Is there other content that the Cast app can send to a Chromecast?

I have never been able to get Netflix to show the chromecast icon on my Z30 in any version I have ever downloaded using Snap including up to the latest version.

Netflix does cast on my z30 using chime cast. Perhaos because I'm on 10.3. Did not work with 10.2.1

I've also heard that it works on 10.3 but I am still trying to figure why. It shouldn't need 10.3 because although 10.3 brings LE Bluetooth, Chromecast doesn't use it.

Are you saying that you can chromecast Netflix from the Android Netflix app to your TV using Cast?

You don't need Cast as Chromecast is built into Android versions of Netflix but it doesn't always reveal itself on BlackBerry phones.

Not really... I'm not a Google can, but chromcast is a home run. The beauty of it, is that for $35 your phone is free to do whatever. I can select a nefkix movie, and then play clash of clans while the movie plays on TV.

Miracast is just a dummy mirror, and requires phone power to use it. Chromcast allows for the phone to be turned off once the video is playing. Far more useful.

Not a Google fan either. It's not their frickin' business* to know what I'm watching, and it's not even X-rated...

(* it actually is :-( )

 BlackBerry? I premdict the future's gonna be chenomenal! 

Agreed. I'm sick of seeing people whine because they're too cheap to pay 2 dollars for an app. I would rather pay than have ads everywhere anyway.

Sorry Bla1ze. I think Chromecast sucks!!! Tried it and returned.

I use the built in Miracast with a wIDI device to my TV.

I can't cast my entire phone or use Playon to cast video/music/pictures/ youtube/bbm video.

No additional software reliance.

Can anyone confirm plex works with chrome cast? I don't have one yet but I'll get one if the plex app works with it

Kudos to the developer for continued updates. If I didn't have a Smart TV, I'd definitely consider the Chromecast and this app.
