Case-Mate Barely There Case for the BlackBerry Bold 9700

The Case-Mate Barely There case is one of my favorite accessories. It comes in a variety of colors, and gives a unique look to your device to set it apart from the others. It doesn't add a lot of bulk or weight to the device, and provides a good amount of protection for everyday use. This isn't a full-protection case and it really won't save you from bumps and bruises if you drop your BlackBerry, but it will keep it protected on the back and sides from everyday wear and tear. Take a look at the video for a good overview of the Barely There case.

This looks nearly identical to the case that i got for my curve 8530 from verizon. I usually don't purchase accessories from verizon directly but i had 30% off and it looks awesome. Also, the satin/rubberish feel is perfect for me.

carriers like Verizon will bulk purchase accessories like this and then re-sell them in their own branded packaging. So, I wouldnt be surprised if vzw was selling case-mate products. i've even seen seidio in their packaging.

These cases would be great if they had a hole for the speakerphone. It muffles the sound of the speaker.

the biggest problem i get with this phone is it scratches the bezel. other than that it does look cool. i stopped using mine though

i fell for the hype of these cases cus they are so sleek looking, add no weight to the phone....but protection is really lacking, so i dont get why people love these. they are too slippery, not as rubberized as other products, so it makes it even harder to keep in hand. i was sorely disappointed, especially after denting the top of my bezel. wish it offered better protection. if that is what you are looking for, i def do not recommend the barely there case :(

for the look. It does look nice, especially in the blue in the video. But it seems like it provides no protection whatsoever. I think an interchangeable battery door in different colours would be just as good.

yup

i mean the case scratches the bezel on the phone when you take it off and back on. not the best case out there

I just got one a few weeks ago. I find the case great because i dont like bulky cases and it comes with a screen protector and a lint free cloth. Got mine in black.

This case just saved my ass as well last week as I dropped my phone so hard it knocked the internal speaker loose but the case took the hit and the phone was perfectly mint, allowing me to get my phone warrantied with ZERO hassle. Now its on my new 9700 working away great :)

In addition I'm not sure what everyone is talking about this case scratching your phone. I have had mine since I got my phone and it never scratched the bezel. when I warrantied my phone it was still in perfect condition. Maybe its because I actually pry the case away when I remove it so that it doesn't drag across the bezel, but why would you ever need to remove the case so often that it would scratch the phone? Quickpull removes the need for battery pulls and everything plugs in with the case on.

Great case for the size!

how about if you drop your phone and the top/bottom of the bezel is exposed and gets scratched/dented? maybe youve been lucky so far, but doesnt mean that case will protect it forever. this case is more of a glorified battery cover protector...nice and pretty and light, but not protective...

how you would you rate this?
I use an innocase on my 8330 and would use one on a 9700 if I had it because it provides more protection for about the same thickness.

I got the chrome one... It sure makes for seamless transition with the side but then makes it terribly slippery to hold. But hey, it protects it from dropping! Backwards hopefully!

this case is useless. it sells for alomst $40 CAD - not worth more than $5 for what it actually covers

Just got an Epik case for my BB. Highly recommend it ... and the price is right too!! Provides much better protection than this case.

i am interested in this case, seems like a step up from a basic silicone skin, which is what i prefer.

Sorry for the double post. Reading my comment once is enough. Is there a way to get rid of duplicates?

The Innocase Snap looks to be better.

a. Is it just me or does that person seem to have unusuall large hands.

b. If someone loves their chrome so much why cover it up? I never really understood this. People getting great devices and then covering them all up so that they can't enjoy looking at them.

I guess it's like wearing expensive lingerie. But at least I get to see that at the end of the day. And when I'm lucky...

My hands are normal size - they just look bigger on camera I guess :)

I brought one online and received it yesterday, I notice right away the speakers on the phone are cover by the case!

Just wondering if it affects how easily the 9700 slides in and out of the leather holster. I'm assuming that because it's surface is slippery, and it's thin, that it won't interfere. Any comments on that?

Thanks.

before you spend the $...if you love your phone and want to protect from dents and scratches, this is NOT the case for you...
