Are you a BlackBerry developer? Do you want to attend a BBM Hackathon event near you? We have your ticket!
Following up on their successful BBM Hackathon in NYC, RIM has announced more hackathon events across the globe. If you're a developer and want to enter for a chance to attend one of the events near you, we have your ticket. RIM has partnered with CrackBerry to let us run our own contest and pick two worthy BlackBerry developers to attend each BBM Hackathon event on behalf of CrackBerry Nation. The winners will receive an invite to the event, one night's accommodation and a BlackBerry Prize pack that includes a BlackBerry 7 device. If you're a winner in Toronto, Chicago or San Francisco, you'll also win a pass to attend DevCon Americas and accommodations for the duration of the conference. What more could you ask for?! Keep reading for details on the events and how to enter.

How to Apply
To apply, send an email directly to me at kevin@crackberry.com. Make the subject of the email BBM Hackathon Application. The odds are good that if you're an established BlackBerry developer I'm going to know who you are already, but regardless let me know your company name, the apps you have built previously, why you want to attend (give me a little brief of the app you want to make), which event you will attend (remember we have two passes for each event) and make sure you meet all the eligibility requirements above. Me, Adam and Bla1ze will be pow wowing to decide the winner and who gets to go on behalf of CrackBerry (we may accept bribes... so if you want to try and bribe us make it good!). Good luck!!

why does it seem like all the developers in these videos are using mac book pros. i hate macos. they make nice hardware but i cant stand the os
Bla1ze Oct 5, 2011 at 3:59 am
Guess you failed to notice that while they were using MacBooks -- they were running Windows. Truth is, from my experience -- Windows actually runs better on a Mac then any other hardware.

Chicago event is today, and Kevin never even had the decency to respond to my email. Par for the course.

Well, I don't see any event happening in Bangkok according to this page:
http://bbmappshackathon.com/index.php
Am I missing something?
And if it's not in Bangkok, I may not be able to make it. :(

Did anyone get a response or an invite on this? Does it sound like an old forgotten post or what?
Moreover, we have flooding in Bangkok, do we still have the event planned at all?
