Still waiting for the big one... With bbm, email, etc. Common RIM!

BBM is already on the Playbook.

Not the way it should be. BBM via the BB Bridge is slow and continues to have numerous bugs. I'm pretty sure you knew what I was meaning :p

BBM Through bridge is a lot faster now with BBM 6.

That's enticing.... I might have to give BBM6 a try then... Thanks for the tip.

I noticed this too. I though it was for Facebook because when I installed 1.0.7 the first time there was no Facebook. After that small update, I noticed Facebook came back.

I Agree with you, because after the big update. The Facebook change his language setting to English (I have configure the Playbook to Spanish), far that I reinstall the Facebook App from the App World to the version 1.0.4 (was installed 1.0.41, and sorry if the ver is incorrect I only remember the .4 in the App World and .41 in the OS).
After of that I receive the update (without requesting for a reboot) and the I return to the .41 version (and in the App World was still the .4 version).

I got this 4MB update a couple of days ago and was going to open a thread but thought I may have deleted something although no new icons appear after the update...

Bridge has been working flawlessly for me with my Torch on 6.0.0.600

If this indeed included bug fixes they should have change the version, to at least 1.0.7.2671 to avoind confusion, maybe they are slowly pushing it to try passing it under the table...

Bla1ze, the duplicate icons are because the developers have used different signing certificates when they re-sign the update to that app, not sure how easy a fix OS wise that is, but if devs use the same certificate, then wouldnt be an issue (lookin at you FB devs).

Thank you for pointing this out. Let's try to nip this "It's RIM's fault!" chatter in the bud. I guess some people don't like reading the developer guides.

This duplicate icon thing happened to me with Facebook 2.0 too so that means not even RIM is reading those guies? lol...

Ah, that makes sense. I would think that would still be fixable through App World, though. Considering it still knows to replace the old version of the app there, why can't they also delete the old version from the device in those cases of developer fail?

My bridge has been acting up lately, for some reason my email messages do not load. I just get the loading circle and nothing. I hope I get this update and hope it fixes my issue. I am bridged to a Storm 2 by the way 5.0.0.1015.

Posted by chiefbroski Thursday, Jul 28, 2011 300 days ago

I had this exact same issue except I have a Storm 1 5.0.0.973.

Security wipe fixed the thing and was as good as new. Don't wait, I did and the new update didn't do anything.

Backup your playbook, Security wipe that badboy, reinstall your apps (yes, your paid ones will be waiting for you in app world too) and have fun with messages over bridge.

No update for me BUT I haven't used bridge for at least 3 weeks. :( Sadly.

Yeah, this happened to me. I already had the newest update, but then randomly it said that there was a new update. Oddly, I came here first to see if there was an article about a new update and noticed there was nothing here. After that, I noticed it was under the same version number. So, yeah, you folks are not alone.

I can think of a reason why there would be a small update for some, but it's pure speculation. What if the last update put in the code that allows updates to change only what they need to instead of re-installing the entire OS (I know you Crackberry people keep talking about it in the podcast, but I can't remember the name), and this was just a quick test of it. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

No, I wish... I keep getting prompted to install Files & Folders--you know, the application you buy to have the basic file management inexplicably and weakly left off the launch and yet to be addressed--but it won't install and won't delete and reinstall, even at cost.

Not going to do The Security Wipe Dance every time RIM updates the O.S., even if I get false positive asterisks in the upper left every time I pick up the device, which "fortunately" is less and less often until this device and its applications start picking up the pace.

Drooling over MaxiPad's daily new killer music composition and graphic design tools... but unlike Adam, who messed it up for everyone, I've thus far resisted Eve's temptations to take a bite...

Kill the snake RIM, please... use that beloved corporate layoff fear to customers' advantage sooner than later and stop with these embarrassing mistakes and sins of omission!

Aaaah stop whining. And your Biblical Creation Story analogy doesn't really work either.

Ok fella, I'll wipe my device every time RIM updates...

I got it last night. Interesting that the version number didn't change. But I haven't noticed any changes in performance. It must have minor bug fixes only.

The one thing I did notice is that until I downloaded this small update file I used to be able to charge my PB with any charger. Now I must use the one that was supplied.......

I don't think it was an update. I think that when you delete the second facebook it reacts like it does when you delete the yahoo or gmail apps. I may be wrong but that's when the update popped up for me....right after I deleted the second icon.

Icons still doubled up after upgrading an app. Have to manually delete old one.
