Bravo release their app for BlackBerry 10 - TV addicts rejoice!

By James Richardson on 14 Jan 2014 12:10 pm EST

NBCUniversal Media have released the Bravo app into BlackBerry World for you folk that like to catch up on TV clips on your BlackBerry 10 smartphone. It looks like this one will be regional so you'll need to be in the USA to take advantage of it.

The Bravo app will allow you to watch preview clips, re-cap videos, view unseen bonus material and more from shows such as The Real Housewives and Top Chef.

Although I'm not able to run the Bravo app myself as I'm in the UK it looks like it does a pretty neat job and also includes a TV schedule as well as full information about the available shows.

Bravo is free to download for all BlackBerry smartphones but unfortunately is US only. Give it a try and hit up the comments with your thoughts.

No EU version. To bad :(

Good bring it to Canada

Posted via CB10

Oh trust me Canadian 'Bravo' and USA 'Bravo' are completely different things and you want nothing to do with the USA version... Our Bravo is like Slice by you guys.

I'm sure this will be very popular.

I'm really getting sick of regional limitations by broad casters.

If we get the channel in Canada then why not the programing. Same deal goes for website access content.

I agree

Dave Bourque

They live in the TV era. Eventually they will be forced to adapt and not region lock.

Because programme rights are sold region by region or country by country. Even the programmes the channels commission themselves have limited rerun rights from the programme rights owner (there's the whole syndication thing).
If you think all these different groups are going to give up getting extra money just because you don't like it, you're sadly mistaken.

The issue is not at the broadcasters level but at the content producers level (they might be the same although).

This will not change.... because wanting more money for what the produce will not go away.

Now if only they had good shows...

I know what you mean. I always skip this channel when I'm surfing the boob tube.

Another US only app for a market that goes out of its way to dis BlackBerry.

...we are all connected...

At least it's giving US customers more reasons to look at BlackBerry. We may not like it but whatever gets the US to take a look at BB10 and get some traction going.

True enough. A friend was in a store in Tennessee yesterday to get rid of her iPhone and pick up a Z10, store employee told her not to get that phone as it is a terrible phone. She insisted on the Z10 and they told her they had none is stock. When she was going to leave with nothing they magically found one they had in Stock but would not help her set it up or transfer contacts or anything. Pretty sad!

...we are all connected...

Yeah, that is pretty sad. Maybe if BlackBerry had their own stores or something...

BlackBerry should open their own stores. Let people see BlackBerry is still a serious player with solid products.

They had some stores. Major flops that closed down. Only find a few in eu now.

BB Adict

Blackberry sales would never support their own stores.

Addict for 10 years, but it may be time to get off this drug.

Punch that guy in the face! He asked for it!

At least she finally got her way and walked out with a Z10! She's planning on upgrading to Z30 in Oct or something.

...we are all connected...

She should have said no thanks, and taken her $ somewhere else.

We get the same pathetic sales experience here in Canada.

It was a free upgrade to her so no $ out of her pocket

...we are all connected...

I'm thankful for all these TV apps. Sadly I haven't used any of them (CBS, ABC, etc) but I haven't had a chance yet. I'm just glad they are available for use so keep the trend going! Find whatever apps and games are popular on the other platforms and bring them to blackberry world. no sideload / complicated installed / leaked OS requirements etc. keep it simple!

No Love for the Q10 yet again! That is starting to get on my nerves!!

I'm on a Q10 and it works fine.

It's very unique and cool

We need some UK TV love. Sky Go would be popular here

I'm glad that there is yet another good app for BB10 but at the same time I am increasingly frustrated that the big networks can't get it enabled for use in the Canadian market.
I, like many millions of Canadians, pay my cable/sat co. for ABC, CBS, NBC, Bravo etc so why don't I have the option to use their apps? Is it CRTC to blame?

Yes. CRTC is to blame for this. But, you won't hear CTV, Global, or other Canadian network complaining about it. It's all about advertising.

I like BB10...and that's all that matters to me.

No available in EU. Same story again and again

Frank McIntyre

This is annoying. All the big channels like bravo have apps, but only available for a country that barely has bb10 users. That doesn't make sense.

Posted via CB10

I noticed that ABC Player and ABC Family apps are no more in Blackberry World. They were such great apps with full episodes. Anybody knows about them?

ken Ontae

Its just clips. At least that was my brief experience. It has already been removed.

Z!0, Nothing Compares

The app works great. Watched top chef while waiting for a meeting to start.

NBC coming in and ABC on the way out!

Stop bawling, the shows available are as follows:
The real housewives of Miami, Top Chef, Thicker than water, Vanderpump rules. Some BS!
BTW I am located in Europe and still able to get it.
VPN is your friend.

Please feel free to let BlackBerry World know that when an app is blocked from being downloaded... explaining why (eg country is blocked) would be really helpful vs. "not available for this device"

That said I'd love to get a bravo app for Canada

Doesn't work over miracast says Hdmi playback not allowed, disconnect cable and try again :(

WHy no bring it to Canada. You make a blackberry app and decide not to offer it to Canadians. Just doesnt seem to make any sense to me.

Thanks for the app! Maybe it will prompt a few more channels to follow suite. I'm a US consumer and would certainly enjoy seeing more TV apps.

So another clip app? Don't other platforms have full show viewing support?? Yet BlackBerry® gets another crippled app? Smh
