By ObiGeorge on 15 Jan 2010 10:17 am EST

We have posted a few times on the application Blurts. If you haven't heard, it is an application that connects your BlackBerry and PC via bluetooth, allowing you to view email, sms, and incoming call alerts directly on your PC. Along with its current features, Blurts has added the following:

  • SMS message threading with chat history and ability to have more that one SMS window open at once
  • Option to split messages larger than 160 characters into multiple messages
  • Capture of images from your BlackBerry's screen
  • Option to auto lock PC once Blurts disconnects
  • Now supporting Broadcom Bluetooth drivers
  • Importing of your BlackBerry's address book for alerts
  • Contacts photo will display from address book when receiving an alert
  • 2-Way transfer of clipboard
  • Non-English characters now supported
  • Location of alert on desktop is now customizable

If you're looking to give Blurts a go, they also have a trial version, however it does not include all of the new features features. The application is compatible with all devices running OS 4.2.1 and higher.

Contest: We have 50 copies of Blurts to give away. Just leave a comment on this post to enter. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST. Please only leave one comment, multiple entries wont count.

Blurts Updated to Version 1.1 - 50 Free Copies to Give Away

Okay that is possibly the most retarded and douchebagish' subject ever!

Blurts is freakin amazing. CrackBerry makes me feel so cool with all my information which I share with friends while I'm feeling a little crazy.

In return for a copy of Blurts, I promise to never be author a comment like this-ever again.

wonder if you could use it to work between blackberrys. I just started being interested in finding a way to share info from my BB with my wifes BB. Do you think its possible.

I used to have an app that did some of these things years ago to Motorola phones. Over USB. Slowly.

Over Bluetooth with full SMS? That would rock.

love the idea as i am always on my laptop this could finally get me away from my BB for a few minutes :D not that i dont love my bb .. but to save it the hassle of gettin out of the charge pod every few minutes and ruining my battery !

I've been watching this app since it came out. Definitely curious to try it out. Thanks for another great contest!

This reminds me of a little piece of software I used with my Sony Ericsson P910i which made it accessable from your desktop.. you could send/receive/write sms, mms and email.. don't think it had the ability to receive calls using your desktop but loved it while I had it would love this for my BB.

I NEED this app. My world revolves around my phone and bluetooth. I bought a 250 dollar bluetooth radio just so it could Sync with my 9700 :D
And with this app I could connect my 9700 with my netbook :D

I would love to win this app. It would come in handy at work when all i do is sit in front of a computer all day

Not only does this update provide greater features, but it looks like it extends support as well- Expanding on Broadcom devices is FTW cuz Broadcom makes just about every receiver I own!

Seriously, this would cut out deleting messages daily, and give you the threaded SMS EVERYONE is dying for! plus it would negate the need for CaptureIt (which is great) and give you a little more memory in return! Good luck to everyone! :)

Looks like a good program.. Maybe I'll win this one? Enter these all the time and never win anything.,...

My real question is when you send an SMS or email using Blurt. Do the messages get stored on your Blackberry or only on your PC. Also if it is going to copy your contacts why not have two way sync so I could edit my Blackberry contacts on my PC.

This might come in very handy with the cradle I just ordered.

Really looking forward to get my hands on a copy.

I have to say, this is a very nice application since I'm always on my computer, and i will be nice to get noticed whenever i get a msg or email, etc... THIS IS MY FIRST COMMENT I LIVE HERE ON CRACKBERRY!!!!! lol hopping to get it for free =)

Since I'm a new blackberry owner I'm always trying to get the most convenient software out there for me to use. I would love to try this out. Thanks:)

i would really like to get a copy of this.. looks really cool, plus i think it could benefit me... as well as others here in my company...

thanks and i hope i am chosen.

This sounds like a very useful tool for when I am working. I will be able to reply to email & txt messages from my PC. As a productivity tool it could be awesome.

I would love a copy of this.

Thanks for passing this great application in the contest.
even if i dont win, i like to post comment on just to create a good contest, thanks again

I have a friend with this app on a 9700. I looked pretty interesting and he seemed to able to manipulate text pretty easily, so I'd like to give it a try.

It just amazes me what all of these talented developers come up with for my beloved BB...this sounds like the best app yet & sure hope I win a free copy! Thank you for such a great giveaway!!!
