We've known for a while now the BlackBerry Curve 8520 will be coming to Rogers and today we got some more information regarding its official launch time frame. An email went out to some Rogers employees today declaring the Curve 8520 is indeed coming and that all employees were to login to their training systems and get fully trained up on the device itself.

Now come and learn how to position the BlackBerry Curve 8520 as a solution for your customers need.

You can expect the Rogers BlackBerry Curve 8520 to launch the first week of October, but of course I'm guessing if you're reading this and on Rogers you're more than likely holding out for the BlackBerry 9700 which should hopefully launch shortly after.

bQuiet - Automate Sound Profile Switching

bQuiet

When you're running around all day from meeting to meeting and office to office, the last thing you want to remember is to change your BlackBerry profile. We've all been there - sitting in a meeting when your wild ringtone blasts out because you forgot to silence your profiles. Well with bQuiet this task will be much easier. The app allows you to quiet your profiles and will automatically turn them back on after a set amount of time. This means you can kill your alerts with one click, and not have to worry about anything going off. You can choose anywhere from 15 minutes to 10 hours before your profiles return to normal. Knowing your schedule you can just click bQuiet on, and set the length depending on your needs. This can definitely help out in preventing any ringtone embarassment. bQuiet is available in the CrackBerry App Store for $2.99.

Free SmartBBattery Shows Battery Status As An Icon

SmartBBattery

I came across a cool free app this weekend called SmartBBattery. The app is simple - it places an icon on your screen that displays you current battery status. The icon changes color (green, yellow or red) depending on your charge, and also shows the remaining battery life as a percentage. Thats all there is to it. SmartBBattery is a no frills app that gets the job done. The app works on all devices running OS4.2 or higher.

Lucky7Slots

Looking for a quick, easy game to play? Well check out Lucky7Slots. We all know how the game works, so you're ready to play as soon as you download. Lucky7Slots has amazing graphics, realistic slot machine sounds, the ability to bet multiple credits and more. You can "swipe to spin" on the Storm or use the animated handle - you can even save your credits so you don't have to worry about losing them when you exit the game. I'm a big fan of slot machine games for some reason, and this is one of the best to date. Lucky7Slots is available in the CrackBerry App Store for only $1.99 through September 18th.

BIS 2.8 Rollout Coming in September?

BIS

It looks like Ronen got a good scoop on the upcoming release of BIS 2.8. Some good things in store, including Two-way Google contact sync, automatic login and Hotmail revalidation. It looks as if the new features may only work with devices running OS 5.0 however. The upgrades are set for Setpember 10th, with some other features coming shortly after. I'm not sure how I feel about the Google contact sync without two-way IMAP - but we'll see what pans out. What are your thoughts? See details of what's new below. And thanks to everyone that sent this in!
