The folks over at Hedone Design let us know that their first application for the BlackBerry PlayBook under the name i-Mentlist, called VCMS (Vehicle Counters and Monitoring System) has been updated to v2.0. This new version not only adds some interesting new features but also brings support for BlackBerry 7 devices as well.

For those unfamiliar with VCMS, this is a GPS based application that displays all the information you'll ever need on the road, water, or in the sky all with its elegant design and eye-catching dials. While it already features a compass, speed meter, two trip counters, location and time, just to name a few, it now includes the following updates:

• Lap timer
• Social networks (including BBM on BB7 devices)
• Statistics (you can export it and import them to Google maps, or similar and check your routes)
• Maximum speed
• Average speed
• Speed alarms (yes, not alarm but alarms)

VCMS is compatible with BlackBerry 9220, 9350/60/70/80/90, 9790, 9810/50/60, 9900/30/81 and the BlackBerry PlayBook running OS 1.0 and higher. You can find it at the link below for $2.99 in BlackBerry App World.

Last week I told you about Fresco, the latest theme release by popular theme developer Pootermobile. Little did I realize he had a surprise up his sleeve. By that I mean Pootermobile has released his first OS7 compatible theme for select devices. With the help of two fellow theme developers, BBThemes and drkapprenticeDESIGNS, Pootermobile has seemlessly transitioned the best of the original Fresco to OS7 and the result is brilliant. All of the unique features that made Fresco what it is are there including the smooth looking transparent banner with dedicated weather slot (#19) and the intricately designed icon set.

Now that he's built his first OS7 theme I can't wait to see what he has in store for us next. Fresco is wallpaper friendly (though I prefer the default background), stylish, uses the default OS7 layout, and is compatible with BlackBerry 9350/60, 9790, and 9900/30 running OS7. It's been a busy year so far for BerryGlowDesigns. First, they celebrate their 1-year anniversary, then they design an awesome CrackBerry PlayBook wallpaper and matching 99xx wallpaper, and now to thank everyone for their support they've gone and updated their popular Sharp!Ice and Sharp!Pink themes to v2.0. As such, the functionality is more intuitive on the premium versions, the UI's on both the free and premium versions were given a facelift, and minor glitches were corrected. What it boils down to is that BGD has revamped, rebuilt, and redesigned these elegant and beautiful creations to make them better than before.

First drkapprenticeDESIGNS wowed us with Mini_Banner. Then they released Mini Banner_Live with the help of @_Lucky45 which exploded in popularity in the forums. This time, they've outdone themselves with De_Nex7. You will be blown away by the level of customization and attention to detail for select OS6/OS7 devices considering the lack of TB7.
