For all you Twitter loving BlackBerry PlayBook owners out there, Kisai Labs has made available a new version of Blaq for BlackBerry PlayBook. This release is showing up as v1.8.8 in BlackBerry World and is available for download right now. As always, there is a changelog included with it so that you know what has been addressed and in this case, what you're looking at is some fixes for the way tweets, followers and following sections on profiles.  You can hit the link below to learn more about Blaq for BlackBerry PlayBook or to simply grab the update for your device. Now, hopefully with this release out of the way -- it'll free up some time for Kisai Labs to work on Blaq for BlackBerry 10.

Blaq for BlackBerry PlayBook updated to v1.8.8

Glad to see devs still showing love for the PlayBook. Plus, I'd they're updating their PB app then a BB10 version shouldn't be too far away!

They will have my money as soon as they drop a bb10 version. I love the PlayBook app, and they are very good about op dating the app regularly. They earned my business.

The BlackBerry10 version is gonna be pretty sweet. I heard from a beta tester that there are some real nice features in it.

Hopefully this means the BlackBerry 10 variant is coming sooner rather than later

"Now, hopefully with this release out of the way -- it'll free up some time for Kisai Labs to work on Blaq for BlackBerry 10" - Hopefully, Trapeez for PlayBook as well.

Blaq is just mediocre, slow, lags and unresponsive. Looks appealing, but that's about it. The only reason why I still use it on my PlayBook is there is no other option. I'd like to see them rollout Blaq for BB10. As we all know competition brings out best, with BBRY's twitter client in the market ppl in the blink of an eye will get to realize what's best for them.

@WiseManPL , try the update see if that doesn't improve on your gripes. hopefully it will - I don't own a PlayBook so I've no clue.

So, if you don't have a Playbook, how do you know you wouldn't have the same "gripes"? Maybe you should ask yourself why somebody's gripes, about an app/device you don't own, bothers you?

WOW you're damn arrogant. I wasn't speaking to you but to WiseManPL directly. It doesn't really matter if I have a PlayBook or not ... the fact remains he posted his/her reply directly to a post stating udpate was pending. I NEVER stated that I KNOW this update resolves somebody's gripes! I NEVER stated his gripe(s) bothered me either. You need to know HOW to read (better) vs skim reading before attacking somebody.

He made no mention if he updated to SEE if it resovled some/all of his gripes.
- Minor cosmetic and speed improvements!
- fixes: Cannot follow/unfollow user if real-time streaming is disabled or fails.
- fixes: Twitter thumbnail loading
- fixes: Rendering issues – duplicate tweets, incorrect tweet info.

Those sound very similar to his/her complaints as possible fixes. maybe he did update before posting, maybe he didn't - but there is nothing in his post that states either.

@Supa_Fly1 Advising WiseManPL to try something so obvious as updating, well, you might as well be calling the man/woman an idiot, no? Also, to characterize his complaints as " Gripes" also comes across as derogatory, in this context you not having a Playbook does matter. Finally, where do you get "pending" from?
You can spin your response however you like, I call it as I see it. Tbh, your response only reaffirms my thinking.

Has anyone noticed after the new update that there's a problem loading pictures? The thumbnail is just fine but when the full size pic loads there's sometimes close to 25-30% cut off from the bottom of the pic. Didn't have this problem before the latest update.

Still love the app, best out there for PlayBook imo, but this is a bit of an annoyance.

Edit: just double checked, and this does not occur in portrait. Seems the images are not scaling properly and get cut off significantly in landscape.
