App world tells me this app is not available for my device or carrier (9530 on VZW if you're wondering).

I hope this means they haven't completed a 9530 version yet, and not because I'm on VZW. Regardless of my mobile provider I'm using Death Star, err, AT&T for their U-Verse and should have access to this app.

If your phone is with Verizon, you are out of luck. That sucks because I have everything with ATT except my cell phone.

My phone is 9700 on ATT and I received the same message that it is not available for my device or carrier???

I have a Bold 9700 on AT&T and I got the same message. It may be more a "device" than "carrier". Possibly torch only right now?

Posted by macdaddy Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

The app world page on the web says all carriers and all devices.

Posted by fbihawk Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

And got an out of office reply from "iPhone Applications". Figures.

Posted by TXSkeets Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

Someone needs to find a way to grab this so we can manually install it. I have a Bold 9650 and it wont even let me download it.

Can't download. AT&T Bold 9700.

Posted by redbadger Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

I sent an e-mail to CS, and I received an "out of office message" from "iPhone Applications [g01765@ATT.COM]". Makes me think that this may be an iPhone app. Dunno, but hopefully Crackberry can figure this out since it posted the article and useless link.

Can't download. Sprint 9650.

Posted by coolguy78240 Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

Well this sucks, i have sprint, and att uverse at home, but i cannot use this app, because it is only supported by att. this is just dumb!!!

Posted by bayzbol44 Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

I got the same error message and I am on T-Mobile, 8900 Curve.

Posted by zbm967 Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

Got the same message on an ATT 9700, what gives?

Posted by cipher916 Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

Sucks because I pay AT&T every month for my U-verse service, so I'm a customer...who happens to have a Sprint branded 9630.

Posted by jonmbutler Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

This is ridiculous. It's saying not available for my Bold 9000 on AT&T. Epic fail.

Posted by fbihawk Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

Can we get someone to confirm they've actually downloaded and what device/carrier you have? Like plenty of people have said, it's not available to all AT&T customers so please don't jump to conclusions that just cuz you're on a different carrier you may not be able to use the app.

Torch only!

Tried to download on a VZW branded Tour. Got the same message about carrier and phone. Hopefully this app will be available for all carriers and phones.

Just tried. Same message VZW Cruve 8530
It's only for the Torch at the moment

Have their app on my iPod Touch. It would have been nice to have it on my VZW Storm. At least they have the mobile site available still to schedule recordings:

If only Kings County would let ATT setup U-Verse here, but because of Comcast popping more cash to keep Comcast as the monopoly, that isn't happening it seems.

Just by looking at the UI from the screenshots, it made me think 9800 right away. Also, you'd figure that since its an AT&T app/service people would know that its not available for other carriers. Even if you happen to use U-verse elsewhere, you will not be able to use it from your phone since the data you will use will not be through AT&T's network.

Posted by HofstraJet Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

I pay for U-Verse and should be able to get it on my BB regardless of carrier. Yet another reason I will probably cancel U-Verse shortly.

Posted by Vermell1 Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

How is that stupid? You're paying for a service that is provided by your carrier's tubes. Other carriers are not gonna let you use their own bandwidth while AT&T is the one getting the money, now that's stupid (from a business POV). If they were to make some sort of arrangement (highly doubtful) to allow usage between other carries (think roaming) then you should be able to, but otherwise its very silly to expect this particular service to be on all carriers.

I can understand not letting other subscribers to download tv shows. I really just want to be able to set my DVR. On the other hand AT&T U-verse subscribers pay a lot for cable so they should be able to afford big servers to handle all subscribers IMO.

Apple iPhone users (among many other products) pay lots of money so Apple should be able to provide a better antenna for such a device correct? Back to your point, they would STILL need to be with AT&T in order to use their network. If you as a consumer pay for a service with a certain company, no matter the amount, that's what you're getting. When they release things such as these it serves as some sort of 'reward' to users the obtain their services from the same company. No one 'deserves' to get anything special just because you throw lots of $$$ to a company, that's just you 'using' you're money, your choice.

I was able to get to the app but I can't download it. see message saying "This application is not available on your device or on your carrier."

This def would have been nice to have!

bullshit bullshit bullshit.. sprint 9630

Posted by lighthouse84 Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

I'm in the same boat as a lot of you. I've got a 9700 on AT&T and pay for Uverse but it's not available? WTF?

Posted by kbeard26 Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

Yes I'm a VZW subscriber and I can't use this AT&T U-verse app! I was waiting for an app like this. Too bad I can't use it lol. Not everyone wants stupid AT&T wireless service.

Posted by kthhrrsn Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

I'm not able to install the app on my VZW Storm 2. If AT&T is going to discriminate against me as a paying U-Verse subscriber (I have Internet & TV) because my mobile service is with another carrier, then maybe I'll go back to Comcast cable & Internet. It's a BlackBerry app and should work on any BlackBerry. I'm going to call AT&T to complain about this...

Posted by Bold Nome Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

is there a way to get this app for my T mobile 9700. i have U-verse but at&t is only offering it to at&t phones. i give U-verse $150.00 a month so i think a deserve it.

Posted by Vermell1 Thursday, Aug 12, 2010 650 days ago

Can you guys hear/read yourselves? Those are some rather naive comments (to say the least). Sorry to hear (not) you're paying so much $$$ to AT&T for their service, but you can expect it to work with other carriers/companies. Think Mac VS PC, or how some programs are Windows/Mac only. Better yet, gaming. Also, please just please let go of the idea that you 'deserve' anything because you're throwing away your money :)

I'm unhappy because this is for att customers only. Tried to download for my 8520 and it would not allow. Its ok but still.

Posted by littleazn248 Friday, Aug 13, 2010 649 days ago

I own a 9630 on sprint and I couldn't even find it on app world I had to click on ur link to even see it. It says it doesn't support my carrier/device. This is so not fair because I'm still paying for my Uverse. I don't care that I can watch video clips with it because I already have Sprint TV but still I'd like to be able to set recordings.

on att with 9700 in arkansas and have u verse tv and internet at home. the mobile app says I am not in us and dont have att. this is obviously a glich. sent an email to att and got a can iphone response. tried to call to get info but hold time was excessive do to an overwhelming amount of calls. I will try today.

Posted by loopy1 Friday, Aug 13, 2010 649 days ago

the two reviews of the app must by att or new torch owners

Posted by loopy1 Friday, Aug 13, 2010 649 days ago

sent an email to bb support and received an email back wanting me to pay for a response or try to get one from att.

Posted by phredbird Friday, Aug 13, 2010 649 days ago

Go to att.com/uverse Support and type 'BlackBerry' in the Search box; you will get 17 articles, and nearly every one of them says "BlackBerry Torch" in the title.

Me thinks that unless you have a 9800, you are out of luck. Like me.

One more reason to upgrade.

It sucks that it is limited only to the torch. I would love to have this app on my AT&T power 8900. It would be really useful.

Posted by kyleresq Monday, Aug 16, 2010 646 days ago

I have a torch - unlocked to work on TMobile, and I can't download this item either. And to the poster who said we shouldn't be able to use it if we are not on AT&T, your reasoning makes no sense. We are all paying to use the application that this program supports. Realistically, the U-Verse App should make UVerse more competitive with Comcast as it permits you to have more functionality with their service. I use ATT for my home phone, cable, and internet. I have TMobile for my wireless. It doesn't seem right that this app is locked only to AT&T wireless customers when I am using the AT&T service that is supported by the app. And, I don't understand the comment about bandwith - if I use this service on TMobile, I am NOT using AT&T bandwith, I am using TMobiles. So doesn't that actually make it better for AT&T?

P.S. - I just got the same autoreply.
