On the surface, it comes across simply as a bigger version of the BlackBerry Z10, but there’s quite a bit more to it. Rear stereo speakers introduce high-quality sound, new antenna...

If you're a Verizon customer who has been on the hunt for a BlackBerry Z30, you might have noticed the device disappeared from the carriers website for pretty much three months. Many said it was on backorder, many said production on it had stopped, many said Verizon just simply decided to stop carrying it and while we might never know the full reason for its disappearance, we can now say it has returned and is available for purchase.

BlackBerry Envy

As a longtime BlackBerry addict and gadget lover in general, it's pretty rare (read: never) that I feel envious of another person's tech collection. That said, I just had one of those moments where I felt true envy.

The photo above was just tweeted to me by Barry Lapthorne, who in addition to his trusty BlackBerry Z30 is rock'n ALL of the latest and yet to be released BlackBerry 10 phones (Z3 excluded). He has the just-announced BlackBerry Passport, in white no less; the also-brand-new Porsche Design P'9983; and he even has the yet to be released BlackBerry Classic. I've never seen these four devices lined up like this before, so just had to immediately share the photo with CrackBerry Nation.

I'm drooling. Consider me envious, Barry. Nice collection!

Back in February, Dan Nessel from DadDoes.com accepted the challenge to put down his iPhone 5 and pick up the BlackBerry Z30 for 7 days.

Unsurprisingly to BlackBerry fans, Dan walked away from the test really appreciating the BlackBerry Z30 and the timesaving features offered up by BlackBerry 10.

Now Dan is back with another look at the Z30, this time following the big upgrade to OS 10.2.1, which introduced even more features for Dan to play with, not the least of which is the ability to run Android apps.

It's an enthusiastic review, and one well worth watching and reading. So check it out!

Feb 19, 2014 What happens when you take an iPhone user's iPhone away for 7 days and replace it with a BlackBerry Z30?
Peek

That's the question Dan Nessel, the founder of DadDoes.com and big iPhone fan was willing to answer.

The folks at BlackBerry asked if I would do a 7 Day Challenge.  Swap out my iPhone 5 for a BlackBerry Z30 for 7 days and just honestly report on how it went.  Honestly, I thought this was going to be a train wreck for BlackBerry.  I love my iPhone and all I really knew about BlackBerry was that they were that company that made those phones with little keyboards.   Still, I figured a week without my iPhone would make me appreciate it even more.

Unsurprisingly to BlackBerry fans, Dan walked away with a lot of genuine love for the BlackBerry Z30. His only real complaint was one shared by some of the BlackBerry community and that's the lack of apps. Click play on the video above or head on over to the full review in the source link below. Also, Dan took time out his day to join the CrackBerry Forums for some additional commentary as well so, welcome to CrackBerry Dan!

T-Mobile BlackBerry Z30

I'm a big fan of T-Mobile's CEO, John Legere. He does the kind of shit that I would likely do if I were the CEO of a big company that's in a similar position. I mean, I don't see him doing really ballsy things like eating raw onions, punching muggers in the face or baring it all on youtube, but he knows how to attract attention to himself.

Recently he got the attention of the CrackBerry community by deciding that T-Mobile USA would no longer carry BlackBerry phones in retail stores, instead making the decision to fill the demand via direct shipping. Sad news, but at least BlackBerry 10 phones were still available to T-Mobile customers. Except of course, for the BlackBerry Z30.

Bring the Z30 to AT&T!

I love it when the BlackBerry community takes action, and that's exactly what's happening this week. Nick Cooper (@Nickc1307 on the twitters) wants to buy a BlackBerry Z30 from his carrier, AT&T.

Of course, AT&T is not currently selling the BlackBerry Z30. To date, the 5" touchscreen BlackBerry 10 phone has been a Verizon exclusive and there has been no real indication that is going to change anytime soon.

So while it may not help, it certainly won't hurt to let them know you'd love to see the Z30 come to AT&T too. Be sure to jump over to petitions24 at the link below and sign the petition. Let's do this!

Jan 10, 2014 BlackBerry Z30 beats out iPhone, Moto X and Lumia 1020 as best phone to blog with at CES!

With pretty much every tech blog at CES this week there has been a lot of blogging going on across the internet. The folks over at WIRED decided to take a different approach this year and try to cover the event using their smartphones in something the called Smartphone Thunderdome. No DSLR's, no laptops, no compact-system cameras. Just smartphones. The devices used ended up being a BlackBerry Z30, iPhone 5s, Nokia Lumia 1020 and finally, a Motorola X.

Covering CES with the proper gear is hard enough as we know from our own #CESlive coverage, doing it from only smartphone? That's kinda crazy. No matter though, the folks at WIRED were doing it and with CES quickly coming to a close, WIRED has done their due diligence and posted up who exactly came out on top in their Smartphone Thunderdome.

Jan 09, 2014 BlackBerry 10 or iOS - Which keyboard is faster at word prediction?

It has long since been known that BlackBerry offers the best QWERTY keyboards out there, there's no question about it. It's reached the point now where even those who have moved on from BlackBerry still agree with that statement and companies are now trying to get away with insanely similarly styled keyboards

But what about the BlackBerry virtual keyboard? BlackBerry is looking to prove it is with a new video showing off some competitor comparisons. In this case, it happens to word prediction on the BlackBerry Z30 vs. the iPhone 5S. You won't really need to guess who wins but hey, check out the video anyway. It's pretty cool!

Nov 29, 2013 The best BlackBerry you can buy right now

Let's face it. The selection of BlackBerry devices isn't huge in comparison to the likes of Android -- but there are still a few different options depending on your needs. When we break things down, for the most part all the devices are sporting the same OS (or at least they can be, depending on your carrier) so you don't really have to base your choice off software, which is nice. What you do need to decide however is what you're willing to spend and how you'll be using your device. Are you straight up messaging or do you watch movies often? Play games or stick to social apps? Some of these will influence what device you go with, though you'll be able to do all of them on any BlackBerry you choose.

Let's take a quick look at the best BlackBerry you can buy right now in a few different categories.

Hi. I just made the decision and took the leap! I ordered a BBz30 from Rogers. They game me $100.00 off the price, plus first 3 months at half price since I am an existing customer with internet and cable, so I couldn't refuse. I have to pay fido only $66.66 to cancel my last ten months on my current contract with them. I am really excited about my phone and can't wait to get it in 2-3 business days!
Just wanted to ask if anybody has any advice as to what good apps, etc to set up my phone when I get it, as this will actually be my first smart phone.
Coming from an LG Gossip (for the great texting) I would appreciate any advice anyone may have.

Hello all!

...I just got my Z30 yesterday!!! (upgraded from in iPhone 4) ...and had to go through hell and high water to get it (I'll save this for another post...) I REALLY want to love this phone... but I'm having the worst time trying to set up a simple POP3 email account which I use for work. Since this is primarily a "work phone", its crucial that I get this set up...can anybody offer some advice on this??!!...Ive been scouring the forums and Youtube all day and so far nothing is working. I enter the account info from my outlook account the same way I have in the past with other devices and so far all I'm getting is error messages.

Can you do phone speed dial on the soft keyboard on the Z30 like you can on the bold and Q10? Its a great feature

Earlier I was using BB Torch and had the Mr. Number for call block. Both app & phone were superb. Unfortunately, I got mesmerised to go with BB Z30. There is no equivalent of Mr. Number call blocker and the call blocker bought by me cannot be used in BB Z30. It says this app is unavailable for BB Z30. I am really pissed off.

Hi guys, I want to buy my first Blackberry mobile and decided to get Z30. I got a deal from a store in India who is selling his demo phone for a 30% discount. This phone is still under warranty but only for next 11 months. I get doubt if the demo phones which weren't sold doesn't get full 18 months warranty by the time of sale? I start to think if it is an used phone? If a mobile was switched on to be used as a demo phone, will the warranty counts from that day itself or from the date of billing?

Kindly help me decide with your comments. thanks in advance

Personally I would be concerned, coming from India, what recourse do you have if a problem? What is the price?

I have a z30 and finding that my e-mails that were staying for about 30 days is now only going back a week on the ones I have received. I remember on my other BB units that I could set them to stay 30, 60 days? I thought I had seen this feature on my Z30 but damn if I can find it. Please tell me where to find it. Thx
