Good news Canadians - the BlackBerry Z30 is coming your way!

The latest BlackBerry 10 device is set to launch in Canada on October 15th, so in just a week or so you'll be able to pick up one for your very own. We've seen plenty of the Z30 as of late and it looks like it is finally making its way around the globe and in addition to Canada, should be hitting other regions soon as well.

The Z30 is the biggest BlackBerry to date sporting a 5" SuperAMOLED display, a dual core 1.7GHz processor and oodles of other fun stuff. The Z30 will be available at TELUS, MTS, Sasktel, Best Buy, and Future Shop but no price has been made available just yet.

The Z30 launch is moving along fairly quickly. I wonder if Verizon or Sprint will announce their release dates soon?

If the FCC is still shut down due to the government shutdown, and it hasn't gained approval yet, it may be a little while... Sadly.

Thankfully, I'm in Canada! Whoo! Z30!

No. Every phone has to be certified by the FCC. Hell, sometimes they even get certification on models that aren't natively sold here.

It actually did clearly the FCC before the whole government shut down so no worry I thought so too but I got confirmation that it did pass thru Fcc before all this crazy government shut down thing.

9000 > 9800 > 9900 > Z10

No, I'm pretty sure that was just related to the Sprint-variant Z30, as the OP said. I totally forgot about the government shutdown and the implications for the FCC... Well, maybe for once Sprint will be the first to the table!

Sign up on Verizon.com for email updates, although that's not enough for me, I'm itching to go to store just to harass a rep to tell me when it's coming in stores lol

Posted via CB10

Oh I'm not actually going to buy one, broke and quite still in love with my Z10. Was just wondering aloud, lol

Posted via CB10 on my white Z10 & lovin' it!

But be careful as the Q10 I have from Rogers will not pick up 4G from ATT in New York. It's the wrong variant

Rogers, Bell and Telus have been compatible with AT&T...until LTE. AT&T uses the 700 and 850 LTE bands (mostly 700) for LTE, whereas Rogers, Bell and Telus all use the 1700 (and 2600 in the case of Rogers and Bell.) Luckily, the Z10s and Q10s that have gone to Bell and Telus have all had the 700 and 850 bands, whereas Rogers' Q10 was closer to the European model than the other carriers' model.

TL;DR: you're probably safe going with Telus, Bell, Rogers (in this order.)

This man knows what he's talking about. Check out his Z30 thread in the forums ...

Exactly. Hoping that Koodo has it at the same time as Telus. They had the cheapest Z10 purchase price at launch, hopefully the same with the Z30.

-$1400 for Rogers! I was also hoping to upgrade my Rogers Z10 to Z30 but now I'm not sure where I'll get mine.

Posted from my incredible Z10

I can't believe after how much I was disappointed with the stats how I still want one lol

Posted via CB10

I'm going to play the waiting game on this one. Paid $750 (tax included) for two Z10s on release day and now there's talk of lowering price to entry level. Who's to know the future of Z30. Sorry BlackBerry but you need to get your business right first

Posted via CB10

That's just business, period. If your first you enjoy the thought and bragging rights that you had it first. You will always pay a premium price for that. In general, no matter what the product.

Posted via BlackBerry Z10 Channel C00106B82

You bought 2 Z10's at a point when the future of BlackBerry was almost as uncertain as it is today. And now you wanna stick it to BlackBerry like a scorned ex. Admit it, you're in looooOOOooooove.

Posted via CB10

Not saying that I will never get one nor consider getting one at some point but I will sure be waiting for a nice price drop by Christmas. If current retail is $800.00, I'm sure i will be able to pick one up for $400.00 by Christmas lol

That just plain pathetic!!! I can't believe that they make everyone wait so long with these "rollouts"

Posted via CB10

A competitor site listed Bell as well, but no mention of Rogers; I assume they will make a separate announcement?

I found that very surprising as Rogers is supposed to have a great relationship with BlackBerry and they are often the first to get new phones.

Posted via CB10

Could they be boycotting because TELUS, with a market cap 5 times the size of BlackBerry, is preparing a bid?

Very unlikely but it is a very complimentary fit for an innovative company like TELUS as it continues to expand beyond land lines, cellular, TV and internet. TELUS recently become Canada's largest electronic medical record provider through TELUS Health (where security of information is paramount), has a position in security solutions ("Whether your priority is handling targeted threats with real-time context, securing your mobile enterprise or removing your security management challenge, TELUS Security Solutions can help you gain visibility, understanding and control."), and has a Mobile Application Management product in partnership with an external vendor... amongst other things that align with BlackBerry's strengths. An acquisition of BlackBerry would strengthen existing segments for TELUS, reduce existing costs, and open new opportunities. Furthermore, TELUS this year made an acquisition (Mobilicity) valued at over $1,500 per customer. Multiply that by 50+ million and BlackBerry looks like it would not only be a great fit for TELUS but at a great price.

Purely speculation on my part, of course.

I posted whole back on the bell and telus z30 thread that Rogers will not be carrying it. Looks like it's true.

I have already got one in Hong Kong yesterday. I wanted white but only black available. Finally got the black Z30.

Posted via CB10

Z30 is already available in Hong Kong by the current big carriers, such as PCCW-HKT, Smartone. The salesman told me the phone just arrived on Sunday , that was the day I bought it.

Gah! Need a South African release! NAO!!! I don't care that I got my Z10 two months ago...the Z30 is AWESOMER! :-P

Posted via CB10

I cannot wait to check this out at home Bell store, now to convince my wife that my 2 month old Z10 needs a companion.
Cheers

I was in the same boat, although mines 7 months new.. We got ride of our house phone a year ago, so my play has been the kids are getting to the age where they may be home and need a phone to call out in case of emergencies. Which she agrees. So that means shiny new Zed30 for me, my Zed10 gets passed down to my son and our daughter is also needing some love so she'll be sporting a new Q10 for the holidays. It all came together nicely. :)

No Rogers? No Bell? Guess I will have to buy it at Best Buy.

BlackBerry will survive in the Corporate and Government Sectors! My Z10 is so much better than an iphone!

I do not believe Best Buy sell phones outright. At least in the beginning of the year, they would not let me buy the Z10 unless I was going to sign of their carrier contracts.

I was just in a bell store in Ottawa and asked when they will have it but he said all he knew was that the phone itself has been announced and it looks awsome

Posted via CB10

Can we get some advertising on TV and online for this device besides the blackberry website.

Posted via CB10

Would love to buy one but I fear the upgrade cost from my Z10 will be very high.

:-(

Posted via CB10

They should have 5 at every store and once they sell out, they should report to the media that the BlackBerry Z30 has soldout on its 1st day of being available. Just an idea.

If I'm going to get a new device on subsidy and enter into a 2 year contract, I'm thinking I'll get the Galaxy Note 3 and wait for the sadly inevitable Z30 price drop to around the $400 range.... unless BB is being VERY conservative with production. I'm sure there will still be open-box / refurbs eventually.

Nahh. You're assuming BlackBerry wants to move product and expand its user base to attract developers. Stop making sense. They have proven time and time again that they can't effectively market products. It's almost like they do not want to sell....

This really never happens you can take my word
I wont apoligize, thats just absurd

So, BlackBerry is sticking with its strategy-thing of releasing the Z30 in the US. . . . whenever? That didn't work well with the Z10. Even if we accept that BlackBerry is retreating from the consumer market, if they want to compete in the prosumer market they have to maintain a discernible pulse in the US.

+100 Waiting on a T-Mobile compatible device. I don't care where I buy it, if it works on TMO LTE, I buy it.

How many of you imagined Futurama's Professor Farnsworth's voice when reading the first paragraph?

Posted via CB10

Well that's bad for Rogers. I have my companies phones with Rogers and I will now commence purchasing elsewhere. Just like I cancelled Netflix, I will cancel Rogers as soon as our contract is up, and all new phones going forward will be purchased elsewhere. Rogers is a Canadian Company and it won't support another Canadian Company! Well I am Canadian so Rogers is now dead to me.

"BlackBerry will survive in the Corporate and Government Sectors! My Z10 is so much better than an iphone!"

LOL, you really think blackberry will survive the cooperate and government sectors, eh? The cooperate and government sector, are leaving blackberry at a blistering pace, eh! There even failing in the northern states of canada, eh.

Posted via CB10

You know I could give you the spell check error of your iphone when you spelled corporate wrong twice! However, when you say northern states of Canada, well that shows me your not very well educated. So piss off!

I forgot you misused the word "there", when you should have used they're.....so again piss off you uneducated fool!

Majority of test labs have FCC accreditation . These are privately owned so shutdown is non issue.

Posted via CB10

Except that those companies cannot file the certifications with the government until the shutdown is over...

Rogers sucks!

I'm going to send them a nasty email. Been a customer for 10 years and them not supporting BlackBerry is terrible.

Posted via CB10

Fuuuuuuu Rogers/Fido if you don't carry this. A stab in the back for all Canadians.

CB10 - Z10 -10.2.0.1725

LOL I was already struggling trying to decide between the Z10 & the Q10. I was leaning more toward the Z10 so I think I'll go with the Z30 since it is coming so soon. Just hope Telus gets the white one. It isn't showing on their website.

Get off Rogers, if they don't carry it I will be making the move to another carrier.. they don't deserve my money monthly if they cannot provide me with what I need.

#GetWithBB10 Channel @ C000D7228

I already had to send a nasty email to Rogers in regards to them bombarding me with "upgrade" to iPhone. I wished they were pushing BlackBerry products the way they are Apple. Same reason I stopped watching CP24.. they're always critical of BlackBerry products and promoting Apple.

Posted via CB10

Any other month to month Rogers customers thinking about pulling their business for not supporting BlackBerry?

Posted via CB10

I signed a new contract on Feb for my z10 but I think I'm gonna pay out and leave. I get poor reception at my house anyways.

Posted via CB10

Am pissed Rogers isn't going to be stocking the z30. They may have lost an 8 + year customer due to this!

IROC-Z10 But Mostly She Rocks Me!

Will be buying Bell or Telus phone outright and unlocking it. Im curious what model they will get. If its no difference from the STA100-2 I will buy overseas as they come unlocked.

Posted via CB10

I wish I could buy directly from BlackBerry!

Anyone want to buy a 9.5/10 BlackBerry Z10 black for rogers? Comes with all accessories, box, and two cases. A black barely there casemate and a black nilkin snapon case (similar to barely there). $350 CAD obo.....

Posted via CB10

I am surprised about Rogers not carrying the Z30. Usually they always carry BB and they are the Canadian carrier that tends to get the exclusive on the white model right away. So they usually have both white & black. Strange.

Already emailed Rogers notifying that I am not impressed. It's a $20,000.00 account per year for them. I will be getting a z30 and if it doesn't run on Rogers properly, then Bell just picked up an account by not even lifting a finger. Talk about falling victim to the iphone.

BlackBerry will survive in the Corporate and Government Sectors! My Z10 is so much better than an iphone!

Way to go: Voting with your feet "usually" makes a strong point ... though nowadays you have to wonder whether anyone working there 1) understands these things, or 2) even cares.
I pulled the plug on another carrier a few years ago for another cell service we had, because they just did NOT 'get' the value of "honouring a written device+service quote just 2 -TWO!!! - days after it was written by a CSR" and their only response was "meh, it is what it is."

So, it seems the attitude in most places is ... "meh, whatever" - and I know that's pretty much like that "everywhere" now.

Still, I've NEVER been disappointed with Bell's actual service in the +/-170 months I've been their customer ... though I furtunately don't have to deal with their customer too often.

I understand what you are saying, but BlackBerry was punished by the consumer. Unfortunately it has gone way too far as they have produced a great product with so much potential. Now we have iphone completely controlling Rogers as they give it one more push to ensure BlackBerry's demise. Well I hope others join me in supporting BlackBerry with future purchases.

Crazy. I just had confirmation I won't be getting a Z30 from Rogers. Does this mean if I buy one off contract and use on Rogers I won't get software updates pushed to me? Really pissed at Rogers.

Posted via CB10

I'm leaving rogers after 9 years, I want z30, I have z10, now I want z30, I'm done with rogers

Posted via CB10

Or Apple has come down on them like every other carrier.

You can still use a back up battery pack and the usage time on the z30 is phenomenal!

Too little too late. This device will flop just like the Z10 has, however if BBRY had actually released this device first and not the Z10 they would have a good fighting chance but the Z10 has tarnished that chance now. They are better off making a Z30 with a physical keyboard.

According to Telus, they will give me a call on the 15th. To let me know when it is available to them, with a price. Still locked. That pisses me off. I thought that Bill C383 (or whatever it was) was supposed to fix this selling locked phone issue.
*Does anyone know if this phone will be available directly from BB?

I am not waiting for Z30 cause I am happy with my Z10 but waiting for OS 10.2. Hope that there is native Viber :(
