During the BlackBerry earnings call and general meeting, BlackBerry CEO John Chen noted the BlackBerry Z3 would be expanding to more markets such as Malaysia and India soon and clearly, soon meant very soon. BlackBerry has been teasing it on their blog and BBM Channel for days now and now finally; the BlackBerry Z3 has now been announced for Malaysia with a retail price of 699.00 MYR or approximately $217 USD when the conversion is processed. It will be available to purchase through BlackBerry authorized retailers from July 7th, 2014.

To celebrate the occasion, BlackBerry hosted a launch event in Kuala Lumpur with BlackBerry fans, local artists and members of the press. With the Malaysia launch underway, it's looking as though India will be next on the list. BlackBerry Z3 announced for Malaysia, available July 7th

I hope they have enough stock. It is frustrating to get excited on new device and get turn down because they are out of stocks.

It was never said to be in that range. But it did say less than $200. But from what I read (correct me if in wrong) there is no sales tax so that's included in the listed price above

Hahaha! BlackBerry needs to learn how to protect their business from fluctuating exchange rates.

Carbon Fiber Z10 w/Leather Holster

Thats what I said months ago before official launch in Indonesia. It will costs more than $200, BB10 has ridiculous price in Indonesia/India. No wonder  is now number 3-4 in Indonesia , many already switch to android. BB didn't learn from last mistake with z10.

?? Number 3-4 in Indonesia? Not sure where you are getting your information from.

Although the BlackBerry brand has arguably been beat up in North America, according to Nielsen On Device Meter the BlackBerry brand is holding its own in Indonesia. The latest data reveals 48 percent of smartphone users in Indonesia chose BlackBerry as their top brand while 34 percent of them chose BlackBerry as their favorite brand.

Via The BlackBerry Z10 Experience.

So what are the 8 additional countries? India, Malaysia, Phillipines, Vietnam, Thailand, South Africa, Nigeria and Brazil?

I thought India was supposed to be this week (tomorrow) according to various sources on the interwebs..... Does that mean???...

From my Neutrino Powered Z10

Thanks, that's what all signs pointed to, but Simon Sage's report from the AGM didn't seem to indicate a firm belief in the June 25th date. I've seen a lot of Indian press say it's happening, but nothing official from BlackBerry themselves since the AGM.

From my Neutrino Powered Z10

I think launch date and availability date are not the same. My guess is it "launches" in India tomorrow with some sort of PR event, and availability will be early July.

Expect the SA price to be R3500 or about US$330 after tax and typical SA profiteering. If you can find a Z10 it will cost just over R2500 so the new Z3 must cost more. There are many ways to make a sub US$200 device sell for significantly more than that and BlackBerry has very little say in the matter.

I Agree Brazil Should Come Next , Brazil Is becoming The second Smartphone consumer this year , they should give it more attention if they want to win Market Share !!

I hope the relatively low price of the Z3 (compared to other BBS, but still not as low as competition) becomes like a gateway drug and leads to people buying the mid-range BlackBerry phones.

Frosty White Q10/ CB10'n

Everyone tried Apple's Angel Dust and Google's Bud, do you think people would be willing to take crack again? I know they say once you try crack you never go back. Meaning people have had Crackberry before and wanted something new.

I hope throughout the summer each week or so a new country is being added where the Z3 can be available

Posted via CB10

Don't worry because of the price difference 699.00 MYR and $ 217 because this phone will down every day next few months just like z10 there. BlackBerry Malaysia use partner distributor as their main to distribute.

Great news!!!! hope to continue the Asia tour and invade the depth of China itself!

but are they going to sell 10 million devices to make the hardware sector profitable?

Any idea how well the Z3 is doing in terms of sales? I have not listened to the shareholders call. But I imagine the success or failure of the Z3 in Indonesia should be pretty clear by now. Hopefully, we finally have a BB10 market share winner.

Wow, great news. Will add one more unit to my BB10 list. 699 is quite reasonable for the spec. LTE still at it's early stage here.

Would love to get some sales figures on the Z3 in Indonesia. They've been pretty tight lipped about exact figures....don't know if that's good or bad.

Pimp slappin iGeeks and Droinerds with my Q10

I think the pricing is a little too high.. to me 200 USD was already on the edge, conciddering the specs of the Z3, with or without taxes..

Great but I thought I read here on Crackberry thst the z3 was going on sale in India on June 24th? Am I wrong?

25th.. and maybe not on sale but that's when they're hosting an event to announce it. Kicks off at 11 AM IST.

Bring some good news bla1ze tomorrow of what happened in India release :-) I hope after Malaysia next is Philippines :-)

Powered by Q10 Philippines :-)

Another few rm you can a z10 already. Not really a low end device anymore here in Malaysia

Z30 STA100-2....

I am happy with my z10 although a touch screen and rather wait for the BlackBerry Classic... I need keypad, I mean a physical keypad.

Are you kidding MYR 699. I can buy z10 3g version or add MYR50 for 4g version.

Symbian is still and always my favourite Os. Nokia 808

I hope there is a north American version.

Brought to you by my: Z30 (STA100-1FTW) / Z10 (STL100-3) / Q5 (SQR100-1) / Q10 (SQN100-1)

RM 699 for that specs at this time where other new cheap phones are flooding the market; kinda overpriced. And, they haven't even include the tax (plus service provider contract). Will wait for Passport.

I love how the Malaysian BlackBerry press release says that it  " you the best Bahasa Indonesia typing experience..." and that BBM  is "customized for Indonesians". OOPS.

Typical BlackBerry sloppiness. I thought we were supposed to be done with that under Chen.
