 BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone

A few weeks back I posted Part I of my BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone review (video above). Part I was more an overview mixed with some entertainment or infotainment as I like to call it - some of you liked it while others didn't. Either way, a ton of interest was shown in the Visor Mount from that review which at that time was not yet available for purchase. I still owe you guys Part II of the review, but wanted to make note here in the blogs that the BlackBerry Visor Mount is now available for purchase from for $84.95 (still listed as coming soon at and will sell there for $99.99). Here's the description and highlights:

The BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone VM-605 is a hands free Bluetooth speakerphone from RIM. Enjoy your calls and your favorite music from your BlackBerry smartphone with the convenience and sound quality of your car's FM stereo system. It's easy to use. Just clip it to your car's visor, turn it on, and you're ready to start making and taking hands free calls on the go. And because it supports voice activated dialing, caller ID, and verbal notifications to let you know who's calling, you can stay in touch while keeping your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

  • Wireless transmission via Bluetooth® connection
  • Driver-friendly
  • Simple operation
  • Slim, ultra-light design
  • Up to 13hrs talk time
  • Noise reduction and echo cancelation technology
  • Works with GPS Mapping Applications
  • Compatible with other Bluetooth enabled devices

I'll get part II of the review up soon (am comparing it head to head with the Blueant Supertooth 3 and Jabra SP700 at the moment) but overall to date have been very happy with the BlackBerry Visor Mount. It works well, looks good, and if you are a BlackBerry owner and live in a place where you have to go handsfree by law (and don't have Bluetooth in your car) it's a no-brainer.

BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone Now Available!

Very nice...looking forward to part two. I hope they gave you a ride back , or did you make some new friends and spend the day at the beach ?

I picked up one when it was first released. I am impressed with the device itself and recomend it to anyone.

The device though didn't work with Viigo's podcast or Nobex Radio. Otherwise all other apps work great with it.

Looks and sounds quite like the Jabra SP5050. Great review Kevin and even greater pickup technique! Looking forward to the exciting conclusion...

I really like this idea. I think it's much more tasteful than those bluetooth speakerphones you have to stick onto your dash and whatnot. And you will probably hear people easier because the visor reaches out further than the dash, unless of course you ever push your visor forward to block the sun :P. Should help people to hear you better too since it's closer to mouth level than anything on a dash, and closer to your head.

Amazon has this for 69.99. Can I assume that it's the same unit? From the description, it looks the same and appears to perform the same functions.

Im only saying that out of jealousy..... nice way to not provide a review yet though.... lol
great video where is part 2.....

usually when a stranger with a cam enters a car with 2 girls some kind of dirty hi jinx ensue.......... hmmm?

LOL i live in that area. it's funny to see any signs of winnipeg on the internet. but good job. i like the product.

Not gonna lie...if I were those girls..being flagged down by a guy with a video first instinct is to floor it. See people, this is why we have so many kidnappings..girls that just wanna have fu-uhn.

I use BlueAnt, which is very good. I'd question whether this mount would be any better. I have used BlueAnt with both the Blackberry Tour and a LG Env, my father uses it with a Razr. You can hear very well, and I haven't experienced any of the bluetooth complaints found in the CB forums for the Tour with my BlueAnt.

It looks great, and so far clarity is not bad in other video's. But how does is sound through your car stereo?
Pro's and Con's ?

Sorry for you having the problems with the concert, which I couldn't watch anyway. But I'd like to have the visor mount. Thanks rt

I'm waiting for the second half of the video review to see how the speaker sounds in a convertible.
That's what I drive and nothing ever can be heard over the wind noise! ( except the radio)
So if a caller can be heard and the caller can hear me with the top and windows down you will have me sold!!!

First thing I've got to say is, if any of those girls was my sister, she'd be getting a stern lecture about picking up strangers on the streets. Unfreaking believable. Have been waiting for something like this for awhile. I was here pondering the Blue Ant. Glad to see BB came out with something comparable. Looking forward to seeing if I can actually win one of these. Thanks for the chance.
