I received an email last night from Blink Media Works letting me know they just produced a short video on BlackBerry Unite! Take a look above - if you haven't checked out Unite! yet, the clip provides a quick overview of the features and benefits of using Unite!

This video is geared towards Bell users, but of Unite! can be used by anyone running their BB on BIS. You can learn more about Unite! by visiting THIS PAGE on BlackBerry.com or reading our BlackBerry 101 on Getting Up and Running with BlackBerry Unite! at your Home or Office

Any Unite! fans in the house? Be sure to share your experiences in the comments!

Want experiences? Downloaded when it came out, and installed to my phone. It kindly installed its crappy IT policy, and when that screwed up it locked me out of my phone. No email, no internet, just phone. I was on vacation when that occurred, so I spent my first night on vacation digging through the web to find JL Cmder, backing up my BB, then using JL Cmder to wipe my 8330 clean, and then reloading all its info. Whoever at RIM designed that program needs their butt kicked. Won't touch it again for at least 3-4 revisions are out. Stupid idea. Why does it need an IT policy, why can't it work just like Sync? DUH!

These are the words of someone who has NOT used it since their experience, the revisions they have made to it thus far are leaps and bounds over what it was when it first launched and Um...if it didn't have an IT Policy, how would the "blocking" of features and remote wipe work?..you can not achieve those things simply by implementing a synch application.

But I need some Storm news. Something, anything. BB users unite is great, but I need my Storm fix.

Storm Review is coming. Seriously. Just got unpacked and am getting to work on it... but need to get up some fresh content for you all in the meantime. We need to get this cloning stuff figured out...could seriously use a clone of myself right now!

As a small business owner (5 or less BB's)I have been looking at stepping up to smartphones. We currently do ALL scheduling etc from laptops. I have been looking at the BB Storm combined with UNITE or going with the iPhone with Mobile me. Both applications would be sufficient for what my company needs are. I have found little about the use of UNITE here in the states. It does appear to have some popularity overseas. My concerns are issues that I have heard about the IT Policy that it installs on your phone. I am going to jump into the UNITE thread and see what can be found out. Is there a simple work around? Has anyone had success with this software?

I have been watching this program. I do want to try it so badly. but after reading all the bad reviews of the first revision of Unite! I have been waiting for most of the bugs to be worked out.

Can anyone who has installed and set it up lately say if a lot of the problems are fixed. I am not concerned about the IT policy as anyone who understands how the BB and Unite! work would understand the reason for it. My main concerns are: it does sync well for calendar and contacts. And setup was easy, without screwing up Outlook accounts.

Also my wifes curve is on her companies BES, can she also be on Unite! to see our shared calendar?

Unite isn't perfect, but these days it is workinq quite well for what it is designed for. I used it very reliably and very sucessfully for several. Months. On a down side, if you use Unite!, you can't also sync your device with Outlook and of course that is because it would cause duplication of contacts, calendar, tasks, etc. The only real negative experience I had with Unite! was when I decided to not use it any more. The application leaves some extremely persistent applications on your device.

For a small business or a family with multiple users who wish to share information like tasks and schedules on the go, I think it works fine.

Kev, do you know when Unite! will be available for Mac?

If you want to use something like this then use a hosted Exchange Server/BES. I have a small business and we do this and it works great and everything for us is in outlook and we can share and delegate calendars and email?

I have installed Unit software and have 4 handsets using this.
We are also conected to a BES with our company and have it running on a home computer.
After a week I have found the software brilliant! The best feature is that I can view files on the run from my Storm or Bold on the home computer, invaluable.
Full praise to RIM for this FREE software!!
