BlackBerry Traffic updated to v3.0.1.21
We heard a couple of weeks ago to expect an update to BlackBerry Traffic, and it looks like it's finally available to download in BlackBerry App World. It seems this version is only for bug fixes, as no new additions were listed in the change log.
These bug fixes include:
- Fixed a bug where guidance stops
- Fixed a bug with BlackBerry Calendar integration
- Fixed a bug where Bluetooth doesn't disengage when audio is muted on the app
If you're not already using BlackBerry Traffic, now is as good a time as any to start. The app is free and a great way to navigate on the go without the need for an expensive GPS. You can find more information and download it at the link below.

Nor in Mexico :(
And with Waze stopping development for BlackBerry this would be a great option. The beta version of Waze keeps working though: m dot waze dot com

Only available in the US and Canada. Would love to see this in Europe and beyond but RIM seem to have this policy of releasing some apps just for the North American market. Annoys me but they keep doing it!

Especially when the US market is showing the least interest in BB right now.

They really need to bring map integration in now. Maybe they will bring nokia maps on instead of bb maps.
And after the get nokia maps maybe Europe will get some love..

I agree. The app is great, but how can they not integrate the BB Maps app into this. YOu can't even select something from the options menu like, show in BB Maps. Why not?!?!?!?!? How hard is this? It even says BB Maps is requried, but I see absolutely no cross functionality.

For the US this is a great value. I don't use GPS often so this makes a lot of sense over the pay-for ATT Navigator.

Since i had this on my 9900., my phone was lagging between sending messages and all. I deleted BB Traffic yesterday and my phone has been running smooth like before. Maybe this update also fixed the lag issue, but i'm not willing to find out lol.

RIM should include BlackBerry Traffic as a native app... Alot of my friends don't even know about it. Its a pretty cool app.. coming over from Android Turn By Turn navigation was my most missed Android feature.. now that we have it on BB... I'm loving my Bold 9900.

This app is awesome. The intuitive choices on the menu make it seem like it reads your mind. You can fine tune it to auto navigate to your home or work based on where you are.
You can receive an e-mail or BBM map location and navigate to it with BB Traffic, without having to type it in.
This is awesome.

Map integration would definately be nice. My old Garmin GPS finally bit the dust and I figured I would just use this. BB Maps works well enough, but the phone screen won't stay on. Seems like they have all the pieces, they just need to integrate them.
Rockin' the 9900

I use this from time to time on my Torch, but I try to use my Garmin stand alone GPS when I have the chance. The only thing holding back this app from being a true replacement for Garmin is that it doesn't show a map of where you are headed and the streets. Sometimes it's helpful to see exactly where the next turn is.
The user interface is also somewhat intuitive, but nothing that would prevent me from using the app.

im sure future integration will happen... only a matter of time... its name is horrible..."traffic" really now?
im sure by the end of the year at the latest BBMaps will be merged with Traffic and be an all in 1 app just like navigation on android....

I use the BB traffic app all the time. Works amazingly well. Love the traffic predictor.

I'm using the leaked 7.1.0.250 for my 9810, and sadly Maps is not available on that version of the OS. As a result, Traffic is absolutely useless for me.

This app is useless for me. It has no actual map-view during navigation. For small bucks, Telenav is so much better, and it actually shows you on the map during navigation.
