CrackBerry Theme Roundup

It's a busy week here at CrackBerry. Most of the team is off to San Francisco for DevCon, and we are all anxiously waiting to hear what news RIM has to share with us. I know a lot of people are are the edge of their seat to find out if the new Theme Studio will be released this week. Until that happens, all the BlackBerry Torch owners are stuck with the preloaded theme, which I know makes a lot of people antsy. So let's all keep our fingers crossed for that announcement and more later this week. In the meantime, enjoy the weekly theme roundup after the jump.

Newberry by al3azim

Forums member al3azim has created a new minimalist theme called Newberry. This theme is sure to please if you're a wallpaper fan as the banners are small and transparent. The home screen is full of function with 3 predefined tabs for Contacts, Messages and Meda, a hidden dock with 8 user selectable icons, and a 9th icon you can use for a weather slot. The clock, date, battery and signal meters are all hotspots and there are several keyboard shortcuts included as well. Available with or without hidden today, you can download it free in the CrackBerry forums.

AllStar by Basic Visuals

Sure, there are a plethora of mini icon themes, and almost as many with BlackBerry6 icons in them, but finding one that brings both of these characteristics together, with an extreme sense of style is a tricky thing to do. Throughout the theme you will find Converse wallpapers which brings a nice classy look to the theme so whether you are a sneaker lover, or just want something appealing to the eye, every screen will meet your needs. In this theme you will see custom message indicators, custom battery icon, transparent banners and themed fonts throughout. If you are looking for a clean, fast, well made theme, (which we know you are) this is one theme you will not want to miss out on. Grab a copy today for yourself for $2.99 in the CrackBerry store.

Windows XP Pro by TDM Designs

Windows XP Pro

OS replica themes have always been one of the most popular style of themes found on a BlackBerry device. We have seen quite a few Windows replica's but Windows XP Pro by TDM Designs takes the experience to the next level. Graphically this theme could fool a user to thinking that their BlackBerry device just booted to a Windows XP partition, and it has the functionality to match. Offered in this theme are custom battery and signal meters, custom icons throughout as well as a custom SVG code to ensure the smoothest flow possible. Unlike many of the previous Windows themes, this theme offers a fully customizable start menu, which means quick access to 15 icons with just the click of one button. If you are a Windows user, and want a similar experience on your BlackBerry, this is a theme you will definitely want to check out in the CrackBerry store for only $3.99 for a limited time!

Banners by Adastra Communications

It's not very often that a theme developer takes the time to port their themes over to the 85xx or 83xx screen resolution anymore, as they fail to realize just how many people are using these devices. Luckily the folks at Adastra Communications did not leave these users hanging from their latest creation, Banners. This theme is very unique in the fact that it has some icons that we have never seen before. Each icon looks like a hanging mini flag that has a OSX feel to it. The home screen will display 18 icons that are user defined and the highlighted icon will drop from the top as it is selected. If you are tired of your boring home screen and want something to transform the look of your device you will definitely want to check this one out for $3.99 from the CrackBerry store.

AngryBirds by idberry

Inspired by the very popular game Angry Birds, we have the AngryBirds theme brought to you for free by idberry. With tons of cute details including a custom bird battery meter and new message indicators, if you're a fan of the game, you're going to love this theme. The icon dock on the home screen is very unique, as each letter in Angry Birds is actually an icon! As you scroll across the letters, they highlight in red and indicate what application you are selecting. Though we're listing this one under Pearl, it's actually available for multiple devices. There are too many details to list, so download it free today and try it out for yourself!

Contest: This week CrackBerry has 50 free copies of the incredible BANdroid by Built By Request to give away. Just leave a single comment on this post to be entered in the drawing. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PDT.
