Theme Roundup

Happy Monday, theme-fiends! We have a great selection for you this week, ranging from some love for the bygone days of the BlackBerry UI, ramping up to the present day and some slick new themes. Some real talent on showcase this week, make sure you drop a "tip of the hat" to the free devs especially when you check out their threads in the forums. Always nice to see some appreciation for their efforts. Read on after the jump for details.

Free Themes of the Week

Non-Touchscreen

Neo-Dimension Plus

Our first pick of the week is Neo-Dimension Plus by DMac. Keeping it old school this week on the free themes, I was tipped off to this one yesterday. This theme gives you that 4.2 OS feel with the Dimension icons and menus, but adds the functionality of a weather slot, hidden today area, and hot-spots for clock, manage connection, etc. Check it out in the forums thread below.

    Touchscreen

    Old Skool Theme

Our next choice is Old skool be teostar. We got a tip on this theme on the roundup email, and one look told me I had to include it. This theme will take you back to another time on your touch BB, with the look of the old Dimension themes. Featuring the menus and icons we all know from those older devices, you can rock the look of that old Pearl or Curve device right there on your Storm. You have the choice of going completely old school with the traditional "L" layout, or running a hidden dock with weather. Download it out OTA in the forums thread below.

      Paid Themes of the Week

      Non-Touchscreen
      BlackTechBB

Next we have BlackTechBB by BB-Freaks. Shifting gears from the old school flavor in our free themes, this theme is all polish, taking the best of what can be done in 5.0 and putting on display. A very wallpaper-friendly layout features an area to the left of the homescreen with 7 locked applications including Browser, Messages, BBM, Manage Connections, Profiles, Lock, and Power. A 5 icon user-customizable hidden bottom dock adds more function to the homescreen, rounded off by a weather slot. The attention to detail shows in the flow of the theme, making this a solid addition to any device. Available in the CrackBerry App Store on sale for $2.99 until Mar 30.

      Touchscreen
      NewDroid

Our final pick of the week is NewDroid by CTThemes. Keeping with the "updated" flavor of our paid themes, this theme gives that Android look and feel to the 95xx series of devices. The very well laid-out homescreen features a huge clock (with the battery and signal meters incorporated) and weather slot, and a 15 icon hidden bottom dock. Hiding the dock leaves a very clean homescreen, perfect for showing off your favorite wallpaper. A personal favorite for me on this theme is the message list, all black background with orange and green fonts which make it really pop. NewDroid is available in the CrackBerry App Store on sale for $3.99 until March 30th.

Contest: We have 50 copies of BlackTechBB to give away. Just leave a comment on this post to enter. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST. Please only leave one comment, multiple entries wont count.

That concludes our roundup for this week. We hope you enjoyed it, keep those tips and suggestions coming to our email, themeroundup@crackberry.com!

I love my Blackberry Storm 2 and get a kick out of morphing it into a Droid or iPhone to freak out my buddies who have Droids, iPhones and Blackberries and don't know how to move beyound the factory settings on their phones.

I want to win the NewDroid Theme

ive been looking for a decent theme and this one looks like it could be useful. i feel like there are a lot of pointless themse out there but this one might be good

I have found through your themes forums, that some of the free themes are the best ones out there. However, I would love to be proved wrong if I win a free theme!
