Theme Roundup july 5

Happy Monday theme junkies! Whether you are nursing the after-effects of your 4th of July festivities, or just relaxing and enjoying a day off, it's a perfect time to take a look at a new theme for your device.  I've sorted through what has come in on the tip line, and taken a cruise through the forums looking for some good ones. Hit the jump, and let's take a look at what I have for you this week.

osXv2 by Ethemes

This theme is an update to one of EThemes most popular offerings, and it certainly nails the Mac OSX experience well. Ely has taken his original osX theme and reworked it, adding in a host of new features and visual elements to improve the experience. He has implemented a lot of hotkeys in this theme, including using the @ key to launch a hidden today, as well as the standard hotkey shorcuts opening SMS and profiles. 6 user-defined icons reside on the bottom dock, and 4 static icons open Messages, Calendar, Call Log, and Options.  Slick and smooth, check it out in the CB store today for $2.99, and if you purchased the original v1, you have a free upgrade waiting.

DC1 by Ducaticorse

Minimal themes are extremely popular, with a lot of users taking advantage of the high screen resolution they have to show off their favorite wallpapers. This one in particular is very well made, giving you premium looks for a zero dollar price tag. Hotkeys toggle a hidden weather slot, as well as the banner backgrounds, giving you the ability to run whatever wallpaper you choose without having to worry about the backgound washing out the information. Scrolling down from the homescreen will bring up the hidden calendar today section. Check it out and download for OTA tofday from the forums thread below

GoldBB by BBFreaks

Anyone who follows the theme roundup each week knows that BBFreaks makes some quality themes, and have been featured here many times. Happy times for our Storm owners, as they have now started to develop for your device as well, beginning with this latest theme. The aim of the theme is to "plate" your BlackBerry device screen in solid gold, and it accomplishes this rather well. Fully skinned, with a great set of custom icons, meters, and menus, this theme really shines. An 8 icon hidden dock, all user-defined, means you don't have to sacrifice function to run this great looking theme, and a hidden today area rounds it out nicely. Available in the CB store on sale for $2.99 until July 9t, it's also available for devices other than the Storm, so be sure to check it out.

Brick v1.2 by MMDesign

brisk v1.2

I found this great new premium theme while cruising through the forums the other day, and was stopped dead by the look of it.  I love the way the banner has been stacked on the left of the screen, and the hidden dock and today area are launched by hotkeys. Simple custom meters have been used that take all the guesswork out of reading them, opting for large clear numbers instead. Use of the popular OS6 icons from bbthemelab works well with the theme, and the rest of the visual elements add to the clean, professional feel. This is definitely one I will be rocking on my own device for a while, you may want to check it out for yourself. Available for multiple devices in the CB store for $6.99.

Colourize Pink Pearl by BBThemes

The pickings are still rather slim for 91xx themes right now, but that doesn't mean there aren't some quality offerings available. New from Dave over a BBThemes, this simple theme for your Pearl device running 5.0 adds a touch of pink to your device, without going overboard. A full set of custom icons and fully skinned elements revamp your device look while keeping the look clean and professional. The theme is simple, no-frills, but visually pleasing and well put together. Check it out today in the CB store on sale for $1.49 through July 5th.

Contest: I have 50 copies of osXv2 to give away! Just leave a comment on this post to enter. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST. Please only leave one comment, multiple entries wont count.

I'm going to take a minute this week to put out a call to all theme developers with a little time on their hands and generosity in their hearts. Let's see some free themes for the 91xx series! Out of the few themes that are currently available, I can only find one free theme in the list. Let's show some love for the new Pearl and flood that forum with some great free themes for the community!

That said, that's it for the theme roundup this week, keep those tips and suggestions coming to the roundup email at

I'm kind of a theme snob and would surly change mine for one of these if picked. Thank you.

Another solid theme design from ethemes, I hope I win one...always been a fan! Great contest CB!!!

Really, really nice lookin' theme :)

I like those roundups, I don't have much time for checking forums every day...

I have an iMac and a MacBook.... I need my Blackberry to look like an Apple too.....hahahah

good luck for everyone! it's a very nice looking theme,

I aspected much more from that theme, but now I will no longer be
so down....just give me one of these...
Regards and plenty of luck to all!

I am so excited that I will win something for the first time. ever. Count me in. Would look great on my BB Storm 2.

I don't change themes very often because I have certain wants in the display but this looks like it might be a keeper.

I really don't understand why people are so into minimalism and "hidden docks" and "hidden themes". Perhaps I'm more of a "out of the box" look type......

All of these themes are solid. Count me in for the contest :). And thank you to the developers for all the hard work put into these themes, it is greatly appreciated.

Some nice themes there. And I used to use the Ethemes in my BOld 9000. Hopefully I can grab the new OSXv2 for my BOld 9700

Some terrific themes. Great roundup and ethemes prize will be a great one, especially for those who haven't experienced the quality of his themes.

First time commenting here at crackberry, theme looks great and I'm not going to pass up an opportunity to win it. Please consider me as an eligible candidate for the contest.

ethemes are hands down my favorite, i've purchased a few of them and have many of the free them all

would love the chance to win a copy of osXv2 *fingers crossed*

Ooh, I'd love a copy for the Bold. Thanks for posting DC1, I'm going to download it. I love the background it has there, super cute. :)

I'm not usually a big fan of Mac themes, but I like this one! I look forward to the possibility of winning it. :)
