It looks like Alltel may soon be offering the BlackBerry Style 9670 for its customers. While the device isn't yet showing in their BlackBerry listings, they do have the software for the device available for download. It's not the first time we've seen an "oops" on pushing software live too soon (and surely not to be the last) but it's a good sign that the device may pop up fairly soon. This is the same OS that Sprint has officially offered for the 9670, but no other official details to tag along with this one so we'll see if anything turns up. Thanks Steve!

BlackBerry Style 9670 headed to Alltel?

I didn't know that Alltel still existed. But wikipedia says "Alltel continues to serve six states, mostly in rural areas."

Actually those parts of Alltel that are not going to AT&T are going to continue to operate under the Alltel name but owned by Allied Wireless Communication Company which is owned by ATN.

Is Alltel CDMA or GSM? I am going to look it up, but someone else might know before I find it.

~Edit

It is CDAM...dang there goes my idea of grabbing one and putting it on ATT...

If it does come to Alltel within the next month or two, do you think going from Tour 9630 to the Style would be enough of an upgrade to justify getting tied to another 2 year contract?
