HOLY SHIT!
This is completely AWESOME!

It would be awesome if there was wifi. Check out VZW terms:
---------------------------------------
DATA PLANS AND FEATURES
Data Plans and Features (such as NationalAccess, BroadbandAccess, GlobalAccess, Push to Talk, and certain VZEmail services) may ONLY be used with wireless devices for the following purposes: (i) Internet browsing; (ii) email; and (iii) intranet access (including access to corporate intranets, email, and individual productivity applications like customer relationship management, sales force, and field service automation). The Data Plans and Features MAY NOT be used for any other purpose. Examples of prohibited uses include, without limitation, the following: (i) continuous uploading, downloading or streaming of audio or video programming or games; (ii) server devices or host computer applications, including, but not limited to, Web camera posts or broadcasts, automatic data feeds, automated machine-to-machine connections or peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing; or (iii) as a substitute or backup for private lines or dedicated data connections. This means, by way of example only, that checking email, surfing the Internet, downloading legally acquired songs, and/or visiting corporate intranets is permitted, but downloading movies using P2P file sharing services and/or redirecting television signals for viewing on laptops is prohibited. A person engaged in prohibited uses, continuously for one hour, could typically use 100 to 200 MBs, or, if engaged in prohibited uses for 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, could use more than 5 GBs in a month.
For individual use only and not for resale. We reserve the right to protect our network from harm, which may impact legitimate data flows. We reserve the right to limit throughput or amount of data transferred, and to deny or terminate service, without notice, to anyone we believe is using an Data Plan or Feature in any manner prohibited above or whose usage adversely impacts our network or service levels. Anyone using more than 5 GB per line in a given month is presumed to be using the service in a manner prohibited above, and we reserve the right to immediately terminate the service of any such person without notice. We also reserve the right to terminate service upon expiration of Customer Agreement term.
---------------------------------------
So, basically, they control what you do. And even if you are not doing anything illegal, they can terminate your service. Fuck that. That's why I want WiFi. If I'm sitting in my house, doing only legal shit, I don't wanna the data usage nazis knocking down my door.
Achronas Oct 8, 2008 at 10:38 pm
No WIFI!!
OMG, lets all be little Bitches about it and go cry to your iPhones because it has WIFI.
How bout you just fall in a well.
WIFI is not the Holy MF'n Grail in the cell phone world.
So get off your high horse and use your GD laptop or desktop for christ sake, are you really that lazy that you have to use your phone instead of getting off of ass and use a TRUE computer?
Just do us all a favor and never disgrace this site by looking at it again Jackass
-Now for all of you who are loyally ready to defend him because WIFI is your Crack Cocaine, I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice, I'm just stating that, really realistically, how many times is Verizon going to terminate your service? And to add on top of this, WIFI is not very much faster if any at all than Verizon network that it would make a huge difference in the first place. So go F*** yourselves and leave us be, it's just another thing for someone to Bitch about.
owl Oct 9, 2008 at 12:42 am
Why do you need so many F-Words to express your opinion?
Achronas Oct 9, 2008 at 8:49 am
I don't... I just went off the deep end little bit there, I'm just so sick of everyone complaining about every little detail.
So, I apologize to those of you I offended with my language.
dannykb24dj2 Oct 9, 2008 at 12:03 am
Kevin, dude!!! Take a break, you deserve it man. I dont know HOW you do it, but you do. Great work. Thank you, but seriously, you can take a break now =)

This is GREAT! Read all the reviews and I'm thoroughly impressed. I can't wait to pick up this phone (especially after that bastard ass Tmobile Dash just exploded on me). Can we get definite date and price though, Verizon?
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 1:20 am

CAN SOMEONE TELL US ABOUT GPS!?!?!?!?!?!
AHHHHH
all these reviews and they verified no wifi but didnt say if GPS was locked down with VZW or not!!?>!
Primate#CB Oct 8, 2008 at 1:36 am
One of the reviews says that you can use BBmaps for free but if you want voice turn by turn and such you will need VZnav.
daveizzle06 Oct 8, 2008 at 1:52 am
that is awesome. i already have the best navigation in the world. its called Lexus Nav on my IS 350. All i needed was the ability to use google maps etc for findig locations near me, etc
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 3:50 pm
From the PCMag review...
"The GPS radio is open to both Verizon's own VZ Navigator and third-party applications such as BlackBerry Maps and Google Maps."
FINALLY VERIZON!

Screw the phone I have my Bold, I'm more excited over the developer tools, fomcl!!!
whitenessj Oct 8, 2008 at 1:39 am
A: No Wifi seems like a punk but the verizon network is fast across the board not just some areas.
what about the 4G network they have been talking about...is that hits may adn this can support it.then forget wifi anyway.
B: anyone else notice the nice copper and black backs in the engadget gallery? (adds a nice personal touch)
C: not too surprised by the hardware acceleration. remember iits a business and telecommunication device not a toy!
D:THE DOCK IS A GREAT ADDITION, i have had many of VZW ppl tell me they thought the dock was going to be an extra, but by the writeups looks like a new alarm clock has made its way to the bedside!
skyys Oct 8, 2008 at 1:43 am
I'm curious how the browser holds up. Wondering if it uses the pinch/squeeze zooming method or something else.
Qoute from Engadget:
"...but when it comes to browsing, media playback and other forms of consumer-friendliness, RIM still has a ways to go."
Wish they would elaborate. What makes the browsing and media playback not consumer-friendly in Engadget's eyes? Just a thought.
whitenessj Oct 8, 2008 at 2:06 am
pure speculation, but i woudl assume that agian w/o video acceleration they are aludeing to a what i would call "less interactive experiance" in my previous pda phones the ones that suffer in browsing are slighty less fluid at scrolling or flicking through thumbnails.
Example: We all know hoe the iphone adn ipods scroll from album to album in a horizontal "slide" motion, wel i woudl think that w/o acceleration they dont liek the menu style.
~~~Most of this i beleive will be mostly style issues they have. Not with the phones ability to do what it does well, rather a comparions to what other phones like it do better (or differant) depending on how u look @ it
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 11:05 am
In the press release at the first link above it says:
Browsing is Fast and Easy
Customers will enjoy a full HTML high-performance browser that works in either portrait or landscape orientation. Navigating Web sites is fast and easy with the touch-screen interface that lets users double tap to zoom in and slide their fingers to scroll and pan.
Icons along the bottom of the display allow for quickly accessing Web sites, switching between "Page View" and "Column View" as well as the ability to toggle between "Pan" mode and "Cursor" mode. The enhanced browser supports file downloading, streaming audio and video (RTSP), and with its built-in RSS support, new content from supported Web sites can be automatically pushed to the user.
AMAZING!!but still no pricing or release date. Hopefully by days end Wednesday we can get some info.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 6:22 pm
i think pricing will probably be in direct competition with the iphone
DawnGP143 Oct 8, 2008 at 1:59 am
WHEN CAN I HAVE IT VERIZON????????
pea_sea_ess#cb Oct 8, 2008 at 2:07 am
Its nice to read all of these hands on reviews, but what we all want, at least i think we all want, is to read Kevin's hands on review. Come on RIM or somebody out there in LaLa Land, get Kevin a phone so all of his 300,000 + members can see what he has to say.
Thank you.
PS. i like the fact that all the reviews are diggin the keyboard thing.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 2:25 am
I haven't seen an icon for blackberry messenger on any photos of this thing? Maybe its inside the instant messenger icon? This thing better have BBM or else thats a major deal breaker.
mr. Hi-Definition Oct 8, 2008 at 2:25 am
So far so good. I'm actually impressed with the hands-on that Engadget and Gizmodo had. I was drooling over those crisp pictures for at least 10-15 mins. I really hope Verizon doesn't enforce a data cap on this device and allows tethering because if I use it and like it a lot I might just have to think about making the move to the dark-side. I love BlackBerry push email but I love my iPhone 3G's data speeds, browser, and text imput so if I can get the best of both worlds with the Storm, that would be it for me.
Kevin where is your hands-on? Aren't you supposed to be the addict?
derekdevine Oct 8, 2008 at 2:28 am
I'm switching, its a done deal.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 2:40 am
fyi, there is cnet review as well.
whaaaaaaaaattt??? no video acceleration at all!? :( that was something that i thought itd have for sure. bah, im upset. might have to go w the iphone or g1 phone.
FrenchCrackberry Oct 8, 2008 at 3:12 am
No Wifi on the Vodafone one
Kevin Michaluk Oct 8, 2008 at 2:58 pm
yeah... WiFi will be coming on RIM's NEXT touchscreen device... Muhahahahhaha :)
Queen4111 Oct 8, 2008 at 5:48 pm
I agree! TMO and ATT will probably have the 9520 with WiFi.
michael l#cb Oct 8, 2008 at 5:07 am
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 7:46 am
this phone is gonna rock, who cares about wifi, you want wifi take your laptop. great job kevin for getting all this info up here i been checking this site every hour for new storm news...im addicted to the storm and i havent even got it yet!! anyone else feel that way? verizon please give a date before we all go crazy
digital_cataclysm Oct 8, 2008 at 8:13 am
Yesssss! It sounds like from the reviews, RIM did its homework, and excelled on the one thing most BlackBerry users were most concerned with - how's that touchscreen gonna be for typing and navigating?
This is great news, I was so hoping for a few reviews on the Storm to finally come about - it's pretty much settled now, I'm 99% sure at this point I'll be trading in my Curve for one of these when they hit the stores. WoOt.
norphin Oct 8, 2008 at 8:15 am
Oops. Your bb.com/storm link leads to the Telus site.
BabiCakes Oct 8, 2008 at 8:16 am
I guess it's time for me to settle my debt with Verizon...or get my girlfriend to get me a plan....hummmmm. Decisions....Decisions....
Valace2 Oct 8, 2008 at 8:45 am
Ya know what I find frustrating, the fact that Verizon posted that alert site and had us all line up like sheep to punch in our e-mail addresses and for what? No follow up at all and that was weeks ago. So now all the "official" releases go out and still nothing. You would think that if they gave a crap we would have recieved something by now. I know that if I start recieving crap e-mails not pertaining to the Storm, I am gonna be pissed. I am a VZW customer and am in lust with the Storm, but I would like something from them to justify all that crap about the site, or maybe that was a ploy, hoping that it would shut us the hell up, and maybe get us to stop calling their stores. I dunno. They need to give us a release date soon.
MacDobhran Oct 8, 2008 at 11:43 am
I completely agree. Just what WAS the purpose of signing up on that website??
Valace2 Oct 8, 2008 at 8:54 am
I know I am venting here, but from a marketing standpoint what is the use in throwing all this out there and not saying when it will get here. If they wait till the end of november what do they have left to tell us to continue building the hype??? Everything is out there. They have to announce that it's coming in a couple weeks. Otherwise all of this has been a waste.
lcfut Oct 8, 2008 at 9:06 am
from what i gather in the press release the VZW is the 9530 and the Vodafone is the 9500.
both support the 3G network.
my question is - once AT&T gets their act together with the 3G network (as kevin found out in his NY trip) anyone know if an unlocked Storm will work on the AT&T network?
anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 9:39 am
No, This is a VERIZON exclusive! It is not a GSM phone and can't be unlocked to work on the crappy ATT network.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 1:17 pm
Actually, it IS a GSM phone. It's got both GSM and CDMA radios in it. So you haven't answered the OP's question.
Xopher Oct 8, 2008 at 3:49 pm
The GSM frequencies included are for Europe and other countries. It does not include the North America frequencies, so it won't work on GSM here in the USA.
BlackBerry.est08 Oct 8, 2008 at 5:12 pm
Aren't the American GSM Frequencies 850 and 1900? If so, that's included with the Storm. The Storm offers quad-band GSM and dual-band CDMA frequencies. Ask Crucial, he'll help you explain it if it will work in the States.
UMTS/HSPA: 2100 MHz
North America: 850 MHz GSM®/GPRS networks
North America: 1900MHz GSM/GPRS networks
Europe/Asia Pacific: 1800MHz GSM/GPRS networks
Europe/Asia Pacific: 900MHz GSM/GPRS networks
Dual-Band: 800/1900 MHz CDMA/EV-DO networks
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 9:43 am
It's funny. At no time have I actually seen a picture of the Storm numerical keypad. Kevin, maybe you could scrape up a photo for us to see.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 11:29 am
I even tried out the Developer App (virtual phone), and did not see an option to just dial a number.
grooves12 Oct 8, 2008 at 7:28 pm
In the simulator hit the green phone button... and it will bring up the dialer.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 8:47 pm
does the simulator work on macs?
Valace2 Oct 8, 2008 at 10:21 am
Called a VZW store and they said that they could not release a date. Not that they didn't know it, just that they could not release it. Seems to me that now they have it. SOMEONE, ANYONE please get us this date, I know that there has to be some VZW employees blogging on this site, break down and give us the date.
Jcape Oct 8, 2008 at 10:33 am
Javalin, Bold and Storm all have one thing in common. They are not available on the T-Mobile network. T-mobile better step up there game.
Valace2 Oct 8, 2008 at 10:39 am
I just watched a video that was posted on Youtube by Ian Shepperd who works for Vodafone UK. In that video he said that it wouldn't be released yet for a COUPLE WEEKS!!!!!! Not in a month or month in a half but a COUPLE WEEKS!!!!!
scratch that
Actually he said few, not couple, but a few is good
KRBOH Oct 8, 2008 at 10:52 am
Article in WSJ says it is due to be released mid November. Also, Chief Marketing Officer of Verizon quoted as being said " it will be competitively priced. Article goes on to say typical $200 with contract. It was a decent review, not over the top either way.
BTW- I had iPhone 3g. Notice 'had'. I had to drive an hour one way to nearest Apple store 4 times, they replaced it 3x, and then I finally gave up. Loved the phone but AT&T network (yes, I am in solid 3g coverage) was horrid. I have been with Verizon for almost 20 years, and I am so happy to be back and the Storm (hopefully) will give me as much control over my life as the iPhone did and actually function as a phone. It will be my first BB if I do get it. Kind of thinking about the Curve also.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 11:40 am
November 9th....reliable source.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 2:05 pm
I HAVE IT FROM CORPORATE VZW THAT PRICE IS GONNA BE $299 ON A TWO YEAR AND A FRIGGIN RIDICULUS $800 FULL RETAIL.
.......ANYONE WANNA LOAN ME $800????
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 3:53 pm
I was told by customer service that it will be 4999.99 with a 20 year contract and 16,999.99 retail. I'll be first in line. Fuck this phone.
funny. i was at the bar just last night and my buddy works for verizon. he had one of these with him. i guess he got it early for testing.. it was pretty slick.
cigardj Oct 8, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Crackberry is an un-official ambassador of all things BB and this is how they repay you buy letting other outlets get first "crack" at the Storm. As much as I applaude BGR for having an inside scoop on certain things I detest his four cups of hater-aid per day they seem to have when it comes to anything BB. Personally, the love you have shown for the Storm is the reason I now want one, being I am not a huge fan of touchscreen anything. Wanna talk about a person that hates the iphone with a passion, that would be me, but the Storm with the assistance of the drug known as Crack Berry is the reason I am a Black Berry Storm fan.
Like I said, RIM did you wrong, but we crackberry addicts know who is actual and who is costume.
ksbles Oct 8, 2008 at 12:24 pm
The following article on PC Mag says that the Storm will run VZ Navigator but will also allow for 3rd party GPS applications like Google Maps and BB Maps... is this true?
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 12:33 pm
Thats what I just read and I hope it's true.
scottlucky13 Oct 8, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Dang talk about overload with info!! This is GREAT!!!! woooo hoooo the anticipation is killing me!!! Keep the reviews and leaks coming :) Great stuff Kevin!
Kipp Oct 8, 2008 at 12:28 pm
Has a price been posted for the storm that i missed also is there a final word if there will be wifi on this. How about the GPS has anyone heard if they are going to be blocking the GPS AGAIN!
angryk#cb Oct 8, 2008 at 12:45 pm
There couldn't be any cooler of a name for a phone, "thunder" would be cool but Storm rules. I just have to pray to the at&t Mobility/RIM Gods and hope what ever exclusive agreement fails with Verizon and at&t picks up the 9500 GSM version of the Storm. Who knows if that happense at&t might take 16 months to get the phone into the market :P
The storm is so sick. Hmm cancel and port over Hmmmm....
CopyPate Oct 8, 2008 at 1:11 pm
I need to see a video of the thing.
Also i hope they get the browser and the fluidity down. Fix the graphics, thats what the people want is flashy crap so when an iphone dude brings it out you can be like....o yea.
Seriously, it can be smooth without hardware acceleration. Im a programmer, I know.
mrlee2k8 Oct 8, 2008 at 1:22 pm
cant wait for this one to drop...
RobUM2011 Oct 8, 2008 at 1:31 pm
The real question is....
Which back plate cover shall I be using????
Achronas Oct 8, 2008 at 1:33 pm
Wall Street can suck a big fat one.
I'm shooting towards early November as I've been told.
So... nothing against you, I just don't want to wait for this phone any longer, and for good reason!
: )
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 1:37 pm
So I just spoke with a Verizon rep here and they said the release date is Dec 15th. They seemed very sure of this date. Bummer.
jckimba Oct 8, 2008 at 2:34 pm
I was in Verizon over the weekend and was told that it would be out in November, but they wouldn't give me an exact date. And all the "leaked" press seems to point towards November. I would think they want it out a month or so before Christmas so people buy it for the holiday.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Even Verizon would not wait to mid December to launch
Early Nov is normal launch time for the holiday season
CasyCasy Oct 8, 2008 at 2:00 pm
All right already. Let's get it together and let us buy one. Everyday, a new feature, Everyday a new taunt, Everyday, something else for us to desire, enough...
I Want My S.T.O.R.M
hahaha so close and yet how much longer???? :-)
Valace2 Oct 8, 2008 at 2:02 pm
If you look in youtube you will see video by a vodafone exec talking about the Storm and mentioning that it will be released in a few weeks. Go check it out
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 2:55 pm
anyone notice the date is oct 25 saturday on the storm at vodafone and the bold is listed as free also in the store.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 3:01 pm
Great news - for everyone else
As usual, we here in the US are left out, we get everything last.
Yes, we know its coming, so far no date, no price.
Even Apple revealed a date and price well in advance of the iphone release
But why can't we get it first for once.
Its like Verizon thinks we are't worthy of an early exclusive before the rest of the world.
And they can't even put out a decent commercial on TV
Exciting events today - everywhere else
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 6:30 pm
dude NO ONE has a price yet.. get over it
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 3:04 pm
what is the difference btw the 9500 vs 9530? so on verizon ya wont have simultaneous voice and data connectivity is only available when the BlackBerry Storm smartphone is connected to a HSPA GSM network.
as it states on rims site http://www.blackberry.com/blackberrystorm/features.shtml
Xopher Oct 8, 2008 at 3:56 pm
EVDO can handle voice and data at the same time. So when using Verizon's EVDO (they sometimes call it 3G) network, it will do both. Same with the HSPA 3G outside the USA.
Of course, if you are in an area with just 1X coverage, it will be one or the other.
Mr.Torben Oct 8, 2008 at 3:19 pm
Simultaneous voice and data connectivity is only available when the BlackBerry Storm smartphone is connected to a HSPA GSM network.
I'm going to wind up paying full retail price but I think it'll be worth every penny. Eat your hearts out iPhone users!
Andrew P. Oct 8, 2008 at 3:56 pm
I got two questions:
1) Why did it take Bell so damn long to get their Storm "teaser" site up?
2) Check out the PhoneScoop review for the storm. One of the pictures they have shows a Rogers SIM card in the device. What's up with that ? Does this mean the BB Storm will be coming to Rogers in the near future (i.e. after Christmas)???
cwcanty Oct 8, 2008 at 6:13 pm
phone will not be on rogers...that was discussed in the "discuss" portion of the phonescoop review.
It was just a button someone created.
Misterb Oct 8, 2008 at 4:23 pm
Touch screen devices have been around for years. Big deal. They're not all they are cracked up to be for power users. Sure, if you just play around with pictures and music, and your only appointment scheduled is with your dermatologist, then a touch screen may be for you.
Did you notice that the full qwerty layout does not work unless you turn the phone sideways?
Before you guys get too excited, you should really play around with the likes of an iPhone or even an old Palm for a day or two, and you will quickly see that it is a novelty that is not designed for people that actually get work done with these devices.
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 4:49 pm
You're an idiot.
I can blast out full emails on my Curve or iPhone. You clearly don't have the dexterity to "get work done" on the device, or you lack the wherewithal to "get work done" on something pretty.
And furthermore, you completely fail to recognize that this device was practically made to appease people like you who don't have the ability to type on glass. Did you not see that this is not just a touch screen, but a touch and click? Or was your work getting in your way.
"Actual work." Wow. You are a tool.
Calm down. If you like it, fine- but be a little less insecure about it.
I lack "dexterity"? Just because a person doesn't have thin little hands, does not mean they lack "dexterity".
First off, I never mentioned the Curve. I agree that the Curve is great for emails. That's what I own. The iPhone? Give me a break. Typing with one is night and day vs. the Curve.
Did I notice that it is "touch and click"? Yes, I did and I'm not amused. All this amounts to is that the screen has some flex in it, and makes a little click sound when you press a button. Was that a J you just pressed, or the K right next to it?
Maybe if you're a really good boy, your mom will let you keep your iPhone AND get this new BB.
I took issue with your first post because you are seemingly ignorant of the very element that makes this phone different than other touch screens; namely, the ClickThrough technology, which is SPECIFICALLY designed to overcome the difficulties that "power" users face when typing on a touch screen.
Despite this advance in technology/usability, you posted some idiotic generalization about touch screens -- warning us that they are a mere "novelty."
Even more surprisingly, you state: "[touchscreen phones are] not designed for people that actually get work done with these devices." Again, you are posting this in a thread about a new line of touchscreen phone that has implemented new technology to surpass any perceived or real issues with regular touchscreen phones. Are you dense? Your comment is particularly dumb because because you've never used the phone!
I'm sorry -- you are a plainly an idiot.
thats because it's suretype when it's not sideways.. play with a blackberry pearl and you'll understad how it works..
Misterb Oct 8, 2008 at 10:10 pm
Yup. Had a Pearl for about a month. Again, not a good business tool for power users because of the suretype.
robotaholic Oct 8, 2008 at 4:42 pm
don't you just want to press that big messages icon!!!?? with your pointer finger? I do!
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 4:58 pm
Stay in the know even when you’re on the go with access to the mobile versions of news, television and other media sites. Interested in a funny clip from YouTube or the incredible play from last night’s game? The built-in mobile streaming capabilities on the BlackBerry Storm smartphone are designed so that you can watch online clips like these or even listen to streamed music broadcasts.13
Kevin, I'm sure you're already thinking this but it will be great to see a head-to-head comparison of the Bold vs the Storm. If the Storm is as good as is being reported by others, I am annoyed enough with ATT on the Bold release to dump out of my ATT contract and sign on with Verizon.
Great Stuff Kevin - Thanks!
Achronas Oct 8, 2008 at 6:43 pm
Wall Street can suck a big fat one....
Good Lord, what kind of SHIT are they trying to spoon feed us with this MID-November stuff?
All I'm going to say is October 31st.
No questions just take it.
Achronas Oct 8, 2008 at 6:45 pm
Sorry about that, that was in a way a double post... I just read the Wall street post again and it made me laugh so hard I had to write about it again!
Does anyone know if Tasks will still function as it has on previous BBs. I use Tasks and subsequent alarms more than any other function.
Thanks.
PurpleShamrock Oct 8, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Can someone tell me if you can sink wirelessly into like outlook? or is that Wifi???
Achronas Oct 8, 2008 at 7:17 pm
Why, just why would ANYONE think that Verizon would sell this phone for $800?
Who thinks that would help the cause IF, and I said IF, their goal is to compete with the iPhone.
Cause if they are going to try to put this thing up against the iPhone they better hope to God that they don't make it that expensive!
I just got off the phone with a VZW rep and he said the phone should be in our hands this month....wooohooooooooooooooooo
Can't fricken wait!!!!!!!!!
RobUM2011 Oct 8, 2008 at 7:44 pm
Umm...right...well so far "VZW reps" have told various customers many, many different dates. So... Your rep might be right... so might be the reps that said Nov. 1, or Nov. 3, or December 15th....
Anonymous Oct 12, 2008 at 4:30 pm
I am sure the silence is partially related to blackberry's marketing deal with the MLB playoffs. I assume the Storm's release date will line up with the World Series and the marketing they already have paid for. Considering we are only in LCS play right now, that is why nothing has been confirmed
PurpleShamrock Oct 8, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Can someone tell me if my company doesn't support BBenterprise will i be able to access microsoft outlook (calendar) and be able to make and add changes on the go?
Hi-Definition Oct 8, 2008 at 7:48 pm
I usually don't read the comments within the blogs; I simply read the blog articles themselves. But as I was skimming through the post comments; I see that someone made a comment as the alias "Hi-Definition"!!!
That's NOT ME. I don't even own a overrated iPhone; my phone actually can perform the basic and necessary function of copy and paste. My phone actually provides the surety of knowing I type out glorious e-mails and texts using the tactile-friendly, physical keyboard. I have a Curve.
The point; please stop posting using my alias.
will the loading dock come with the verizon one? whats included in each models box?
laithal Oct 8, 2008 at 8:33 pm
...that is, aside from the amazing coverage.
In all seriousness, could this phone be any hotter? It looks so fierce and I am digging that alarm clock feature. I had my doubts about the "click-touch" aspects of it, but now it's basically the most amazing thing about the phone.
November can't come soon enough!
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 8:54 pm
when will AT&T get this phone? I really like it and would love to have one!!!
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 9:22 pm
NEVER !!!! Because AT&T is a shitty carrier with shitty service. AT&T eats poop.
webbie128 Oct 8, 2008 at 9:20 pm
This phone is exclusive to Verizon, which means noooo other carrier will have this phone. Sheesh i see this question one more time.
Oh the storm is going to be the news today and will post ifthey mention a release date
Anonymous Oct 8, 2008 at 9:52 pm
Do you know if Storm OS has an option to type in a different language (namely Japanese) as it is the case with Bold?
moejac Oct 8, 2008 at 10:21 pm
Verizon came out with the Bold Instead. I Like BUTTONS!
Oct 8, 2008 at 10:52 pm
Damn RIM... they haven't even released the phone yet and I'm already adding up my accessory purchases. First up is two docks. One for bedside and another for the office.
Valace2 Oct 9, 2008 at 12:05 am
Hey I was wondering if anyone could maybe give me a hand. I downloaded the 9530 emulator and can't for the life of me get it to work.
gibsonhtp Oct 9, 2008 at 1:44 am
Let's just hope it's free on a certain (hopefully fair) plan like the vodafone storm is. Then all these extra charges for extra features won't seem like anything too much.
Anonymous Oct 9, 2008 at 2:04 am
wow. i guess blackberry decided to skip releasing the bold in California?
what a clusterphuk
driwashsolutions Oct 9, 2008 at 10:36 am
And looking at the list of links, has anyone else noticed that none of them (other than the video) are from VZW?
I wish T-mobile would come out with this phone... like now... I really don't want to switch to Verizon's expensive prices....
Founderfish Oct 9, 2008 at 2:22 pm
@Crystall09 - I completely agree. My TMO Curve plan with voice, unlimited internet/messenging/data/email is $58/month including all fees/taxes. Comparable plan on VZ is over $110 with all fees. That's almost double and I dunno if I can justify it. Like the curve, which eventually found its way to all carriers, the storm will surely be over to TMO at some point, perhaps fortuitously after theive gotten a lot of the bugs out of it.
But youre right, VZ plans are extremely expensive!
strhessed Oct 9, 2008 at 9:42 pm
OK, you pay less for T-Mobile because their coverage is garbage. I had T-Mobile for a little while and then dropped them when I had no coverage for about 80 miles traveling from Toledo to Columbus. Seriously ? That should not be a dead zone. Yes, it's great to have a cheap phone bill like that, but what good does it do you when you have no service !!?? I will never stray from Verizon again !! You get what you pay for. I doubt the Storm will ever be a T-Mobile phone. God I hope not anyways.
Steph635 Oct 23, 2008 at 12:42 pm
So does anyone think that T-Mobile will offer this phone? Does anyone know the expected release date for the Verizon phone? I'm really hoping T-Mobile offers it... I don't want to switch to Verizon.
