Another Update: You can stay on top of official service updates from RIM/BlackBerry here. The latest from RIM is as follows:

Wednesday 12th October - 9:45 (GMT-5) BlackBerry subscribers in the Americas may be experiencing intermittent service delays this morning. We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience. We will provide a further update as soon as more information is available.

If you're killing time waiting, be sure to check out our BlackBerry Service Outage Sale.

Update [7:30am ET] from Kevin: Well this just SUCKS. Apparently things are getting worse before they get better. Waking up in Canada this morning my BlackBerry services are still down (lost service last night). No updated message from RIM yet on on what's going on. Looking at some tweets from BES Admin friends, we're hearing as of two hours ago that "Limited service expected for at least another 8 hours for BIS and BES Email, no word on BBM, BISB and Push API." Hopefully we'll get an update from RIM this morning and things will be back to normal SOON.

Update [Wednesday night] Canada / Mexico / US and more are now starting to report slow / delayed BBM messages.

Update [4:42p EST]: While services seem to still be down, RIM had this to say on their Facebook page:

The messaging and browsing delays being experienced by BlackBerry users in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, Brazil, Chile and Argentina were caused by a core switch failure within RIM's infrastructure. Although the system is designed to failover to a back-up switch, the failover did not function as previously tested. As a result, a large backlog of data was generated, and we are now working to clear that backlog and restore normal service as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we will continue to keep you informed.

Following yesterday's crippling outage in Europe, Middle East and Africa, it seems that the BlackBerry Internet Service may be down again. Although service did resume late last night, there have been signs that the service is down again already today. I for one have not received any emails on my BlackBerry in the past few hours and BBM messages are not going through at this time either.

Are you in the EMEA region and currently having BIS problems yet again? Hit us up in the comments and let us know where you stand. Hopefully today's outage will not last as long as yesterday's one -- we'll be sure to keep you updated if we find out more.

This is getting beyond a joke. Two consecutive days without service. Like many others, I depend on the BIS service for work and if it isn't reliable I will take my custom to another platform.
To make it worse, we get precious little in the way of information from RIM (no surprise there) and they have the gall to say the problems are affecting 'some' users of the service. Well RIM, I'd be a little more respectful to non-North American users or you may find that your loyal customer base here leaves you like your beloved local users.

The problems have been caused by database corruption in Slough. Though the teams believed it had been fixed on Monday, the problem reappeared on Tuesday, effectively disabling the network operations centre. The Guardian also understands that RIM's staff now hope to have the problem fixed by 8am BST on Wednesday.

AValverde13

Sad, but I am starting to hope that someone really buys RIM... I hope they can show something spectacular at DevCon after this mess. Sadly they have way the best keyboard in the world so I will stick with BBs no matter what... :)

Edit: Service down in Hungary also (T-mobile)

Ohh man, RIM you are making me get out the comfort of my wearm arm chair and have to walk to my PC a few yards away to check my eamil! Come on rim, I am going to bill you for the extra wear and tear on my socks!!!!!

sandy21251

Switzerland down again.....no Blackberry connection since almost 11 hours :(

dcroissant

Just in from Vodafone UK

You may still be experiencing issues with BlackBerry services. Research in Motion is working to resolve this urgently. Please visit Vodafone.co.uk for updates.

Adhamalghamdi

yes its not working with me now for 11 hours !
and yesterday was the same !

this is something really bother me

yvpan1

i feel so sorry to you guys in EMEA + some latin american regions due to this RIM server failure. hope RIM will restore the service back to normal sometime today. i know it's so nasty to see how one of the most stable servers is now down for the last 2 days, something is going with RIM at the moment and I am sure, once the server is up, all services will be restored and the BB experience will even be better.

My friend is in amsterdam and she's also been complaining about the BIS service down there since yesterday, even though she could still do emails & BBM but they're really2 slow.

SlugLips

Just had some RSS feeds come through but no email or BBM as yet. UK based.

ljcn

RIM's quite incredible ineptitude at client service is given new scope by its utterly meaningless Facebook entry, which says unambiguously that "we are a company which is so far up our own a**e that we can't even be bothered to tell you in words that make sense why we've f****d up the service you pay us to supply. Meanwhile, we'll just carry on d*****g around and hopefully normal service will be resumed at some point tomorrow...or the day after...or whenever. Have a nice day, eh. Welcome to Canada."

superD9900

just sent bbm to the mrs ans she got it, i am on voda uk, she is on o2.. but she still cant send t me so looks like bbms are starting to filter through.....

I'm with Three UK. My Blackberry Services haven't been working since yesterday. They came back last night briefly, but when I go up for work this morning. I had the same problem.

The strange thing, was that when I reboot my device I would get internet on my phone for a short period of time. I.E. I would open Socialscope get a few @ replys or DM's then the thing would crash on me.

I'm not 100% sure if this is a BIS issue or rather the Three network itself.
Either way this whole fiasco Is really frustrating.

splive

Spain still suffering, just got an email come through on my BB that came to my PC at 12:20 today, thats 11hours late!!

MaxPayne79

i smell a mango phone.

depscribe

yup, if msft somehow got a mango phone on the bis system, that could have done it. and this only a week after their virus scanner nuked firefox. bad, bad msft. bad, bad mango phone.

depscribe

RojoYoda

I either blame David Brent (seeing the EMEA server are in Slough UK) or Steve Jobs' having a hand in all of this. The 4S gets launched the day before he dies to boost sales & now with iOS5 about to be released Blackberry gets hit twice with issues!

Who at RIM broke a mirror..hands up??

dee.one

Got the BIS logo but still no BIS service here in Italy with 3 Italy...this really sucks!

GavinJR

Received no emails from about 10am Monday until almost midnight, and have had no access at all today with Blackberry from Orange. What bugs me is the apparent lack of a back up in the event of systems crashing.

br14

They have a backup. The backup failed :-)

What they needed was a backup for the backup.

br14

"the system is designed to failover to a back-up switch, the failover did not function as previously tested"

I smell a damages suit against one of the major hardware vendors after this fiasco.

Having said that, if your life depended upon it, you'd have a backup for the backup.

Ralph_

Same here. Bouygues Telecom France... No Service at all... :'(

BerryPotter

RIM was already slowly dying. Now they're trying to jump off a cliff to end it sooner.

hardrewired

I reckon this is down to the contract cleaners using the wrong power outlet for the vacuum cleaner :)

And yes I can confirm BIS on my O2 and Orange phones has and is off. Major bummer, but doesn't mean I'll jump ship - considering the service usually runs quite smoothly.

But get a wriggle on the boys in the Slough HUB, please.

kojita

take it easy...it s been a while since an outage. honnestly the service has been functionning quite smoothly in the past years, i a, just wondering what growth their network can actually sustain...now that they have 70 M bb out there, is it just too much?

StarrKnight

I can't even express my anger at Blackberry right now. My network provider is Orange and I haven't had access to any of the RIM services for two days.

I have spoken to Orange and not only were they rude to me but unhelpful too. I have been with them for 6 years but am thinking about switching providers because of the lack of information they have provided. Its not hard to send out an email/text to all their clients explaining what's going on.

Anyone else with Orange and feel the same as I do?

Mwanahabari

I got a text yesterday and today apologising for the problems. (I'm with Orange UK)

19cbb

@#$%&* i'm gone ... good bye blackberry, thanks for the good moments, but enough is enough.

fabberry23

Just ordered iPhone´s!!! ...So Mike - thank you for 1.000.000 reboots but 55 BB´s will be replaced !!

@Kevin - keep up the good work!! I´m sorry to change sides but too much went wrong and i don't want to pay extra for an BB-super-dupa-expert-adminastration!! RIM´s management did all to stay behind.

BYE

thecsman

Some people seem to expect too much from technology. Remember, microsoft had outages, google did too. It is inevitable. Remember these words when the same happens to the apple cloud.

simonbarnes

BIS down - up - down (again), Scotland UK
All services have problems from time to time ...... whats really annoying is the lack of up to date information as to why its down and whats being done to restore it.
All companies are not judged on the problems they may have, more on the way they resolve them for the future ......... RIM are struggling with this bit at the moment!!

Fazer9700

This is a joke, if RIM seriously think they can compete in a smartphone market when they cant provide a service for 2 days straight then they must be in la la land. Blackberry was already a laughing stock but now everyones laughing even harder at RIM. Time to put my shitberry in the bin because thats the only place it deserves to be in.

HabsSuck

take a pill and have a good night sleep

Fazer9700

How about you take a pill and shove it up your ass!

xazizx88

Its thoughtful of BlackBerry to honour Steve Jobs by having two days of silence.

boriswade

I was mocked yesterday aver mentioning that I might get a piePhone after just one outage - but this is now day 2 and another new outage - thanks blackberry for inventing great technology and push email but unfortunately you have been left behind by your competitors and I have broken and ordered the piePhone 4S due for release this week.

Remember 15 years ago Steve Jobs transformed Apple into a world leader - I hope that in years to come the same will happen at Rim / Blackberry

Signing off for the last time Boris - Rip my Blackberry Bold

Jimcmf

It just goes to show you that the world can not survive without Blackberrys.

I have not experienced any outages. It's been working PERFECT. Bang on, as always.

Robert22

And the 3rd day without Blackberry services is beginning in Europe.... RIM, it is your problem what and why, we all pay you a lot of money for new phones and for your services to get quaility, but we get sh** FIX IT!!!!!!

thesign

I am sure the backlog was created due to those stupid BBM "activation" broadcast messages by idiots.

erdi3131

BBM is down in Toronto now, not able to receive or send messages. So SAD...

jedimstr397

Downtown Toronto on Rogers Wireless, down for an hour so far. RIM, WTF?

I am in Canada on FIDO network and Blackberry BBM service is down internally in Canada and I can't send out international text messages. Likewise, my friends and relatives overseas are unable ot send message to me.

RIM's silence is very disappointing.

paspro

Greece, Vodafone - no BIS.

T.roy

Sounds like they have a bigger problem then one failed switch; The issue seems to be spreading. Anyone think something might have wormed its way into their network?

I find it strange that they went down, then seemed to get back up but went down again rather quickly and the problem starts to spread to other rim nocs.

swade86

Claro, LIME and Digicel Jamaica all down

siefer999

down on rogers and wind in toronto, canada since around 10pm EST

kingbernie06511

bold1193

WAs more than they thought, and it is still backing up and clogging everybody now.

dancing-bass

About 11:45pm. Virgin Mobile Canada. B.I.S. Is slow and sporadic at best, no connection at worst. Not sure if its Carrier or RIM. I know they are setting up HSPA in my province so it could be carrier. No matter, 6 months from now I'll likely be on android or iOS...

JustinGTP

rogers has been down for 5 hrs in calgary

Salin22

Here in Switzerland on Swisscom Mobile emails seem to come through infrequently and on mass. Still no internet. Let's have a few teas and fingers crossed that RIM have the issue fixed today!

Mutnat

Telus Mobility, greater-Vancouver, BC, Canada. No love since about 7:30PM Pacific time (10:30PM Eastern). No BBM, browsing, yahoo messenger, SocialScope, Berry Reader, etc. Very frustrating, this seems to be happening way too often in the last couple of months or so. EDIT: and taking way too long to fix when it happens. I've been a loyal BlackBerry enthusiast for 3 years and several different models, but this is begging to test even my resolve. This is NOT the way to solve your bad image problem, RIM!

boriswade

Looks like our friends across the Atlantic are now beginning to suffer all the issues that we in Europe have had to deal with for the last two days.

This is the end of Rim / Blackberry - single point of failure is RIM!

Android and Apple will never have this issue as the setup is totally different

cjp40

Vodafone UK 07:00 GMT Still down, also noticed horrendous battery drain, phone working overtime trying to auto update. Switched data connection off to conserve battery 'till this fiasco is over :-(

siausin

Look at Asia is affected too, at least so in China

missYFilan

down in the UAE for more than 48 hrs, came back for seconds yesterday and the day before but now its down again, no BIS no BBM NOTHING

Ti-Mike

i am in Switzerland and i am affected as all the other ....am I pissed off, hell yes ! but it isn't the end of the world. can't we live with a BB or BBM , if our businesses are setup and depending only on this , well we have done something worng. I don't count on other companies setup or security system , always thing about your own backup and security system. No matter if single point etc , remember something. SPACE SHUTTLE crashed twice....some of the highest developed items very been build in modern age. As long a human has build it as long errors will happen......

MXBerry

BBM Iusacell Mexico Down!!!!

prademaker

8.30 AM, The Netherlands is still down. No service for e-mail, BBM and WhatsApp. The reliable BB network is proving to be not so reliable....

Hope things will resolve soon. We are used to having excellent service..

Battery drowning issue also experienced here!

Greetings from Holland.

yvpan1

from melbourne, australia, since 2.30pm (GMT +11) up to now, every BBM sent from my 9900 (carrier: Singtel Optus) has no status report, however I still can reply & receive BBMs/emails from friends (even though I don't know what the status is, delivered, read or still waiting for delivery). don't know why as well, my wifi connection to the BB server is somewhat unstable today, never ever been like this before.

however, i made a cross check with some of my friends in Indonesia, they find no problems at all with BIS.

RIM, i know this is a serious problem, almost all parts of the world have now been affected by this issue, take your time, but use the time wisely. we might be able to wait, but we can't take this too long. your servers have been one of the best in security and uptime, now please, BRING IT ON!

fellows, wherever you are, EMEA, Canada/US/Mexico, Asia-Pacific, we have the same problem for the last few days, we feel the same pain, we feel the same situation. i know this might not be a good timing for RIM to have such this nasty issue with its servers and i believe, RIM itself doesn't want this to happen for such a long time in this case. Crackberry nation, let's unite, let RIM do what it has to do and we'll be back online on our BBs.

Strato

Bouygues in France worked slowly yesterday and now all services, including web browsing totally down.

ljonlineuk

UK offline this morning

arodriguez99

RIM pLease you have the best product. I like BB . We need for work. My Iphone and Galaxy is to play. GO RIM

Duffman19

my blackberry is a dumbphone now :(

Skateman1972

People screaming about leaving blackberry and changing to Iphones and Droids, please do so!

This change will make sure u will never ever use BBM again. (so what did u win?)

Start using Whatsapp and u will get used to Message Delivery delays.

Accesing local resources on your corp network using an encrypted connection on your Iphone or Droid.. i dont think so...

I know RIM is making a mess of things at the moment, but it will always be so much better than Apples and Robots!

Come on RIM fix it!

alex-muc

still down in germany - o2...

tyraxe

local time: 8:47 am (Germany)
Carrier: T-Mobile
Service ist still down... :-(

cvdburgh

8.45 AM local: Vodafone, The Netherlands: no BBM, no e-mail (had sporadic service earlier). Internet Browsing is working, though.
So far, this outage had the effect of reminding me how much my work and private life revolve around this device and its wonderful services. Now I don't want to leave my home office, as I would feel so disconnected.
I didn't even consider a RIM problem on Monday: I immediately blamed Vodafone.
However, if the problems are not resolved at the end of business today, I will be seriously cross and would demand a very detailed explanation.

rullis

I'm so damn happy , that I do have other phones to use than Blackberry :)))

jake_f

Sweden 09:00 PM CET internet services completely down (for me they have been like that since yesterday 12:00 AM) and BES services mostly down, cannot send any emails but one or two has been received to my inbox.
Huge impact on our enterprise environment and definitely to long outage time now!

samsams

You mean AM? :-) Okay, but you won last night. See you in Poland 2012. Here in Holland 09:00 Vodafone still down.

djhazan

Still down on Orange UK.

Skateman1972

Back in the days i used a Phone... its a device which enables u to get in contact with your contacts. (customers, friends, collegues and so on)

Then the Phone became "smart" yeah a SmartPhone!

When the "smart" part falls of....u still have your Phone.
So if u really need to contact your relations and things a getting important give them a Call.

Just dial the number of the contact u would like to speak to, and u will see this works.

If for example your business has to rely on the BBM u created a single point of failure for your company yourself.

Robert22

In my opinion this is not a failure of one server, but some generall problem of RIM. Maybe the latest BIS upgrade isnt good.

borisporosin

@O2_CZ - 3rd day of BIS outage... still no visibility about the fix...

romeo0569

3am in Montreal, Canada. Web browsing, BBM, all messengers and any web based service = COMPLETELY DOWN. not cool RIM. This is a BIG FAIL.

thpsrulr

Odd though, my BIS emails and bbm still seem to be working here...

tard44

...STILL nothing on UK T-mobile, 8.30am BST. I was wondering if this astronomical screw-up was also the reason my battery was draining like a broken sink, having seen another post here saying they're finding the same thing at least I guess that answers my question. Sheeesh...

Mitzy78

Blackberry services still down in the UK this morning, received emails through the night but no emails or bbm this morning.

Today it's 12th October 09:29h CET and my BB is down now for 3 days in a row. I"m so p'd off, this is totally unacceptable!! Can't believe this but I'm actually thinking about ditching the BB. I find it beyond reasoning BB can't figure out what is going on and fix it. Listen if this means you need to have a team on this 24/7 then that's what BB needs to do, just fix the bloody server. Can't receive mails, can't send/receive pings, whatsapp is down, this is wack !! Makes me look like a clown because now I'm out the air for 3 days !! First day I thought: well, these things can happen. That can't be said now, fork out money and buy a new infrastructure, do whatever needs to be done but fix it ASAP !!

jimmychooplease

Oh yes btw, I"m in The Netherlands and on Vodafone...

patperridge

Interesting policy by RIM of giving their customers bland reassurances. and telling them little as possible... Have they considered the benefits of telling us the truth?

Phantomlynx

Vodafone UK still down at 0846 uk time

CoDeX2k

Switzerland local time 09:48 (Swisscom, Orange + Sunrise) BIS down, BES half working with a huge delay. BBM definitly down.

onismusr

Its day 3 and BIS still down in South Africa.

prademaker

No other services available except SMS and phonecalls.

BreakerBB

HUNGARY - TMOBILE BIS down. No BIS, no web, no appworld, no facebook no no.... I got a few emails also from yesterday but nothing else.

basharv

On Voda UK and no BIS emails today even though I have a BIS connection. My BES E-mails are fine. Still problems...

serversurfer

Its really annoying... The BBM and some other BB-functions are the only advantage to other smartphones- if working! :-( RIM-Job for BB! :-(

kadhika

01:24 AM Vancouver, Canada

On Rogers Wireless, and no 3G services whatsoever for over 5 hours now. Text messages and phone calls work fine.

Missed a few important emails because they didn't come through my phone :(

Minsk

France here and same problem, damnit can't use GPS :( and no mails in .

Daeve

UK - still down (worked briefly at 5.20am sending yesterdays emails through, but not all).

Juraj

Orange Switzerland. Now and them I have an e-mail trickled through via BIS, but it's far from stable. No BES either. No 3G or the blackberry icon.
How .... liberating. I cleaned up my desk after I don't know how many weeks, rearranged the plants in the living room and went for a haircut. My e-mails can wait.

Ti-Mike

best thing to do.....i sit at he piazza in Lugano having coffee and F"*k the business for today

Juraj

Ah, that's what the TI stands for. Give me 5 hours!

edybatistuta

O2 Germany 10:47 am, still no joy!!! THIS IS.................... SPAAARTAAAAAAAA!!!!!! (threw Bold out of the window)

fabberry23

t-mobile germany as well... NOTHING!! RIM is the the new Windows!!

9900 (noch)

nbamford80

T-Mobile UK. 9.50am, had emails come through during the night but still no Facebook, BBM, Twitter. Just received emails from around 7.30 this morning, still very slow.

tinny24

had some emails through the night, and a few more at 9:30am this morning but still nothing else, good job i have unlimited texts or i would really be screwed, last month i used 113 texts, i have used more than that this month in the last 24 hours lol...this is going to cost RIM alot of customers now many will switch to the iphone....ME- im loyal im staying..... would we all be kicking off if our work computers crashed for 2 days(would be change jobs)

I swore I would never do drugs or become addicted to anything.... Thanks RIM for making me a liar, I can't put this bitch down lol

Arshaad

11.04 AM Netherlands ( T-mobile ) : Nothing works. I had to remove whatsapp, because the update process, which can not connect, drained my battery :S

Quizote

Accra, Ghana, W/Africa, MTN, still down, its been 72 hours now. this is mighyt frustrating.

kiligolo

France
Go up very very rarely, emails' reception sometimes with very long delay even BES is affected

cvdburgh

in a sense, people are right to call this outage 'liberating'. Nuthin' we can do, we'll skip on business for today. Think I'll take the day off as well, will do me a lot of good.
RIM, don't you guys think about taking time off however, tomorrow we'll all be working twice as hard and THEN we'll really need our BB"s....

babaroga

Croatia Vodafone and T-mobile down since yesterday around 10.00 AM, just a couple of mails half an hour ago and still down, mobile operators don't know when it will be fixed, nor they receive any RIM official explanation on cause of this failure.

tinny24

my BBM music is working, maybe its me but i find that strange as it only ususaly works with a 3G connection

will wait patiently though RIM wont give up on you lol

I swore I would never do drugs or become addicted to anything.... Thanks RIM for making me a liar, I can't put this bitch down lol

ljcn

On Vodafone UK.

BES, BIS, BBM all dead. Very occasionally some kind of connection gets made and an e-mail makes it through (on BES) but not since 5:26am London time this morning. Battery dying in front of my eyes, presumably because the handset is spending its whole time trying to connect up.

And in all of this time, two announcements from RIM: the first a tweet saying that some customers may be experiencing delays - er, no actually RIM, all customers are experiencing a catastrophic loss of service - and the second an incomprehensible Facebook message made up of meaningless tech jargon, and again repeating the lie that the problem amounts to some customers experiencing delays in receiving messages.

As far as I can tell, all BBM messages sent since Monday noon London time have been lost; they aren't delayed, they have effectively been deleted.

ilukeberry

Slovenia (EU) carrier - Simobil, still dead, nothing works, battery on my 9700 drains fast.

PeterRei

Got a few Mails now, rest still not working (T-Mobile Germany)

goudacheese

Wed/12 Oct 2011 - 11:25 - Amsterdam - TMobile NL - still nothing :(

royfakhry

12:26 P.M LEBANON - Middle East

Blackberry service still down, managed to get a couple of emails overnight, but all other services are still down...
I hope the rumors about vodafone buying RIM are true...maybe they would shake up things a bit....
RIM Thumbs down.....

@ngel

In the UK with O2 and I can't remember when was the last time my baby brought me an email... :(

bluebold_249

on Orange with BlackBerry Bold 9700, this is the 3rd day my Bold has been down. A text from Orange on Monday and Tuesday but nothing today. WTF RIM you need to get your act together. You've only got yourselves to blame if customers go elsewhere. Its a shame they're not paying attention.

gnirkatto

BIS not functional (only a few emails arrive, spporadically, no emails can be sent) in my country (EMEA) for the 3rd day in a row now.
The switch story for sure is BS, they have a massive SW problem. No switch outage can bring down services for three days.

Question for RIM: why should one stay your customer, if the onnly purpose in life that you have, to deliver emails in a fast, reliable and secure manner, is not functioning?

hamza817

Some emails are poping up when connected to wifi.

grandvampire

BBM still not working on Bouygues in France, though just got a batch of e-mail about 10 minutes ago over the mobile network.

HerrTim

Maybe RIM got hacked ;-)

But it's really a shame...they just play with their customers, and they are not in the position where they can do this...I'm really interessted in the number of customers who leave or already left RIM because of this....

wampirek

Still not working. Some email came through but the rest of BIS activity is dead.

jjjbahrain

As of 9:55 GMT Bahrain still down. Although I did receive a few BBM's and a few emails earlier today.

tinny24

Just received 12 emails @ 10:49am maybe a good sign

I swore I would never do drugs or become addicted to anything.... Thanks RIM for making me a liar, I can't put this bitch down lol

jaymillz11

Airtel Ghana - West africa
Its still off 72hrs

deiop

Service Back in Germany. Everything is working fine exept BBM

HerrTim

Nope, not workin... :-(

deiop

BES ist working fine so far. Mails / Calendar / To-Do sync < 5 Sec. BBM still not working.

Arebeeb5

I finally discovered a new feature on my blackberry....I can make calls :(
Its just not the same. *sigh*

maximax90

Still not working Sunrise / Switzerland RIM Fix your damned stuff! Email and bbm is why people are buying your stuff and also pay monthly fees for it! if its starting not working anymore we will look elsewhere.

DorothyofOz

It is now 11am Wednesday 12th October. Still down!! How about RIM offer us all Loyal Blackberry Users a nice new Phone! Yeah. right!!

man like stiches

On the 3rd day without BIS- on MTN-GHANA- West Aafrica
Its 10:15 GMT...when is this shit gonna start working??!!!!

Pint007

This is really CRAP. And I m just thinking to switch to Torch 9810...??? Well, if ain't fixed by Friday, BB is deffinitely OFF , and Iphone 4S is the winner.

Can you RIM this????:-D

pentax1

I have been a Hardcore Blackberry Fan since 2006 when I got my first 8800, 9000, 9700, 9800 and now got my self the 9900. I also have the 16GB playbook. My work is based on Email and I cant do business if I dont have emails at my fingertips. What is starting to bug me these past few days are the operation lag of the devices other brands have sorted those problems out. BB is still not bug free also very few applications and beleive me the responsiveness of the playbook is 80% to the Ipad I have also had the Ipad so I have a opinion on this.

Blackberry has to start making better devices I cant accept that apple has one device to cover your needs I have packed in my messenger bag
1xPlaybook
1xSony camer 16GB
1xBB 9900

With the New Iphone 4S I think that all those are covered excepting the no physical keyboard which is a must for me!

I dont mind RIM is offline 2 days although I am loosing money! I need Rim to make Devices that match the current times technology!

Rim Dont loose me as a loyal customer!!!

kojita

If you have Wifi, you can still use the browser to access your emails can't you? If you dont have wifi, can't you use the browser nor in blackberry browser settings, and access your emails via the web? That s what I do.

kojita

Services are down in Belgium (Europe) 12/10 12:23pm local time, third day...this is getting bad, I think that 1 day of outage can happen but three is sort of long. What was the latest longest outage did you ever experienced?

elie.bim

I really really want to love BlackBerry but RIM needs to get there act together! I'm in Barbados, on the Digicel network (which is in the Caribbean) and we're all having issues, including LIME users! I woke up to an email saying my device was registered with BlackBerry but still couldn't send/receive emails or bbms. I can't even use SocialScope! But what was weird is that all of my email accounts were removed from my phone and I had to re-validate them online...which didn't even make a difference. Anyone else on Digicel having similar issues?

balenax

well i've been using my xperia arc for the last two days, since my 9930 is pretty useless without email. i don't miss bbm or anything else but my email. what can i say, i hope it will be soon up, since i really want my keyboard back!

BTW : taking a closer look at android, now that i updated my arc to 2.3.4.... damn fast and battery is not that bad ( at least comparing it to 9930) ... pretty interesting to be honest.

on the other hand : orange, romania, 3rd day of outage, some emails get trough but with huge delays ( 5+ hours)

acrusoe

Down in South Africa!!!! Was up for about 15mins then died again!!!!!

yvpan1

Melbourne, AUS, on Optus: BIS is relatively working fine, i can do emails, facebooking, browsing, tweeting etc EXCEPT BBM, can only receive but every message I send, has got nothing, don't know whether it is delivered or deleted by the server. seems something wrong with BBM here today.

however, my sister is also on optus and her BIS is working perfectly fine, all services are up & running.. come on RIM.. take your time but use it wisely, BRING IT ON!!!!!

Ben Bubble

On a positive note, my battery life has almost trebled over the last two days ;)

MrLynd54

All things that are mechanical/eletrical are bound to have some sort of hick-up now and then. Even the space shuttle had its delays due to small problems. I know our communications mean a lot but there is no use in dropping F bombs and other such language. We can not control it, but believe me, people are working on it. Take a deep breath and have a good day.

taita

it´s easy for you, that are not loosing money because of this

gnirkatto

A worldwide three days in a row email outage of a company that offers emailing services is not a "hickup now and then".

Especially for those users whose businesses depend on communication.

ShredRex5150

Rogers in Ontario Canada is down.......again. Seems to be a regular thing anymore. Come on RIM get it together!

geotos

No bbm in Greece. Emails coming very delayed, if at all. Facebook barely working. It took like about 7 minutes to update my status. Slow as a snail. Can not check into places on fb. in other words, not working.

prademaker

12.50 PM The Netherlands

Still no service. Still waiting....

mortderire

Turkcell, Turkey still no signs of BIS. Fatality happened for RIM.

mz7590

im from canada!

its things like this that make me lean more toward an iPhone.

jonckr

Now it's affecting Asia. Good job Rim. (Y)

jasonvw

Still down in Ontario. Browsing still works and is faster than ever. For those that need email, go install logicmail which is a standalone pop/imap client. It doesn't go through bis so it will work and is free. If you need exchange access you can dl a trial version of astrasync or notifysync which are activesync clients which again do not use bis.

I don't by this backlog stuff. Something is going on here. Either a major software bug or far worse they've been hacked.

tinny24

why cant my company servers go down aswell then i could be at home lol

I swore I would never do drugs or become addicted to anything.... Thanks RIM for making me a liar, I can't put this bitch down lol

man like stiches

Omg!!! Still no sign of BIS on MTN-Ghana--West Africa.what's weird though is that I can only visit this site from my BB....all others don't work...lol.come on RIM, my patiece is waring thing!!

bibeberry

i'm happy to be in asia right now! but my overseas bbm contacts are missed!

DBX00

Here's a thought. People should stop trying to send messages and check emails so they can get through the backlog. It sounds like things are delayed rather than just not working now.

yinkbl

I Have been a blackberry user since November 2007 my first was a Pearl 8100 then I stumbled on this site www.crackberry.com and I became crackberry addict. I changed phones in 2008 to bold 9000 which used until November of 2010 when i Switched to a torch 9800. When the Bold 9900 came out I had to have and I eventually got it on Friday. Its an awesome device, what I am getting at is throughout the period 2007 till date I haven't experienced anything like this with the blackberry service i think RIM is paying for the expansion they have experienced in customer base in the last 1 yr especially in the EMEA region. They will sort it out they are a very capable organisation those who want to jump ship are entitled to do so but the product offering from blackberry is extensive for various income brackets the only other platform that offers u that is android so lets stop with the RIM bashing. If u want to switch to another platform go ahead

goudacheese

Is there any way we can sue RIM (under class action lawsuit) due to their failure to deliver the service?

WolfberryOS

iPhone, I am coming for you this time!

Daeve

UK O2 - another burst of backlogged mail at 11.07 am BST and not working since.

brazilianr14

Sigh...stopped workin sometime lastnight after 10pm #Barbados

vlatkoc

All day long no messages on VIPnet Vodafone in Croatia. Operators are quiet as usuall. No any info.

riannapoudyal

its 05.03 pm in kathmandu, nepal and still my blackberry is so quiet... and im still waiting.... i love my blackberry so much. I wish RIM will solved the problem as soon as possible.... (start to feel hopeless)

Slash82

Now, I`m reaching my boiling point!
I have been a loyal BB-User since 2005 and I didn`t give a sh** bout the bad news the last couple of years - why? Because my BB always worked as it should!
That kept my loyal.

But now RIM is going too far!!!
I mean, I have been paying 5Euros every f*cking month for WORKING servers!
That`s like a bad joke, I have got a BB and to find a PC to check my emails every hour!!!!!!

I`m on the road and that can`t be real!!!!

Are you serious? Can`t search for PC all day!!!

If this problem won´t be fixed REALLY(!!!!!!) soon, I leave!
I only want my Emails nothing more or less!

Old hardware? Ok.
Old software? Ok.
No HTML 5 for reserch? Ok.
No flash? Ok.

I can live with that...

BUT now the ONLY thing that kept me excited?! Not working

3days no service is MUCH too long!!!

For what am I paying my BB-option?
Why are there no "backup-servers" that jump in such cases?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

RobAnd

Email back on i Sweden but still no BBM.

Shadowsong

I'm really trying to be patient but this is rather frustrating and one is filled with anxiety and apprehension.

Orange UK - web browsing and some data services are available. One was able to bridge to the playbook for browsing via 3G.

However, neither BBM nor e-mails are functioning as expected.

BreakerBB

I assume, their core switches as Cisco... They have 4 hour HW replacement support, and the template can be uploaded very fast.. What is taking so long then?

I hope they did not take the garbage Huawei stuff instead of Cisco.

tinny24

everyone relax.... they are fixing it as fast as they can..if they rush it to please certain people, then it will just go down again which will make them look worse, give them time, we dont know what they are planning if anything as compensation, NEVER LEAVING LOYAL TILL THE END

I swore I would never do drugs or become addicted to anything.... Thanks RIM for making me a liar, I can't put this bitch down lol

billybobjones

wow 5 whole euros?!?

I pay 30 a month.

Switching to the iPhone. i know iMessage is no BBM, but close enough.

Slash82

5 Euros don't sound much.
But 5Euros for something that doesn't work is too much!

And keep in mind, if you sum up the money from every BB user, who pays money that service monthly (even it is only 5Euros)) - there are millions of Euros!
And RIM should put that money in a reliable backup or emer.system.

Something like that should NEVER happen!
It's their job.

What if:
You go to a doctor and he tells you:
"I'm sorry can't take care of your flesh-wound, cause we ran out of needles to fix that.
Maybe come back in 3days."

Eduardo.ocando

I am in Trinidad and Tobago, its 7:31 am here and it has been down since i think 11 pm last night

shebmiller

Wow, soooooo many haters out there. Everyone calm down, no need to get this whole "let's sue RIM" sentiment get out of hand. Besides, you would never win. This whole server side problem could maybe be related to a QNX switch...
