Quick Review: BlackBerry PlayBook Zip Sleeve

The Zip Sleeve for the BlackBerry PlayBook I can honestly say is my favorite case to date. I picked up this orange one at BlackBerry World (unfortunately we don't stock it, but we do have blue, black and gray) and I have been using it ever since. I did start out with the convertible case, but I've since moved on as I prefer the "naked" device without having it in the case all the time. The zip sleeve keeps my PlayBook protected all the time, and it's easy to get it out and in again. If you're somewhere that you need to get the tablet in and out of the case quickly, you can also leave it half zipped so it acts like a slip case of sorts. Overall I highly recommend this case. It does what I need it to and it holds up to the elements. Check out the video above for my quick review.

Hey Adam, thanks for the video. I'm sure it will help many with their purchasing decisions, but I have only one question to ask: could you also review the BlackBerry Leather Envelope? I am very interested in that one and am not sure if I should buy it vs. the Zip Sleeve presented here.

Seriously, we don't carry the CrackBerry Orange! Are you kidding me! Someone kick the buyer's you know WHAT! j/k But we SHOULD encourage them to stock it, I bet it WOULD sell, I know I was admiring it at the PB event I attended here in Philly in early April. :)

I'm using the CaseMate case with the flip-out stand, which I like... BUT the front is completely uncovered -- other than a thin screen protector I placed over the touch screen. I would like a case like the zip sleeve in your review for transporting the PlayBook... IF (big "if") it would accommodate the extra bulk added by the CaseMate case. However, I'm guessing there isn't enough give/play in the zip sleeve for the playbook while it's in the CM case/stand...? But hope springs eternal.

I fell in love with the blue version of this zip sleeve. I found that if I turned the cover that came with the PlayBook inside out, it is the same color blue as my zip sleeve. I put the original (neoprene?) cover inside the zip sleeve, put my PlayBook face down on the original cover, zip the whole thing up, and the screen is double-cushioned. I carry it with me everywhere in my purse without worrying, and it is so easy to unzip and pull it out.

how do you wash the zip sleeve?
with it being memory foam your not suppose to wash it
