sick and tired of playbook posts! get it out already dammit!

Posted by Bla1ze Thursday, Mar 03, 2011 446 days ago

Agreed.. Just want it out already. The waiting game is killing it before it even arrives.

Get it out already, indeed. They can try hyping it up all they want but after so long people stop caring because it becomes old news. Especially in technology, old news = bad news as you're going to be outdated by the time they ship.

I know I've started looking at the other tablet possibilities now, mainly the ones with the NVIDIA Tegra processor. Not sure if the A9 will be worth it over the Tegra anymore...

The NVIDIA Tegra uses an A9 Cortex architecture, the same one that is found in the Texas Instrument 4430 OMAP, which the PlayBook uses. In benchmark tests the TI OMAP 4430 runs circles around the NVIDIA Tegra.

I agree with Restless Soul, I was so excited to get a Playbook now I am over it and thinking of looking at the Ipad 2. Yes I said it, I am going to look at he Ipad 2. The window of opportunity is closing for the Playbook.

"dual camera's... it also makes a great e-book reader".

Wow.......what great specs! Its ads like this that don't do RIM any good!

Just MY opinion.

really getting tired of these leaks with no real info, they should release the pricing scheme and and the release date already

Posted by Berry2Berry3 Thursday, Mar 03, 2011 446 days ago

Lalido I agree, the fact that that info is out yet makes me think we are months away from a release date for the Playbook.

Waiting for the iPad 2 to come out first has it's advantages. You just have to look at the negative press the Xoom is getting with it's pricing being higher than Apple's. The fact that it came out before the iPad 2 has a short shelf life gain. If they pedal their prices back now to compete it'll be seen as a defeatist move. RIM is now "in the know" and can price the PlayBook accordingly and advertise the things that set it apart. That could end up being a long-term gain ... for RIM and price wise for us.

Cool.
I have a Source nearby. I just might be buying my new PlayBook there!

The Canadian date is April 24th, a co-ordinated launch among carriers (and I assume retail).

I work for The Source! and a few weeks ago, I remember my manager showing me a paper with future release dates for numerous devices. The Motorola Atrix was scheduled for a March 17th 2011 release, and the Blackberry Playbook was scheduled for a March 15th 2011 release. I also remember the Blackberry Rep mentioning that release date when I asled her. Wheter that helps or not, hopes up?

ps- That advertising is from our latest flyer!
