Both great ads, the 2nd one just a tad better! Like the emotional connection and showing off of the new features.
On another note, they said the slogan "be bold" better than their last ads.
diegonei Feb 21, 2012 at 1:38 pm
They got the marketing right!??!
NOW I'm excited! :D
TheUnknownUser Feb 21, 2012 at 6:21 am
the 2nd one is totally awesome
RedEyeBerry Feb 21, 2012 at 6:22 am
I hope you guys don't get mad at me, but I was expecting a native twitter application with this so waited update what a sad moment anything else is great but was really expecting that
BBPandy Feb 21, 2012 at 6:27 am
Did you check out "TweetBook" ???
BB_Vee Feb 21, 2012 at 7:15 am
Lemma is pretty good too plus it's free. Gosh I'm loving typing on my PB now. The predict text thingy is so cool for people like me, touch screen challenged. But yeah, check out Lemma as well.
Kiddo2050 Feb 21, 2012 at 9:55 am
RIM will probably write one, but I was thinking do I really want all those tweets in my inbox??
BBPandy Feb 21, 2012 at 6:23 am
Love the 2nd one...Finally a BlackBerry commercial that shows it in everyday use, & connects to the viewer emotionally
Hamp Feb 21, 2012 at 6:24 am
Nice! Glad to see better commercials with the features of 2.0! Yes, the second one really seem to highlight the versatility of the Playbook.
sk8er_tor Feb 21, 2012 at 6:30 am
One minute commercials!
CJH315 Feb 21, 2012 at 6:32 am
I agree, they nailed it on the marriage proposal. More emotional, with a touch of the device features! SWOOSH! Nuthin but net! LOL
Strider2112 Feb 21, 2012 at 9:31 am
Spoiler alert, lol
ekafara Feb 21, 2012 at 6:34 am
I'm very impressed with RIM and these.
FryBerry Feb 21, 2012 at 6:40 am
Absolutely awesome - would like to see a dock to hold the PB while plugged in to my TV.
mavricxx Feb 21, 2012 at 6:23 pm
+1 with full size SDXC card support and like 4 full sized USB ports as well! In other words, we want USB hosting as well RIM..keep up the great work! We love you RIM!!!
antikorr Feb 21, 2012 at 6:44 am
Gosh! I regret I didn't buy PlayBook when I was in Indonesia. So cheap there. Decided to wait for the new one with 3G support. Hope I made a right decision. But still I want PlayBook sooooo much! Especially now, when there's 2.0 out.

Blackberry_boffin Feb 21, 2012 at 7:29 am
I dare you to tell me this is not cool!
gord888 Feb 21, 2012 at 11:07 am
it's not cool... what's cooler than being cool?
00stryder Feb 25, 2012 at 3:55 pm
ICE COLD!
joelled Feb 21, 2012 at 7:37 am
Love these commercials! The Rimpire stricken back!!
MunsieGames Feb 21, 2012 at 7:41 am
Very nice ads! WTG BB!
kidmac13 Feb 21, 2012 at 8:02 am
I like them both, but what I really like about the first one is how they make it like you can use it to help with everything so you feel like you have to have it on you all the time.
iToya Feb 21, 2012 at 8:23 am
Loving these ads...
shingi_70 Feb 21, 2012 at 8:30 am
Great ads. The 2nd one showed off the features better while the 1st was more aimed at using it to be productive. Two great commercials attacking each space.
Going to have to tell my friend with the playbook to update as this pretty much corrects all his complaints.
theuncensoredthinker Feb 21, 2012 at 8:31 am
2.0 is buggy everytime I attempt to open bbm on playbook it crashes?????????
Strider2112 Feb 21, 2012 at 9:35 am
Did you try rebooting?
Abrante Feb 21, 2012 at 11:20 am
As Strider suggested, did you try rebooting? mine works fine!
Rellskie Feb 21, 2012 at 9:13 am
Yeah I'm liking these commercials! RIM keep it up!
DBX00 Feb 21, 2012 at 9:19 am
Good stuff. They've finally learned how to make a good commercial.
dolphinsb Feb 21, 2012 at 9:19 am
i like both 2nd one is awesome..........RIM..........Be.....Bold........its your time.....
diruocco Feb 21, 2012 at 9:35 am
the second is just perfect. It's exactly what they need
jr4941 Feb 21, 2012 at 9:43 am
Now we're talking! Get those commercials on the air!
Happy #twosday!
yolare Feb 21, 2012 at 9:48 am
The ads are awesome!!
Wish they give us more keyboards option...
BrizzadMan Feb 21, 2012 at 9:49 am
Great commercials. Especially like the second one...
Kiddo2050 Feb 21, 2012 at 9:59 am
I'm a big RIM fan and these are fine, but I still think there is a lot of dead space where a voice over could help with the selling.
They also need a commercial that shows off the top apps (when they have them). Even the BEst Buy ad said Kindle, but I couldn't find it in 2.0. I use and love Kobo but market in US wants kindle, no sense fighting it.
I'm hoping they are holding some big apps for announcement at Mobile World Congress in a week or so.
ffejie Feb 21, 2012 at 10:11 am
Second one is light years ahead of the first one. The second one does two things:
1. Connects emotionally to the right demographic.
2. Demonstrates unique BlackBerry features.
The first one might as well be a Samsung Galaxy ad. It doesn't rely on the BlackBerry brand enough, and doesn't specifically call out why I would rather have the PlayBook over an iPad.
theuncensoredthinker Feb 21, 2012 at 10:33 am
No I didn't reboot I'm at work now (london england) so will try when I get home. Has anyone else had the sae issue with bbm crashin??
gord888 Feb 21, 2012 at 11:08 am
did you upgrade your bridge?
BB_Vee Feb 21, 2012 at 10:45 am
Yes emotional connection! This is the kind of stuff RIM needs to do. I really like both ads.
birdman_36 Feb 21, 2012 at 10:55 am
#2 is the best advertisement ever from RIM. What was the first one about? lol
Strider2112 Feb 21, 2012 at 11:31 am
how you use the new linkedIn features of OS2.0 to organize your lifestyle or something like that
FunktasticLucky Feb 21, 2012 at 11:41 am
the first one was showcasing the new integrated inbox and all it's cool features with showing you contacts info and stuff right in the inbox.
pupetville Feb 21, 2012 at 12:02 pm
Theres still no Zoom on the video camera. I bet they won't put that in their comercial.
siddo_d Feb 21, 2012 at 2:41 pm
That looks like the woman from the pictures of BB10 UI
Siiid Feb 21, 2012 at 3:03 pm
I like both, but like most people find the 2nd ad better....
peterallcdn Feb 21, 2012 at 3:30 pm
The one with the interior decorating is too confusing... I don't think the average person is going to understand what they're looking at.
The second one with the proposal is much better. Although I don't know why they don't use a narrator to help the layman understand what they're seeing and why it's good.
mavricxx Feb 21, 2012 at 6:26 pm
Now get these ads on tv ASAP RIM...specially play them on the weekends and at the movie theaters!
mavricxx Feb 22, 2012 at 6:07 am
I feel duped by RIM- the Android player everybody thought we were gonna get- we DIDN'T get and what's more...there aren't ANY decent Android apps in app world they all suck! I thought we were gonna get the Android that ACTUALLY plays ANDROID and we can open and download Android apps from the Android Market but NOPE! There isn't ANY IM Apps still- Skype, Yahoo Messenger, OoVoO or anything just the sucky video app that belongs to RIM and which I can't use cause nobody I know has a PlayBook! Then there's the books, I'm going to college and Kobo doens't have crap of the ones I need so I figured with Android we would get Amazon, Kindle, etc... NOPE! Not even a decent Navigation App... we didn't get anything, as far as I can tell we got duped...again! I've been so caught up in the bridge remote that the more I've been thinking about it the more I get pissed. Another thing the email didn't work for me either, it won't let me setup Yahoo Mail! So still, what can I use my PlayBook for...surfing the web! TOTALLY USELESS!!!
lightfingers99 Feb 22, 2012 at 9:38 am
Great Ads! I like the second one better because it actually shows why the playbook is better than the other tablets out there especially at $199-299. The second one also focusses on the right consumers and attaches emotion to the brand. I remember feeling this way when I bought my second blackberry! I'm excited!
In the next few months we'll be seeing a lot of new apps! :)
