Kudos to AT&T if it's true. T-Mobile is dragging their feet and it's going to cost them.

WOW, you are one dedicated blogger :)

I hope the 8120 hits the consumer market at those prices right away too.

Official word from corporate is that retail will be getting "a pearl 2 towards the end of april". Did not ask if it was 8120 or 8110 but i would assume it is the same as the one that launches today.

All I have to say on this is that AT&T reps recieve 10 and 30 day pre launch announcements for new devices....and NEITHER the 8120 or the 8110 has been indicated...

EDIT: AT&T does have information now flowing on the 8120, but no consumer launch date.

OK, forgive me but what's the excitment. There is no GPS, and it still only 64K of memory. Where is the 9000. What am I not getting?

i think the "excitement" here was the surprise. the prevailing thought was that at&t would get the 8110 and that would be in april. granted it's a business release and not consumer release, so the april thing will hold true, but still kinda cool that there was a surprise.

it typically seems new phones and release dates are the worst kept secrets on the internet..so cool to see a surprise happen.

Folks, I just got off the phone with an AT&T rep. They did not have any of the Blackberry 8120 devices in their inventory nor did they see an arrival date. The rep did make a few calls to local stores to see if they had any on order, the closest date was 4 months out. It seemed as though the product was too new because information was scarce concerning the 8120.

I am expecting a call tomorrow from AT&T hoping there is an actual release soon.

only "business" customers for now...probably won't hit the retail/consumer stores for a few more weeks

Well, it just came available on AT&T's premier website. I see it available now where earlier the sales rep did not show on their inventory. Hooray. I'm fighting over a discount right now. Cross your fingers,

It is already available on my premier site for $199 with activation, $249 without. Please keep in mind, it is only on business site right now, and not consumer site or store yet.

I'm getting my first blackberry from Verizon. It is the 8130. I've been a long time Palm user (but, not a treo user) and wanted to finally just have one device to carry around.

Does this mean that one can access intenet thru a home WiFi network without a Blackberry data plan and/or without racking up data useage charges?
