BlackBerry owner takes apart his Storm 2 blindfolded!

By Kevin Michaluk on 8 Oct 2011 01:36 pm EDT

While the judging panel is still debating over which of the five finalists should win the grand prize in CrackBerry's BlackBerry Super Fanboy Contest, I wanted to give props to one of the most impressive non-finalist entries submitted.

Most tech junkies are familiar with the always popular phone tear-down video... where you disassemble a  smartphone to see what's inside. And I think everybody can recall watching a classic movie where you have a military scene and soldiers training to take apart their rifles blindfolded.

With the Smartphone Wars heating up, it only makes sense then that true BlackBerry fanboys / soldiers should be trained and ready for battle... which putting one and one together means being able to take part your BlackBerry blindfolded! In the above video you can watch Alex Cervantes (user name TheWait_IsOver on CrackBerry) do just that with his Blackberry Storm 2. And after the take down is complete, Alex recites his This Is My BlackBerry pledge of allegiance (read the words of it below). Totally epic! Nice job Alex.

This Is My BlackBerry

This is my BlackBerry.
There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My BlackBerry is my best friend.
It is my life.
I must master it, as I must master my life.
Without me, my BlackBerry is useless.
Without my BlackBerry, I am useless.
I must operate my BlackBerry true.
I must IM faster than my iEnemy who is trying to kill BBM.
I must out-message him before he out-messages me. I will...
My BlackBerry and myself know that what counts in a smartphone war is not the sound of fart apps.
We know that it is the productivity that counts.
My BlackBerry is smart, even as I, because it is mine.
I will learn it as a brother.
I will learn its weakness, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its options and its menu.
I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against Apple.
Before, I swear this creed.
My BlackBerry and myself are defenders of the BlackBerry Community.
We are the masters of our iEnemy.
We are the saviors of my business and personal life.
So BB it, until there is no enemy, but Peace.

thanks Michelle. thank you for gettin it up there for me.
thanks go to Bla1ze as well...and thanks Kevin, for the recognition.
I thank all you CB folks for your praises.
bbpandy, It is an honor to accept the RIMPIRE Epaulette from you, thank you. I will wear it proudly, as my CrackBerry Forums Profile Avatar.
I have disassembled/reassembled my 9550, many times. It is my current and only BlackBerry(besides my PlayBook), so I need to keep it maintained internally and externally, as well as software wise. I keep it clean and ready.
I plan to capture another video of myself completing the reassembly, which is why this video is "to be continued...".
I will be in San Fransisco, in attendance of DevCon 2011.
Those of you who didn't like my video, you can come see me.
Those of you who liked what you saw, you can come see me.
..anyone and all are welcome to join the BBM Group "TuesdayPassPeeps", which has been started for locals who will be attending DevCon and are arranging to meet up. Here is a link to the thread which contains the post(#31)with the BBM Group Barcode to join...

Is Sargent the Rank of the Epaulette I made?.......I have no idea what the Various ranks look like....except for US Colonel (thx to SG1)

Don't mean to hate... but I'll be more impressed if he can put it back together. There are a bunch of things I can take apart blind folded.

So this proves he hates the storm 2 that much he's willing to take it apart?

That phone is a piece of crap.

I threw it in a river.

Hmmm...this is definitely the Marine Corps' Rifleman's creed. Its pretty awesome seeing as I am both a Marine AND have been a blackberry owner for years.

ITA ;)

AND this soldier deserves some special award. Very cool, and the pledge shows SUCH fanboy dedication, my goodness, there must be some RIM memorabilia to send him?
