BlackBerry officially unveils the BlackBerry Z3 Jakarta Edition

In February they said April
Later they said beginning of may
But the 15th is middle of may

If there is something BlackBerry is not capable of it handling release dates.
It started under lazarides and even Chen isn't able to fix that.
Makes me wonder if we will really see the classic this year...

Since they said end of the year I truly believe BlackBerry is going to miss the Christmas shoppers again and release it in January with a comment that they never aimed for the holiday season since it is a business device...

Posted via CB10

Can you post a link to the direct statement coming from BlackBerry when they said April or May?

And the truth is apple phones can't be held a certain way and you get purple pictures, faster isn't always better.

If apple world is better imore will appreciate hearing it more than Crackberry I think, just a thought. Have a good one.

Posted via CB10

Apple stick to the deadline cause they have had the same system for the last how many phones? They just updated little things at a time. They haven't really had a new phone till the next one comes out and they have had years to get it done BlackBerry has done this big change in way less time

Posted via BlackBerry z10!

Oh man guys at some point you have to face the truth.
BlackBerry can't handle their own deadlines. Full stop

And its not about supporting apple and being honest some of your arguments are just childish

BlackBerry needs to fix it and they will only do if the understand that deadlines are important

Fix it - end of the story

Posted via CB10

You are 100% correct. This is one more example of BlackBerry building hype for a date and then the excitement fades because of the late release. We went through this with the launch of BB10, the PlayBook and every device they released in the last year. You would think that if they can't stick to their own deadlines they would stop giving them.

Posted via CB10

I get what you're saying but for one thing, this phone was the first one made by Foxconn so they share in this delay. The other thing is that the phones actually started selling in April when pre-orders started. ;-) hehe

BlackBerry has done the same F'ing for years: bbos 4-6, 6-7 changing small things. Your argument is ridiculous and childish. Apple consistently has much better pictures than any BlackBerry out there. You seem to be rebuttal from ios 4 which its improved immensely so.

Posted via CB10

Sorry I thought I would point out that " takes better picture then any blackberry .." is a personal opinion and everybody will have a different one ! In fact I know two apple users ( Iphone 5s and 4s both on IOs7 ) who are complete picture freaks always looking at pics and wanting them to look good..and they admitted that they prefer my z10 pics way more then their iphone ! Moreover, at work a lot of last minute pics for admin stuff were taken with my z10 and Not the Iphone 5s (ios7) of my co-worker as she felt my z10 took nicer pics! And she also got feedback from other employees asking her what professional cam did she use for those pics as they look great and they want their picture taken from it ...but again that's just their opinions!

Posted via CB10

You are so wrong. My daughter as a iPhone 5, and she frequently grabs my Z30 to take pictures because she thinks my phone takes better picture. So you are right about one thing, it's an opinion thing.

Posted via CB10

If you want better pictures for God's buy a camera. The BB, iPhone and all others are first and foremost communication devices, you know phones.

Rick Pringle, Z30 on CB.10

The Z10 camera is very good. Where it could be better is in low light situations. Apple's camera IS better in that category.

I love the Time Shift option on my Z10. When I have used it while out with friends it gets a lot of "Wow, what's that?. That's so cool.", and "I wish I had that on my phone. That's a feature I'd use all the time", etc.

Posted via CB10

Really Apple making better pictures? You have got to be kidding me. Their pictures are ridiculous and they have had the same crappie screen and OS for the past 10 years. All their phones are pretty much the same so of course they are going to stick to their release dates because they are not changing anything.

Posted via CB10

Bbschorch is right. And he is right because Chen himself said he was. BlackBerry acknowledge their problem in delivering on their statements. This is not debatable and 2 months is two months.

We are all BlackBerry fans here but they still send the wrong message.

Z30 Vivo Brazil

This is such an ignorant comment. I have a Z30 and use it as my primary device, but I've also had a Nexus 5 and an iPhone 5S that I was using as a secondary device. Both phones are fantastic to use and excel I'm their own way. Bottom line is that Apple does execute precisely as they say and they make quality devices. Hold it a certain way and purple pictures is a gross exaggeration, but keep telling yourself that.

Posted via CB10

He is talking about release dates. He didn't say nothing about which phone is better! People need to learn how to take negative feedback on here. BlackBerry has lie to us before that's a fact. But I love my BlackBerry z30.

Posted via CB10

Everything I'm reading seems to be some other group paraphrasing what BlackBerry said, which was that the Z3 is "expected" to be available in April. I haven't read any "it WILL be released on this day" statements. I'm open to be corrected. I see Chen being careful with his statements... and rightfully so. I'm not an apologist or anything, and not really knowledgeable when it comes to efficient corporate operation, but as a spectator it surprises me that BlackBerry can be this agile and efficient after such big changes and layoffs in the company.

To be up to the standards of some people here and to match their much larger and more powerful competition , yes, they need to set a release date and then release on that precise date. But I don't see how it's fair to hold an underdog company to a release date they never precisely pinpointed. Even if it were FOR SURE April... they missed the mark by a couple weeks. I guess I don't see how that is a big deal.

BlackBerry is in a strange position where many people are fine with telling them they are the worst... just crap, yet at the same time expecting perfection from them. Imagine if they released on a planned date and it was discovered that one could hack past the lock screen? They would never hear the end of it, whereas with Apple it just gets swept under the rug... again... with all the other hacks. But boy do they have a nice and precise release day.

I think the problem was that this device was announced at that world congress in February, and to not have it released for almost 3 more months seems like an eternity. I suspected it was going to take long when there was obviously no working models back then as no videos were ever released.

Yeah, 2 weeks late and he's putting the blame on BlackBerry when Foxconn designed and manufactured the phone.

What's worse, he has no intention of buying this phone and it likely won't be available in his country.

Also, the official date was only announced recently. "Around April" is not official. Today is the official launch date.

Keep hating... it's erupting from a profound jealousy that BlackBerry makes the best phones.

Posted via CB10

I first heard of this device back In December and Chen said they were aiming for an April release. Most said it was impossible for BlackBerry to turn out a new device in less than five months. Well, It took five months, was unveiled today and is available in 2 days. Thats pretty good imo and pretty true to his word. I dont see why all the hate. Cant please everyone all the time I guess.

Sent from my Z10. Or was it my Q10? Either way, it was sent from an awesome phone.

ok, so the rumors are that Apple is releasing iphone 6 in August, does that mean it has to be August 1st that the stupid isheep start flocking to their closest apple store and wait? NO....

They probably won't start selling until mid to late August.

Boohoo boohoo, so what if Blackberry doesn't officially start putting the Z3 into consumers hands until Mid May.... get over yourself!!

Well if iPhone 6 is anything like it is rumored to be I'll be getting one most likely to go alongside my Z30. That ought to hold me over until BlackBerry updates its flagship. The Z30 has never quite done it for me.

Posted via CB10

Looks good. I wish I could see one in Canada. Not that I would switch because I already have a z30 but I still want to see it out of curiosity.

I would have considered this for my kids but I got them z10's instead.

Posted via CB10

With a 5 inch HD screen and a 2500 mh battery for less then 200 dollars off contract this is a beast of a device.

Since can't post in the other post for z3 review. I'll say it here. Can't read anything there with all those background images

Posted via CB10

I just hit the overflow menu and hit open in browser. That defeats the purpose of the CB app but that article is not very appealing in the app in its current state.

~ TheRealFixxxer 

Yeah the other post looks horrendous on the Crackberry app.

Posted via z30 STA100-5 the only high end business device on the market

First congratulations to BlackBerry for coming through on your promise to deliver the Z3 and to Foxconn for making it happen.

People of Indonesia enjoy!

Posted via CB10

Yups....we will do...

It would take 1-2 days for it to arrive in my city...even though my city is 45 minutes flight from Jakarta...across the sea..

What's up with review of the z3 looks terrible on my q10 and there pics of somebody's house.. unreadable.

Posted via CB10

Lol. At this price, everyone should have one. And I do mean EVERYONE!

Sent from my Z10. Or was it my Q10? Either way, it was sent from an awesome phone.

This should sell considering 2 things.

1.Bigger screen
2.Lower price

Hope for the best

Posted from my Black Beast Q10

noticed the picture of Z3 has ATT bars on it. but no Z30 from them yet. I had to buy mine Z30 out rigght, and loving it.

One month late and too expensive. Another classic BlackBerry fail. Next up, Classic fail.

Posted via CB10

Yup, for the market it is targeting it is too expensive. Coming in at sub $200 should not be an idiotic $199. A buck off, really?

You have to remember that this device is competing against some very decent, and much cheaper, counterparts in those regions of the world. BlackBerry needed something to undercut the other devices while still delivering an amazing BlackBerry 10 experience. They failed before they even started. Sales numbers will show it. Just you wait.

Posted via CB10

It's not "a buck off", it's a converted Indonesian price based on a fluctuating USD conversion.

Posted via CB10

What? Really? Let's just keep it simple, clear and without the wording that is meant to mean nothing to the average Joe and say. " A buck off". There, that summed it up nicely.

Posted via CB10 on my Q10

Yes its not that cheap. But in countries like india if its in 12 - 14k range this may be good competitor for 620 lumia and Samsung grand etc

Posted from my Black Beast Q10

Well technically john chen did deliver on sub-$200! Haha

I really hope this works out for BlackBerry, because I think it has to

Posted via CB10

Is the blackberry brand really so coveted in Indonesia? That's what the company is counting on here. If they are right it should sell like hotcakes. People will pay a bit more for the premium brand

Posted via CB10

That's why you are a former CEO. Z3 a winner? Moto E will cost less than $130. Moto G was already a huge winner. How do you expect Z3 to even compete.

Posted via CB10

If I may to introduce my country with more than 200 million population, almost kids above 6 y/o knows Blackberry (at least BBM). We can find easily Davis, Amstrong or Gemini..the most famous BB device and we usually call it with their name not number type...

So it never made it to the sub $150 mark. Such a disappointment. I was hoping for their breakout device in the entry market Blackberry would make this phone so amazingly cheap that consumers would not be able to stop themselves from buying it even if they totally despised BlackBerry.

Posted via CB10 on my Q10

Yeah, instead it will flop like every other BlackBerry 10 device to date. It will also give more excuses to BlackBerry as to why to quit the hardware business. Who knows, maybe it's intentional.

Posted via CB10

I agree, when they said under 200 dollars I was just hoping it would be closer to the 150-175 mark (silly me, what was I thinking?) Im a blackberry fan but even I would have problems buying the z3 over the moto G, cheaper price and better specs.

Sorta on a different subject......what's up with the Z3 review. OMG you can't read it on the Q10. Horrible!

Posted via CB10

By the way. I'm liking the Z3....good job BlackBerry! Hopefully it will make its way to the US..

We'll see...

Posted via CB10

Last Sunday, I happened to stop by to an erafone shop in Mal Taman Anggrek Jakarta. This store is one of the pre-order partner for  Z3. Luckily, there is a sample. So I managed to feel the real stuff.

First Impression, doesn't look like a low end.
The movement between the menu is smooth, fast. Screen is clear. Though sometimes when we swipe on the screen, your finger a bit stuck in the screen. But I guess that is because no screen protector yet.
I couldn't try more as I was in a rush.

Posted via CB10

Holy Crap! That Adam Zeis article hurts my eyes, brain, ugh! I'm on a Z30. In the future please avoid that format.

Posted via CB10

Have to completely agree with previous comments. Possibly the worst used background I've ever seen. I skipped most of the article because i couldn't make our the words. Very poorly chosen background

Posted via CB10

Demo unit actually looks good, doesn't look low-end at all. Put an order a few days ago, will be picking up my Z3 tomorrow. Very excited!

Posted via CB10

Bitch Bitch Bitch.

BB releases a cool new phone and all anyone can talk about is they missed the dated by two weeks.

Grow up!

Somebody fix this CB app. The z3 review article renders horrendously in this app.

Z10 STL100-2 / running official

Is $199 US Dollars a cheap strong alternative? I don't get how it will compete with the Free and $99 Android models?

Posted with my Z30 on Verizon from Philly

Execution is still an issue. Even on a phone with moderate specs and no leading edge tech.

We shall see how it does.

It's not a phone that would sell well at all in the U.S..unless they added 4g, better camera and a few other items.
Even with that I don't think it would do well here.

Using a BlackBerry Z10! OS:

It will flop, just like the Classic will flop. BlackBerry just does not know how to put a decent phone together and get it to the market at the right time, even with the help of Foxconn. Also, I completely agree that this device would not sell in North America at all. The specs are very mediocre and the price is much too high.

Posted via CB10

I wish the reviewer would have directly compared the screen of the Z3 to the Z30 for the sharpness factor.

Okay, so now market the hell out of this thing as the only sub-$200 USD 'full-featured BBM phone', spread it to the rest of the world within the next month or two via other strong markets (e.g. South Africa, India, Middle East, Nigeria, Caribbean), also for mass enterprise upgrades from BBOS devices, then release the full features for bbm (videochat, etc) to its and android once sales taper off.

Posted via CB10

They launched this too late - the moto E is sucking all the air out of the room - the Z3 launch didn't even trend in Jakarta, search traffic is low as well. I can't think of a single successful phone which people were not talking about on launch date.

I hate it. Another larger phone. Awkward to hold and carry!! If I they wanted handheld phones this is another fail. Why did they ever get rid of the playbook it was not much bigger then the last 2 berry's. Nope not impressed. -sent from my boarder line too big q10!

Posted via CB10

Can't even read the post cuz of the background and text colours. All good though I'm sure it's going to be a great device!

Posted using the best phone ever, the Z30!

I still prefer a blackberry device with physical keyboard. That make blancberry different from other smartphone.
