BlackBerry Night at the Movies - North Brunswick, NJ Posted in Special Coverage on 29 Jul 2009 10:02 by Craig Johnston |
Dante Sarigumba and I decided to attend the BlackBerry Night at the Movies event in North Brunswick, New Jersey. We bumped into Rob Kao (of SmrtGuard) who was also attending. Bear in mind that this is not a public all-out splashy device launch, but rather an internal event for people who sell T-Mobile BlackBerrys. So the event was attended by T-Mobile employees and people from companies who sell T-Mobile BlackBerrys. Still, the event was maybe a little on the cheap side. For example there was no food supplied, but rather snacks. And by snacks I mean cookies and soda. Dante, Rob, and I resorted to overpriced and stale movie theater hot dogs for dinner before heading back to the event and picking up our "snacks". The event itself was held in one of the theaters and RIM/T-Mobile got up on stage to pump up the crowd of about 35 people. They called out ticket stub numbers and gave out some pretty cool prizes ranging from BlackBerry 8520's (well IOU's for them), to sweat shirts, to BlackBerry audio gateways. Then they played a pretty cool extended commercial for the BlackBerry Curve with cool close-ups of the Curve, including shots of actually flying through the keys. More pictures after the jump.

Man I wish AT&T did that, i'd be all on it!!!
How ironic! I live in North Brunswick, NJ. I wish I had known about it.
Ditto.
I know the subject must come up at these type of events: When is T-Mobile getting it's 3G BB,the Driftwood?
I live maybe 10 minutes away and had no idea until this post.
This was at Regal Cinemas. I can tell by the lobby pic.
oh damn i live in NB... wish i knew about it. and yeah thats at regal cinemas
Yes it was at the Regal (where Bertucci's is). It was a closed event but I guess you could have gate crashed :-)
lol ... not for nothing but sounds more like a loser-fest.
why north brunswick would be chosen for anything blackberry related is beyond me, but kinda cool nonetheless. whats up frouz and matt? didnt know you guys were on here.
