It's a great app in concept, but poor execution. Looks really good but...Memory Hog. Adding feeds is awkward. No integration between BB Browser and BB News Feeds for adding feeds. No desktop interface for adding feeds. No Google Reader integration.

Agreed. Deleted this app from my phone. Would lag Constantly.

Is this the successor to the Social Feed?
lovin2act Jun 9, 2011 at 5:58 pm
Tried it and hated it.
Viigo is the RSS king in my opinion. I almost gave up my berry for Android when they shut it down for a few weeks there. But RIM got it back up and running again thank goodness!!
flyonawall Jun 11, 2011 at 10:20 am
Did they update Viigo to work w BB OS 6? They really. Droppped the ball by killing Viigo. If it works I'm. Going back!!

Can someone please tell me how to "zoom in on images and text in feed items" on my storm? I've pressed everything I swear.
And being from outside the US, thanks a lot rroyy.

This app has actually gotten worse. I can't 'side swipe' on the track pad to get to the next feed and the space bar for scrolling doesn't work anymore so I'm fighting with the scrolling against picture and links. I have no idea what the improvements are; this new version is a step back for me. I'm now looking for a new RSS reader and thinking about downgrading to OS 5 to get rid of the lag across the OS and download Viigo.

What device and OS version are you on? I'm on a 9780 running 6.0.0.570.

Viigo was so, so much better. But... This is what is available, have to make due with what is there.
News Feeds has some nice new changes. 1 it is much faster, both going article to article, but more importantly closing or going from one feed to another. Previously there was a significant delay in those actions. 2 it has a mark this feed read feature now. Scroll thru and mark it read where ever you are. No need to find the top and mark only prior messages read.
I'm pleased with the update, wish I still could use Viigo, but that is harping about something othere than what this article is about, an update to News Feeds.

FINALLY! They fixed the bug that would prevent scrolling past the header images (at least on my 9780 running 6.0 (build 570)). That was. SO annoying. (Though not as annoying as this blasted keyboard stutteer on this piece of junk phone. Waiting for my 3rd replacement from T-Mo)

This news feeds program is a joke, it has great potential, but no where near what Viigo was 3 years ago. Btw I'm running Viigo on a Torch. Just go to the viigo website and download the last version (for the storm) and it works. Its a little buggy, but still so much better than the News Feeds program.
RIM buying and then killing Viigo was a huge mistake, it was far and away my most used app. This news feeds program is a poor excuse for a replacement. I've been a loyal blackberry user for over a decade, but am seriously considering jumping ship to apple or a droid. Not only can't rim get a simple new feeds program to work nicely, but they KILLED an awesome program that does just that.
For this as well as a number of other reasons, in a few months when I get my hardware upgrade ill be making the switch.
Bye bye RIM.
