BlackBerry Master Control Program is one of those applications that is a must have for any advanced BlackBerry user. Be it to create back up files, take screenshots or even create .cod and .alx files, it's a great application to have at hand should you ever need it.  The latest version has been released putting it at version 0.9.2 Beta 10 and this time around the list of changes has seen some exponential growth.  Read on to get a look at the change log.

  • MCP gets a major facelift!  Brand new graphics for the navigation panel and installers! – Thanks Shane!!!
  • Save Modules now allows user to create ALX/JAD for saved modules
  • Added Backup & Restore for third party applications (2 clicks)
  • Added ALX/JAD Builder with drag & drop window for building the module list
  • System tray icon right click context menu updated
  • By default MCP minimizes to taskbar now, not the system tray (clean installs only)
  • Left side navigation panel reduced number of icons dramatically (it was too cluttered)
  • Auto PIN checking is now at 3 seconds (clean install)
  • OS Management:  Added "Delete JVM" checkbox (if checked Application Loader will start with the /nojvm parameter which will destroy JVM on the device)
  • OS Management:  Added "Full Wipe" checkbox (if checked Java Loader will "Wipe" the device destroying any existing IT Policies prior to the OS installation)
  • Navigation:  Load/Erase/Save Modules used to be "hidden" under the "Java Loader" page, they are now in the main navigation area
  • MCP Engine updated to Java Loader 5.0.0 Beta 4

That is a great list of additions to an already awesome application. Be sure to download the latest if you have a previous version installed.

This could be a really stupid comment but...

That's not someone's real device PIN# and password on there, is it?

adambigge

Yikes, that would be a monumentally bad decision...

mookish

Even if it was, it can be changed and furthermore, out of the millions of devices out there, do you know which one this is and do you have access to it? Think...

crash187

I sent a bbm request lets see what happen LOL

sgt-d

that pin is not valid btw...

kemayou

This seems like a BBSAK + CrackUtil + Shrink-A-OS All in one tool

kjs1977

Surely someone can't be that silly to leave a password?

devGOD

what's the big deal about the password being shown. my blackberry password is QWER yes thats my real password now what will you or anyone do with it? Nothing, cause no one knows me, or has access to my bb, or knows where i live, etc. Unless you're breaking into my home the chance of my BB laying around for someone to pick up is 1%

mookish

So is this similiar to or better than BBSAK?

Hamp

Oh no! Not the MCP - MASTER CONTROL PROGRAM! Isn't that the program that tried to take over in the movie 'Tron'?

You'll notice the graphic on that website as well of the eyes in the middle at the top.

OSX 10.5.5 (Leopard)

While it is not a "native" application for Apple, MCP also works inside VMWare Fusion with Windows XP SP2 on OSX 10.5.5 (Leopard). Thanks for the information Jonathan!

Has anyone tested MCP in VMWare or VirtualBox under any Linux distribution? It sounds like it should work. Let me know!

Question: This program is not detecting my device. Is anyone else having this problem?

sgt-d

are you running beta 10? on the settings page where it shows the java loader version... is there a green check mark to the left of that? it should be on 5.0.0 beta 4. beyond that if windows is making the normal usb jingle noises, it should work when you connect it.

jabbs1

i can't get it to detect mine either.

sgt-d

it might be a new problem with user account control (uac). try mcp again after disabling uac or by running it as admin. i will check my code :)

zeromaru

i used it and removed some stuff and gained from 6 to 10 mb :p

it cant remove the sample wallpapers on os 5.0.0.238 tho (bold)

mookish

Use crackmem for that...

sgt-d

5.0.0.238 sample wallpapers... what is the name of the cod file? i can add it to mcp for detection. you can also add it to the "patterns" of files that mcp looks for. the os modules can all be edited manually by clicking one of the small buttons in that area.

FATMANSDAD

I've been looking for an all-in-one program like this!

The info you provided below worked. Thanks for helping a dummy like me :)

Prey521

Working great for me so far on Win7 Ultimate x64....thanks..this is nice!

sgt-d

good to hear it's working well... thank you!

RedBank

I have ever seen! It has ALL functions wrapped up into one.

I can't wait to see what this thing will look like in several months...

Nice Work!!!!

sgt-d

thank you very much!

some users are reporting problems with mcp's automatic pin detection and it seems to only be on pc's where uac is enabled.

mcp correctly implements a uac manifest (requestAdministrator) but the other layers (javaloader.exe, bbdevmgr.exe) might not be cooperating with vista/7's uac.

the disconnect is that blackberry desktop manager exclusively uses bbdevmgr.exe and rim's proprietary device drivers (signed, installed with dm) while mcp (and other third party tools) have to use javaloader.exe.

you can try to run mcp with administrator privileges or disable uac and reboot. pin's should work fine after that.

Don_Henry

I have not heard of MCP until now - the website has 3 "versions" of . . one is labeled 0.9.2.0 Beta 10, noe also has PORTABLE in the file name, and one has STAND ALONE in the file name - can someone explain the difference?

Thanks in advance!
