This could be a really stupid comment but...

That's not someone's real device PIN# and password on there, is it?

Posted by adambigge Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

Yikes, that would be a monumentally bad decision...

Posted by mookish Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

Even if it was, it can be changed and furthermore, out of the millions of devices out there, do you know which one this is and do you have access to it? Think...

This seems like a BBSAK + CrackUtil + Shrink-A-OS All in one tool

Posted by kjs1977 Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

Surely someone can't be that silly to leave a password?

Posted by devGOD Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

what's the big deal about the password being shown. my blackberry password is QWER yes thats my real password now what will you or anyone do with it? Nothing, cause no one knows me, or has access to my bb, or knows where i live, etc. Unless you're breaking into my home the chance of my BB laying around for someone to pick up is 1%

Posted by Hamp Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

Oh no! Not the MCP - MASTER CONTROL PROGRAM! Isn't that the program that tried to take over in the movie 'Tron'?

You'll notice the graphic on that website as well of the eyes in the middle at the top.

mac compatability?

Posted by sgt-d Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

OSX 10.5.5 (Leopard)

While it is not a "native" application for Apple, MCP also works inside VMWare Fusion with Windows XP SP2 on OSX 10.5.5 (Leopard). Thanks for the information Jonathan!

Has anyone tested MCP in VMWare or VirtualBox under any Linux distribution? It sounds like it should work. Let me know!

Question: This program is not detecting my device. Is anyone else having this problem?

Posted by sgt-d Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

are you running beta 10? on the settings page where it shows the java loader version... is there a green check mark to the left of that? it should be on 5.0.0 beta 4. beyond that if windows is making the normal usb jingle noises, it should work when you connect it.

Posted by jabbs1 Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

i can't get it to detect mine either.

Posted by sgt-d Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

it might be a new problem with user account control (uac). try mcp again after disabling uac or by running it as admin. i will check my code :)

i used it and removed some stuff and gained from 6 to 10 mb :p

it cant remove the sample wallpapers on os 5.0.0.238 tho (bold)

Posted by mookish Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

Use crackmem for that...

Posted by sgt-d Friday, Oct 23, 2009 842 days ago

5.0.0.238 sample wallpapers... what is the name of the cod file? i can add it to mcp for detection. you can also add it to the "patterns" of files that mcp looks for. the os modules can all be edited manually by clicking one of the small buttons in that area.

some users are reporting problems with mcp's automatic pin detection and it seems to only be on pc's where uac is enabled.

mcp correctly implements a uac manifest (requestAdministrator) but the other layers (javaloader.exe, bbdevmgr.exe) might not be cooperating with vista/7's uac.

the disconnect is that blackberry desktop manager exclusively uses bbdevmgr.exe and rim's proprietary device drivers (signed, installed with dm) while mcp (and other third party tools) have to use javaloader.exe.

you can try to run mcp with administrator privileges or disable uac and reboot. pin's should work fine after that.

I have not heard of MCP until now - the website has 3 "versions" of . . one is labeled 0.9.2.0 Beta 10, noe also has PORTABLE in the file name, and one has STAND ALONE in the file name - can someone explain the difference?

Thanks in advance!
