BlackBerry Live 2013 Recap: BBM Channels, cross-platform BBM, BlackBerry Q5 and CrackBerry Live shows galore!

Most interested in the cross platforms but the Q5 would be great for my daughter if it comes. If not I'll hand her this Z and upgrade to the next system.

Great coverage except that CB just like the rest of BlackBerry are still ignoring the PlayBook and the lack of update for it! Let's talk about that!

How about an article about the lack of any news regarding the only BlackBerry tablet!!

It's coming. You can chime in here:

I agree. PB has been neglected and needs attention to match up with its BB10 siblings. BlackBerry is on the verge of doing something special so they have to keep the pace up!

BBM going cross platform is a very big bad decision. Their best shot of making it a success is not allowing it in countries where they dominate, like India, Indonesia and Africa. Piece of advice. I recently told a friend about bbm coming to ios, and her reply was, finally I can ditch this bb phone. Kevin better pass this advice to thor. Thank you

Don't worry man, they have the numbers that we don't. I'm shur they were seeing millions if users leaving blackberry regardless of bbm. And millions more users like me with a z10 and no bbm contacts. Your small African markets aren't making them enough money obviously. Not as much as automobile and enterprise markets in North America and Europe that need to be cross platform.

On a side note, how the hell did I tune in for all of this live, have no life lol

It seems as though some are scared of competition. This could be a way to level the field. Consider it as such--- say this is the TV industry and all the TV sets used the same feed. Well what would differentiate one model or brand from the next?? Hopefully it'll be the quality of the individual set (ie Samsung or Vizio as compared to a low model offering)or in this case BlackBerry quality. Give them a chance to see what BB has to offer but make it easy for them to get on board. Maybe a poor analogy on my part but hopefully yall get the idea.

Not all companies are going to level the playing field as you strangely see it. Siri is not coming to BlackBerry10. Even Google is not creating apps for BB10. We all know Google is a company that want to take over everywhere, but they not developing for BlackBerry should let you know, we can not level things up. Most young folks have 2 phones. An android or iphone in conjunction with BlackBerry. The only reason most of them are still holding on to their blackberry is because of bbm. Enable it on other platforms and they will ditch BlackBerry. Nobody likes to hold 2 phones

What??? Sorry no one is bragging on Siri. It had its potential usage but failed to live to the hype that was created. That's EXACTLY why if BB is involved with crossing platforms they could create their own Siri that actually works. It won't be about holding a small group limited to each other through BBM, it becomes dealing with masses and seeing who's the best at innovation. That way if one chooses to change cells they won't be scared to make the leap. In other words its painfully obvious what BlackBerry was doing in the past didn't work so why not try doing something outside the box.

BBM Channels seems cool but have you seen the CrackBerry channel comments? most of them are spam....I'm interested in reading what actual community members have to say not some random people inviting to other sites and channels. Hope there's a way to clean that stuff up.

It is true I know a lot of promoters in the nightclub industry have 2 phones. One just for BBM. As soon as it goes cross platform they will be dropping BB

Apple and google will never approve a BBM app period. Ya i know it's terrible but you wait and see how true it is. In fact this might be some kind of plan of blackberrys to get them to show their true colors .
Should be interesting indeed!

Check out the Seeking Alpha, article,Why opening up BBM is the right move for Blackberry,I don't think they have a choice. It's just business and they have to suck it up.

BBM has played a very important role to get BlackBerry® at the top.
So going cross-platform won't interfere with BlackBerry's future right?
Everyone is looking forward for BBM on their Android or iOS but some BlackBerry users also hope that BlackBerry doesn't fall behind, like me.

I don't care what new app or game blackberry introduce to their customers, if they don't fix the little problems, the complaints will slow the growth. Don't they understand that negative comments spreads faster than positive comments. I want the latest and greatest too but, I want the alert notification to work first. It doesn't work on the Z10, (US version). Im talking about the alert notification you are supposed to get while you are on a call and an email or text is coming in. If I'm on a call and my child text me I won't get the text until I get off the call or look down at the blinking LED. A parent should never have to worry about losing contact from their child. We worry about other things. Fix this problem blackberry. I'm not the only person that is experiencing this issue.
