Over the weekend BlackBerry rolled out an update to BlackBerry Link for Mac, making the latest version 1.1.1.33.

The update brings along a few fixes for some issues that had been plaguing users. No new "big" features in this build but Mac users should find things a bit more stable.

The full changelog can be found in PDF form here. The update includes fixes for installation/connection, remote file access, backup/restore, swtiching devices and more.

BlackBerry Link is available as a free download from the link below.

I'm on a Windows PC but found I had the same problem. Contacted BlackBerry support and it turned out that just because I had deleted 3rd party apps (Facebook, LinkedIn) the system wanted to reload my OS. Strange.

Once you go Black, you don't go back - Q10 baby.

Yes, I'd would even do a version for every desktop OS (several Linux based OS'), just to give a message to wall street "we are still alive and won't go"

Hopefully the damn thing finally works properly.

EDIT: Looking at the release notes: 16 pages of "known issues" and only 2 and a bit of "fixes".

This tells me that have hardly anyone working on the Mac version

Link is the worst piece if software ever written. It's never worked, no matter what I do. It won't connect to my Z10 even though both link and the phone have been updated. Bring back desktop manager.

The BlackBerry Link for Mac development team must be composed of a single lone coder who has been sedated to make him think he's working at Cupertino.

Still doesn't fix the fact that you can't log into BBID on Link while connected and not connected to your mobile.

Link on my Mac Mini works but I never managed to get Link to work on my Windows laptop.

The problem seams to be due to the version of the BlackBerry device drivers and Link itself.

What a lazy article, "here is a link to PDF file with shitload of useless information good luck finding useful info in this clusterfuck".

I actually quite like link, but I came from iPhone and love that I don't have to use iTunes. ITunes is a piece of sh*t.

With link I can explore the files on my pc and mac through bb10 file browser. This is amazing. But then again, I bought a curve before my z10 and had trouble getting along with that device.

Amen. I hate iTunes. Link isn't nearly as bad as people make it sound.

Those with issues: Check your firewall. Uninstall then reinstall if you can't connect. Check your USB Connection setting on your phone (should be auto detect or set to Windows or Mac, as applicable) - Settings -> Storage and Access. Make sure BlackBerry Link is turned on in settings on your phone - Settings -> BlackBerry Link.
Check for updates for your computer. I have no issues with BlackBerry Link because of the above.

Been there done that before the update and again when Link was updated.
Still can't log into BBID on the Link panel upright hand corner. Always get a cannot log into BBID error.

May be a firewall issue. Do you get update notifications for Link in the program? It's safe to assume that you are entering the email and password correctly - maybe try changing your password? I'm not sure, just throwing out ideas.

Link isn't as bad???? You can't be serious!

It crashes all the time. It mistakenly copies songs and videos multiple times. It forgets you have a device connected. It forgets wife syncing. For a long time, album art wouldn't work right and contacts wouldn't sync.

Worst piece of crrap I've ever used. And the fact that it was dead last in the survey of things people are satisfied with suggests I'm not imagining this

Ditto. I don't think Link is that bad.

Also people, make sure your wireless router doesn't have AP isolation turned on. If so, disable it in your wireless router's settings, otherwise you'll never be able to sync over wifi.

Single most useful comment I have found. Solved my BB Link problem by simply setting Access to Mac instead of Windows. Makes Link somewhat useful. Thank you!

Yea. This bug sucks. Also u can't seem to stop kill and/or delete any of the processes. The just restart themselves. I feel like I'm dealing with a freaking windows virus from back in the day.

No issues with Link on my iMac to date. Syncs my photos and files as expected but improvement is always appreciated!

Flicked to you via CB10 on my "D10"

Link works fine for me on my mac. Dunno why people complain about it so much.

Stop the hatin' and learn to use your Mac. It's easier (and more powerful) than Windows for petes sake.

Dude, I probably know how to use my Mac (and Windows) substantially better than you. Doesn't make Link more stable, doesn't make Link sync properly, doesn't make Link stop forgetting my device.

Link is crap. Sorry.

Build 33 works fine for me on the Mac and all Synchronisation works a charm.

Not sure if the tunmgr issue is fixed but so far it didn't show up.

If BBRY Link doesn't find you device, bounce the Mac and it will most likely work then. Yes, something BBRY have to look into next.

Despite a number of improvements, Link is still unstable. Keeps crashing, creates duplicate playlists in iTunes (previous versions didn't), doesn't sync all contacts, attempts to install an older version of Link, etc. Still not good enough.
