If you're a Mac user, RIM has rolled out the latest update to BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac pushing it to v2.3. This update, is rather slim on the change log as noted below:

With BlackBerry® Desktop Software 2.3, you can synchronize your media files, back up and restore your data, and update software on BlackBerry® PlayBookTM tablets running BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0.  For more information about this release, visit http://www.blackberry.com/desktop/docs/.

If you're a little hesitant about updating to this release, we really wouldn't blame you but that said -- it's there if you're looking to give it a go. You can download it from the RIM website or if you already BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac installed it should alert you of the update. Thanks, @NB550!

Def progress, from what I hear. Kudos RIM

Don't upgrade people, it's gone from terrible to not working at all now, I only updated because every time it would get stuck on socialfeeds and not back up, thought they fixed that, more fool me!

I only have DM on my Mac to allow me to mount my BB's and PB's memory so I can drag and drop data on and off the devices, I do not use the "sync" functions, so for my style of use, it works fine.

I agree that's how I use it. So it'll be just fine for me.

Still no OS updates for Mac users? RIM can't be serious about Mac support at all.

The inability to get contacts into the new contacts app is just sad RIM. The Palm Pilot could do this 14 years ago. Their should be a feature to allow BB phone users to push in contacts via the bridge with a single button.

Sync is much faster now and syncs playlists from itunes successfully. Backup is also quite noticeably faster too, so far thats all i've noticed thats different.
