BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac v2.1 now available!

Desktop Manager for Mac Updated

Good news today for BlackBerry + Mac users, especially those of you who own a BlackBerry PlayBook and Mac. RIM has officially released  BlackBerry Desktop Software v2.1 for Mac which now supports the RIM tablet. Here's the word from RIM:

BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac v2.1 includes media sync support for the BlackBerry PlayBook. In addition to being able to drag and drop files directly to BlackBerry PlayBook over USB or Wi-Fi, you can now use Desktop Software for Mac to sync music, photos and videos with iTunes and iPhoto over USB. Make sure to get your copy at www.blackberry.com/mac!

Still next to useless although it is a start. I would much rather see more functionality as a business machine than an entertainment device. For that get an IPad. Seems like all anyone cares about is how much music and how many games they can get on the PB. I need backup capability. My PB is a workhorse at my job and I feel very uneasy not being to back it up.

Just got a MacBook pro yesterday after years of being a PC user. Was worried about Mac vs BB issues but downloaded and used it last night with no issues. Downside: no option to do one-way sync and no way to set conflict resolution to "device wins". Upside is that only DM is needed to sync to iCal and the Mac address book. No need to download handleld software and no need to purchase MS Outlook. Still adjusting to the Mac but so far it's all good.

Hi there. New macbook pro user as of yesterday. Can you please tell me how you got DM to sync music and address book? I was able to sync calendar to ICal but nothing else will sync.

Anybody is having problems with his PLAYBOOK after the last OS Update. Mine keeps freezing up. If i open apps, or type a password, keeps freezing.
