UPDATE UPDATE: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3 is now available from Vodafones Website. Click Here for Details.
UPDATE: I thought maybe the download was pulled but it's still there... the server is probably just getting hammered by visitors and is going really, really slow. Use the comments to this post to keep people in the loop! Keep in mind it there's a chance it might not work by the time you read this...
I'm not sure if this was an intentional release or not, but it seems that a copy of BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3 is available for download on Vodafone's FTP site. Note, this isn't the Operating System 4.3.1 update mentioned in previous posts (that will soon let your Curve record video!), this is the Desktop Manager that syncs your BlackBerry to your Windows Computer. It's the multi-language edition, so it should work for everyone. We can't find any reference to this file on Vodafone's actual website, so it may be a bit of a slip up.
As of this posting the URL is working, so if you want to give it a go then the onus is on you and of course CrackBerry.com takes no responsibility. We just report the news as we hear it/find it/make it! If you want it I'd pull it fast as it may not be there for long :)
Download Desktop Manager 4.3 Here!
Big Thanks to member Bla1ze who posted this in the CrackBerry.com Forums via BBF.

Just let the site sit in another window for awhile and it gives you the download prompt

It still works, but it takes MANY tries. I am connected and downloading now, but it is slow, says that it will take over 2 hours.

ok guys and gals whats the verdict is this a working program and does it work the video portion like the 4.3.1 ? thanks
Anonymous Nov 3, 2007 at 7:43 pm
It works fine, looks like just a UI upgrade from what I can tell, but can't find the option to hide when minimized, so that sucks.
Mr. H Nov 3, 2007 at 8:15 pm
As of 2P Pacific Time, I was able to access the site and download Desktop Manager 4.3. The download took a painful ~ 2hours over a cable connection. It installed easily on an old laptop running WIN2000. It has a more elegant interface but the clunky Roxio Media Manager is still there - more work needed with that.
blackberryforme Nov 3, 2007 at 9:34 pm
Well,
I got there. BUT, I have dsl and it said that it would take 3 hours? What's up with that. No thanks. I think I will wait for the later version from the Blackberry site itself.
Thanks anyway.
Demyxxx Nov 4, 2007 at 1:01 am
or is it just for a specific BBERRY?

I got it to download last night. The speeds suck because the site is slammed (took over 4 hours to download on a T3 connection), but it works. Nothing really special or new, it just looks cool now. Any of yall that couldn't get it, PM me, otherwise, like I said, it's not THAT special, you aren't missing out on that much to wait for the official release.

I am so new to this so please help me out. What is this program used for? Do I need to put this on my BB? I have my first BB it is the 8830W. Thanks in advance for not attacking the newb.
Anonymous Nov 4, 2007 at 7:11 pm
Desktop Manager is the program installed onto Windows (not your BlackBerry) that allows you to sync the BlackBerry to your computer (outlook contacts, address book, etc) and perform backups, and load/remove applications, update your BlackBerry's Operating System, etc.
RIM will probably "officially" release this soon, so if you're new to BlackBerrys you may want to hold of. But I downloaded it and installed it and it seemed smooth.
The model of your BlackBerry doesn't matter as it's not installed onto the BlackBerry, rather your PC. It should work with anything in the newer generation (8700s, pearls, curves, 8800 series, etc.)

visi0n Nov 5, 2007 at 1:40 pm
does this version sync up with my BB OTA? or is it the same with a new face?
jcj1 Nov 7, 2007 at 7:40 am
seems same with new face, also not everything works. could be due to busy site and download issues
Mike Mackey Nov 5, 2007 at 9:51 pm

I have d/l the DM v4.3, but I could not find the Media Manager as it's showed in your screen shot above. Anyone could enlighten me? And yes the version of the DM is version 4.3.0.15 [Aug 15, 2007]. Thanks!
Anonymous Nov 6, 2007 at 4:24 pm
Hi, I d/l'd and same thing. No media manager.

John J Nov 7, 2007 at 7:34 am
downloaded and mine has MM but no sync. think the site being slammed is reeking havoc with downloads and not send all data through correctly
-justin- Aug 3, 2008 at 2:31 am
the same thing happened to me.
did u ever find out how to fix it?
bukzin Nov 6, 2007 at 2:57 pm
I'm thinking it may be useful to have both versions
(the one that came with my Cingular Pearl and this
new 4.3 version).
Good idea?
If so, should I place the new one in the same file
as the old?
Can any of you comment on using this new one
with the Pearl?
Thanks,
Bukzin

rv02tx Nov 7, 2007 at 1:40 am
I got the download, but now when I run it I'm getting a "not a valid WIN32 application" Hints?!
Anonymous Nov 22, 2007 at 1:01 pm
Sounds like your download was truncated.
File size might help determine this.

Looks to be down now. Says forbidden. Although, if anyone would like to share...
And I assume this is mostly important for its managing of media (Music, tones, pictures, video)? how's it?
John J Nov 7, 2007 at 7:28 am
looks nice but does not setup correctly! did not let me sync and did not reinstall correctly. tried to re-download and link doesn't work, comes up forbidden

Hey guys, I'm downloading the 4.3 Desktop Manager, but before installing I'd like to find out if the stupid Roxio media manager is bundled with the software, or RIM went back to using its own Media Manager?
bob ely Dec 20, 2007 at 6:39 pm
I just upgraded from 4.1 to 4.3 desktop manager software. and when I first connect all is fine, device connect is correct it shows my pin number is ok. The desk top manager is controlled with the Roxio software is this the problem?
But now when I enter Media Manager and in the lower window is shows my device it will not connect, the resynchronize and and back up work great.
I would like to be able to get my e-mail off the unit and add some new ringtones.
My phone is a 7100g model
Thanks with any help

I'm having that same problem. I have a 7100i. It keeps showing that my device is not connected even though it syncs fine and everything else. We're looking for some of you strong Crackberry Addicts to help us out on how to manipulate that part of the system so to speak to get it working. Thanks!!!

WHERE I CAN DESCEND THE ONE DESKTOP MANANGER 4.3 FOR BLAC BERRY CURVE
Jilyjo Feb 8, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Besides synching your blackberry to your PC, can you manage your contacts on the Desktop Manager? You know, basic stuff like adding/deleting contact on the PC, then synching it to your BB? Seems like a very basic thing, but can't find it on the desktop manager!!!
ron pittman Mar 22, 2009 at 2:33 pm
i would like to find some software like the palm stuff for the bb 8830.
i can't imagine it not being available somewhere.
Vecs Feb 15, 2008 at 9:13 pm
I just got the new blackberry curve. I had the 8700 and have it set up to sync (version 4.1.8 I think) with my outlook 2007 using Windows vista. Do I need to install the new software for the curve or can I just go ahead and sync with my current software version to load all my contacts and calendar to my new phone and go from there?

the reason i'm here is that there is no way I'm gonna fill out that form on the official Blackberry download site. 'cos I'm a just a kid- with no business name or any of that stuff! And I'm not creative enough to make up a bunch of stuff to write in the form...

I've been trying to fix my BlackBerry 3120 for at least 2 months now. I never set up the disk when I first got it because it worked fine. Now that it's saying "JVM Error 545 incompatible or corrupt filesystem" I've tried downloading the Desktop Manager. After it's downloaded I try to open it but it keeps saying "BlackBerry Desktop Manager is not a valid Win 32 application". Someone please help!!!!
