BlackBerry Curve 8900 In White?!?

Seems as though RIM is not only flooding the market with new BlackBerry smartphones but now also getting in the habit of relaunching old devices, just with new paintjobs. First we saw the BlackBerry Bold 9000 arrive in white on AT&T and Rogers (more carriers coming) but now we are getting a look at the BlackBerry Curve 8900 in white.

BGR didn't have any details on release date or anything along those lines but at least we get a glimpse at it. What do you all think? A lot of folks loved the white BlackBerry Bold 9000, so who is on board for a white BlackBerry Curve 8900?

Nice. I really wish RIM would just do this at launch. My gf picked up a new Bold 9700 yesterday, replacing her ColorWare White Curve 8320.

Now me and her have the same phones. Which is confusing. If at launch they offered it in two colors, she could get one... I could get the other. No confusion. Looks hawt though!

BULL FKIN SHAT..... Fine the bold9000 in white looked kik ass it really did but this is just rubbish, seems like rim is churrnin out colours in a latter stage to make a cheap sales pitch looks lame and why bother with an 8900 ( i have it chill but its just too late) when the tour and bold9700 is out ne way ... dont get me wrong i love rim and bb to bits but this is just fkin pushin it!! 2 thumbs DOWN for this!

9700 in all gloss/ceramic white EPIC!

Looks better with the chrome finish. I agree Kevin, doing this at launch makes way more sense. Idk why RIM does that.

DId the morons add 3G to the device? Probably not. I can do the same thing in 30mins by buying a bezel for $12. In fact, I'm about to black out my Tour...I should contact RIM and let them know there is MORE ways to squeeze money out of people.

This picture is false. Chrome part just looks white. BOLD is all white from bezel to keyboard to buttons.

Ordered an all white full housing from an aftermarket company for my 8900. Easy enough to change out and looks great.

I strongly suggest however that you * DO NOT * change out your midplate. You'd have to do surgery to your hardware and you just don't want to scratch anything important in there. You will have to transfer over the dedicated/hidden "lock" and "mute" keys up top to the new bezel. It's just a peel and stick application, but you still need to be very careful.

Phone looks great, better than this OEM white color. So pick your poison

I work for AT&T and we got the same headers for our signs. This is just simply a crappy bad quality picture. Would've been nice but sorry guys, No white 8900 (yet).

...so no, it's not for me. I doubt I'd want my 9000 in white either from what I've seen.

It's good for AT&T, though. They're already #1 in "diversity" amongst smartphones, and within that category, they also have seemingly every darn Berry that's out there as far as price range, as well as feature-wise.

Doesn't the new Bold 9700 kind of have the "look amd feel" of the Curve 8900 except with 3G (and UMA for some ;) )??? It even seems to be closest in size and weight than any other Berry.
