This is GREAT news. Now when will America get it. I WANT it so BAD.
Achronas Oct 9, 2008 at 11:29 am
Could this possibly be the long awaited hands with the Storm by the one who most worthy?
Kevin Michaluk Oct 9, 2008 at 11:30 am
not quite. more like a hands-on video with the device pictured in this post! :-)
Achronas Oct 9, 2008 at 11:35 am
Ah....
Oh well... I'll live with that for now!
Hope it won't take long for the Storm though!
: )
itsajdamnit Oct 9, 2008 at 11:30 am
I hope the special treat is A.J. gets a free 8900. By the way, I'm A.J.
itsajdamnit Oct 9, 2008 at 11:31 am
Oh nevermind :(
Anonymous Oct 9, 2008 at 11:33 am
Looks nice! A smaller BOLD look. If T-Mobile in USA gets this before AT&T goes BOLD I'm going to be pissed. To bad T-mobile service sucks (in my opinion). First Rogers with BOLD, now Verizon with Storm, and now this??? Come on AT&T! You cant have the most expensive plans without the new phones.
bmcclure937 Oct 9, 2008 at 1:52 pm
To each his own...
I have been a happy and extremely satisfied TMobile Customer.
Honestly, my experience with ATT has been horrible (of course, that was back in the Cingular days).
Anonymous Oct 9, 2008 at 11:43 am
Why would you want this when Bold is coming out soon which is much better, also Storm is coming out, who cares about curve, its not worth getting it.
Achronas Oct 9, 2008 at 11:46 am
But it IS worth getting.... why do you say it's not worth it?!
Anonymous Oct 9, 2008 at 11:52 am
If you can get better product such as Bold or Storm why would you pay for something that is not as good.
itsajdamnit Oct 9, 2008 at 11:54 am
Better in whose opinion? Not mine.
SLVR6 Oct 9, 2008 at 12:42 pm
Bold is big (has less RAM) and will not work with T-Mobile 3G, has a smaller screen. Storm is cool, but will not be available for quite some time on T-Mobile. The Javelin is an awesome package!
Anonymous Dec 3, 2008 at 6:22 am
no no.. you are wrong... Bold has bigger screen.. Curve 2 (8900) has better pixels though
Debi Gilmore Oct 9, 2008 at 12:28 pm
Hmm... did you take a look at the specs? Those facts are all you need to decide on the Curve 8900.
bmcclure937 Oct 9, 2008 at 1:55 pm
Have you not noticed that RIM has numerous devices aimed for different "marketing groups"??
It would not make sense for them to leave a gap in the product line where the Curve left off. The new devices (Bold, Storm, Pearl Flip, Curve 8900) all have their strengths and weaknesses.
Also, many people may not prefer a touch screen, flip Berry or size of the Bold! Those are the people looking at the Curve 2. Honestly, I do not like the size of the Bold and I would much prefer the Curve 8900. On top of that, there is not Bold for TMobile that would work on their 3G... so it would be pointless.
I would really like to try out the Storm for my carrier... but the Curve 8900 will be a solid device on TMobile.
Allyson Kazmucha Oct 9, 2008 at 11:47 am
the video post will the that the crackberry resident tech lesbian (that would be me) gets the 8900 after kevin demos it. :0
itsajdamnit Oct 9, 2008 at 11:53 am
UGH! Not fair!
Al Sacco Oct 9, 2008 at 12:20 pm
Can't wait to see the video, Kevin. I'm really excited about the Curve 8900.
Now hurry up and get it posted! How am I supposed to get any work done today?? ;)
AS
Anonymous Oct 9, 2008 at 12:21 pm
so the question is.........will AT&T get the 8900 at some point (soon)?? What is your opinion Kevin??
Anonymous Oct 9, 2008 at 2:07 pm
I hope they will :)
wcmayor Oct 9, 2008 at 5:57 pm
i am also wondering, does anyone have any idea what the timeframe for release is on att? i was planning on getting the 8320, but if in another month or two i could get this, that would be well worth the wait. i have lost all hope in the bold being released, and i like the 8900 much better.
Anonymous Oct 10, 2008 at 5:56 am
its unlikely that AT&T will ever see the 8900, due to its lack of 3G, and their claims of never taking another non-3G device, ever again
Anonymous Oct 9, 2008 at 12:31 pm
With the damn video! NEED IT! =-)
s2by10 Oct 9, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I almost bought the Curve but decided to wait longer. I've been waiting since June to replace my Pearl 8100.
Anonymous Oct 9, 2008 at 7:07 pm
Same here!
Grafixx01#AC Oct 9, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Hmm, now I'm planning on getting the Storm but like the full QWERTY keyboard of the Javelin / Niagra. Too bad that VZW isn't (RUMOR!!!) slated for this until May of 2009. Maybe I'll get the Storm and keep it until this comes out, if I don't like it, then I'll get the Niagra. But from what I've seen about the Storm, I'll probably like it and not get rid of it.
dboutet Oct 9, 2008 at 2:01 pm
:O hands on video of 8900?! ive waited foreverrrr for this
Oct 9, 2008 at 2:06 pm
OOOOH man I'm getting this I HOPEEE!!!
Anonymous Oct 9, 2008 at 2:41 pm
does it have a black trackball? i didn't think it did but from this picture it looks like the trackball is black... maybe it's just the picture?
s2by10 Oct 9, 2008 at 7:27 pm

sarky Oct 9, 2008 at 5:55 pm
that's fine, all the effort is appreciated!!
roboy02 Oct 9, 2008 at 5:08 pm
I work for AT&T and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up coming to us around Christmas along with the Bold. Our cost on the 8310 Curve dropped to just over 250, which is a good sign that it's about to be dropped from our line up and replace by something else. And with the price point on the Bold probably going to be a little high, it wouldn't surprise me if they added the 8900 to the line up as well.
