Just in case any of you were planning on picking up an 8520 soon but not wanting to fork over the $99.99 Rogers is asking. Futureshop has basically the same deal Walmart was offering when it launched on T-Mobile - an 8520 for the low cost of $49.99. Contracts still apply of course and since it's Canadian that makes it a 3 yearr one, but hey at least one dealer around here saw fit to match the US price.

Future Shop was also the only place in town I could find the 8520 at. Even the Rogers Store said "in a few weeks". I bought mine outright though, didn't want to sign a new contract.

Wal-Mart has also, temporarily, dropped the price of this phone $50 and is offering a 50 Wal-Mart gift card on top of that when a 3-year Roger's contract is signed. There may be other rules to the contract (monthly amount, etc.)... but this is what their in-store flyer had. Much better deal. Essentially free... assuming you shop at Wal-Mart frequently and will use their $50 gift card.

Price will be same or better at The Source, but they don't have them in stock as of yet.
