Established in 1903, the Empire Club of Canada is recognized as one of Canada's oldest and largest, more important speaker's forum and on September 26, BlackBerry CEO John Chen will be sitting down with Amber Kanwar there for an in-depth discussion. Tickets for the event have already sold out, but it does appear as though at least some of the conversation will be live-streamed.

Mr. John Chen, Executive Chairman & CEO, BlackBerry Limited - In Conversation with Amber Kanwar, Anchor & Reporter, BNN

John is a distinguished and proven leader in the technology industry. Prior to joining BlackBerry, he served as Chairman and CEO of Sybase Inc. from 1997 for 15 years, where he developed and led the company's re-invention from a mature, slower-growth technology company into a $1.5 billion-plus high-growth innovator. Under his direction, Sybase became the leading provider of enterprise mobility and mobile commerce solutions, achieving 55 consecutive quarters of profitability.

At this point, it's hard to say what topics will be discussed, but it's safe to say BlackBerry's turnaround and future will be among them. Also, the timing is rather interesting considering BlackBerry will be reporting their Q2 fiscal 2017 results September 28.

I don't want to speculate too much, but I will say, when John Chen decided to show off Priv for the first time, it was to Amber Kanwar around the same time last year. A moment he arguably might want to forget or redeem himself for.
