BlackBerry Bold 9900 now available from Vodafone UK

With Vodafone being part owner of Verizon Wireless maybe that means we'll get a VZW announcement sometime soon. I hope it's not the 25th >.<

And the carrier with the largest Blackberry user base in the UK (TMUK) still hasn't peeped a word about availability...

I happened to go into a Vodafone store today and I saw that the dummy handsets were in. A woman wearing a BlackBerry t-shirt asked if I required any help and I asked about the 9900. She said that it had just come out today and I just HAD to ask for a device to play around with. She handed me a store handset and man, I guess you know you're addicted to CrackBerry when your hands start shaking slightly and you're filled with amazement. The trouble was, the touchscreen worked beautifully and smooth for a moment, but afterward, it stopped responding, so I had to use the conventional methods of browsing, which I was completely fine with. The browser speed has increased dramatically, I mean compared to my 9700 rocking OS 6, which always tends to close the webpage and bring me back to my homepage because the site was too big. The store clerk seemed astounded when I said that it didn't have AF on its camera. I explained that RIM decided to give it EDOF which is great for the video, but somewhat worse for the photographs. The two main factors which I will miss dearly would be the fact that I cannot take closeups and the absence of the left convenience key.

Ah well. As soon as I get my full time job, I'll be saving up for this! Or maybe I should wait for the 9790 to hit the shelves? Hmm…

Couldn't try one out due to a bunch of morons outside the main store (forcing it to be shut) - protesting about Vodafone's taxes (or lack of paying).

I found out a handy hint today...
Go direct to Vodafone and you are looking around £41 a month for something you get for £32 via CW (but still on voda and still classed as an upgrade)!
